We bought the Captain’s Cabin Bar in 2010. This is a well established bar as it has been in operation since 1943. Which makes this bar one of the oldest bars in Coos Bay

Was looking for a cheap place to eat while passing thru Coos Bay. Stopped in here, but it didn’t seem like the kinda place I’d want to eat food at… ya know?
Bar-​wise, however, the ambiance was great! All down-​n-​out locals, drinking and partying and starting out their Friday night the Coos Bay way. Spent a good half hour talking to a retired phone-​sex operator at the bar, while enjoying some $ 6-​ish Captain & Cokes.
Good way to see local color, but I was hungry… so I didn’t stay.

My hubby and I stopped in for a late breakfast and we were blown away at how awesome this place is. The food is very good and it is scratch made. My hubby had Taylors sausage, hash browns and eggs. I had a cheeseburger and fries. It was a huge handmade patty and tons of fries. Portions are huge. The staff is very friendly and hardworking. The place is very clean and has a laid back vibe to it. Lots of locals and regulars hang out here. I would come back again.

From the moment we walked in the door, bellied up to the bar and left hours later this was a great stop. Joni was our bartender and there was another local in the bar when we arrived and were welcomed right away. Good stiff drinks, the tunes were a great variety and overall the best experience we had on our whole road trip as far as a place to grab a drink went. This town will be on our stop list for the next trip completely based on this bar and the BW across the street!

This place was pretty awesome. We came in and there were two other patrons having some beers. We started a conversation and there was music from the digital jukebox. The bartender was really nice and made a killer drink. I do however, do not recommend the pickled egg. They stayed open a few minutes past regular to allow us to finish our beverages. This is the type of bar you wish you had in your own home location to frequent.

Pool, poker, breakfast, lunch and dinner. Good food and lots of seating. Nice clean bathrooms and no smoke smell.
Large drink selection, nice bartenders with quick service. TV’s in the corners.
