History
Established in 1874.
The Inn at Cooperstown is an excellent example of Second Empire architecture, built as a triplex in 1874, it was an annex to the posh Fenimore Hotel. The building’s architect, Henry J. Hardenbergh was most noted for his designs of the Dakota Apartments and The Plaza Hotel in New York City. The Inn at Cooperstown is the first hotel building that Mr. Hardenbergh designed.
The Inn at Cooperstown re-opened in May 1985 after an extensive restoration. The Inn was placed on the National Register of Historic Places and received the New York State Historic Preservation Certificate of Achievement. In 1992, the Preservation League of New York presented their prestigious Tourism Award to The Inn at Cooperstown.
Today this 18-room hotel is a beautiful blend of modern amenities and historic ambience. All rooms have ensuite bathrooms, air conditioning, flat panel televisions, wifi, and much more. Breakfast is served each morning and there is off-street parking.
