History

Established in 1989.

Lucy Townsend opened Townsend Catering in 1989 in Cooperstown, NY and some of her first clients remain loyal to this day. Corporate functions and wedding receptions comprise a large part of sales, but we are also experts at private dinners, cocktail parties, brunches and barbecues. Full event and wedding planning services are offered with referrals for event locations, rentals, music, flowers, and more.

Today, the business is at Templeton Hall, a banquet facility located in the center of charming Cooperstown, NY. Templeton Hall itself is an historic building constructed in 1832, built originally as a church, and conveniently walking distance from most lodging and the trolley stop.

Full services at Templeton include dining space for up to 100 guests, bar services, handicapped accessibility and restroom facilities, plus tables, chairs, glassware, linens, silverware and china for your event. We run on-​site and off-​premise events from this location, and service Syracuse and Oneonta events.
