I have experience better. Our visit was on 1÷30÷2016 our fried platter the food was not seasoned, garden salad was not good at all. The fried oysters there were no season on the breading on them where no good. I would have spent my money at Papa Deaux’s verses going to this place way across town for the first time and the food wasn’t good. We had a huge party and a lot of people was disappointed. There was 18% gratuity on each one of our checks. This was a waist of money and time.

A must try! The restaurant has a downtown swank feel that is actually situated uptown in Conyers. I visited on a Sunday afternoon around 2pm. The host staff exhibited what I have come to know as genuine southern hospitality. We were greeted and promptly shown to our table where the wait staff took our drink orders within two minutes of being seated. The venue it’s self had ample seating with ambient lighting. The most visual appeal resided in the large hand painted art scenes of various locations in Charleston, SC. Apparently, Sundays feature various local musicians from either the Gospel or Jazz genre. On this day, there was a young brotha on the electric guitar thumbing a few groovy jazz licks, In between his sessions, soft jazz. At some point the music was turned down a bit and the divisional championship game(Broncos/Patriots) was played on two large screens. The food was scrumptious! The waiter brought us out four warm sweet potato muffins served with sweet butter. I had the Cajun Pasta. Let me tell you, it was so damn good. I am salivating now thinking of it. The dish was penne pasta with bacon pieces, and crawfish in some sort of cream sauce. It was enough to feed two. My Uncle had the shrimp in grits that he raved about. He too had to take a portion of his meal home. Suffice to say, you won’t leave hungry. The prices were actually a bit cheaper than I anticipated. Five stars to Mr. Coaxum and his team. I thoroughly enjoyed the off the chart food, luring semblance and soothing sounds. A quick bit for the Fellas, if you trying to impress your lady, you gotta check this spot out!!! And f you don’t have a lady, you still got to check the spot out, you won’t be disappointed.

Decided stop in after seeing it for a while. Great decision! The wife ordered the chicken and french toast and I ordered the cajun pasta. Both were excellent! We ate the bar on a relatively slow Saturday afternoon and our server Ashley was vere nice and attentive. We’ll def be back

Let me start off by saying I was very impressed with the restaurant. The inside décor is very nice with a nice atmosphere. The food was excellent and seasoned just right. I highly recommend the blackened salmon. The live band was perfect. The only issue I had was the very rude head manager at the very front. She was very condescending and very unprofessional when I asked about reservations I made. My server Jason was excellent and very attentive. This place is great once you get past the rude gate keepers at front.

Recently visited on a Sunday evening. Not busy. Beautifully decorated. Party of 8. Food was ok. Music was very loud. Asked our server several times to have music lowered. Finally after asking manager the music was turned down. Not impressed & won’t be back.

For those who know me, I’m a critic and a cynic. Especially about restaurants in Conyers. I am completely blown away by this place. I was in early, eating at the bar. I ordered crab cakes, and the wedge salad. Both above and beyond what I could of hoped for in Conyers. Let me start with the wedge, my favorite salad of all time. I’ve had better, but this one was pretty good. But for 11 $ it should be, right? On the menu it doesn’t highlight the bacon and blue cheese, which is worrisome. It came, it was beautiful, a little sprinkling of questionable bacon and blue cheese, but all in all I enjoyed it The crab cakes was a decent rendition. Though mine were just warm, and a little stingy on romulade, when I mentioned both they were so willing to fix it. I declined, they promptly brought me more sauce and almost insisted on making me more crab cakes. The dirty gray goose martini was great. I also had a malbec by the glass which I really enjoyed. The service was fabulous! I know the inconsistencies in Conyers. Hope you have the same experience I did. Oh yeah, The music is fabulous on the wire, and I overheard they have live music a couple times a week!

I just had to brag about my first time at this super — classy Conyers restaurant. I had an awesome Cajun crawfish pasta meal with a calamari appetizer and southern greens. I actually had to take ¾ of my food home, because the servings were so generous! My friend and I loaded up on the delicious sweet potato muffins(with whipped butter on the side) that are served as table bread. Service could not have been better overall, even though my friend had to hurry to a meeting, and we unfortunately had to ask the staff to accommodate our hurried exit(I left a generous tip!) I was told by Aviance, our server, that there’s a band that plays on weekends, and there are specials throughout the week. Aviance could not have been more hospitable throughout our visit! I’m posting a pic of the bread pudding that I ordered to go, as I came home and opened my box to see a wonderfully artistic beauty of a dessert! I even put the orchid in a water bowl to preserve it as long as possible! This place just blew my mind, and my friend and I are already talking about going back. I can’t recommend this place enough!!!

From the clean-lined impressive interior, to the excellent attentiveness of the staff, to the absolutely awesome Cajun Pasta, this restaurant is completely worthy to be on your«To Visit» list. My server was Ashley and she was certainly on point and had a great sense of humor and warmth that, for me, goes a long way. Bread pudding and coffee made the meal complete and worth the money at twice the price. Good food, good ambiance and excellent service make Coaxum’s a place to return to as frequently as possible.

The décor at this place is the great. The food, outright terrible. The food has absolutely no flavor. They cook it up and throw seasoning all over it to create flavor. If you go here, you better detour and go to Longhorn Steakhouse instead.

We went in on a slow Monday night, and the service was glacial. It took ten minutes to get drinks(just two iced teas). The menus were filthy on the outside, and our booth was awkwardly spaced. The general interior design is pleasing, and the art is quite nice. As for the food, I had the shrimp and grits, which were quite good(the grits were grits, the sauce was fantastic), but my mother had the fried chicken which was literally bone dry. The sides(green beans and sweet potato soufflé) were fantastic. We didn’t try a desert. For the price it probably isn’t worth it. I don’t think we’ll make a return trip.

This place has a very nice décor. Great date spot. I ordered the seafood platter with two mac n cheese sides because I didn’t care for any of the others offered. After a 40 minute wait with very few clientele my 23 dollar plate came with three shrimp, three oysters, and three pieces of fish. The oysters and shrimp batter was kinda greasy and soggy. They were fried in cornmeal which I don’t care for. The shrimp were pretty big. The three cheese mac. N cheese was decent after adding a dash of salt and pepper and came in the cutest little personal ceramic pots.

Beautifully decorated restaurant that is well kept and clean. The restrooms were clean as well. The customer service ranks up there with what you would expect at ruths chris! We were so impressed with our waiter Josh G. We had to inform the manager on duty was a pleasant african american female and was genuine with her«I hope you come back to visit.» my guy and I explained how we came from north atlanta(an 1 hour away) just to try this restaurant based off of reviews on Unilocal and that we have passed it a couple times while we were in the area. She was pleased that people would travel that far to try the restaurant out. She was professional and friendly and she is good in her position. There was an older african american gentleman going around checking on tables and making conversation, I assumed he was the owner. He was very pleasant and accomodating as well. for this not to be a «high end» restaurant they sure the run the place like one from the staffs attire, the glassware, the stemware, to the customer service, and it’s greatly appreciated! Bravo guys, job well done! They offer complimentary muffins and honey butter which was a nice touch. My guy ordered the fried seafood platter, the only complaint was it wasn’t seasoned like how we would season at home and it wasn’t enough fish for $ 24. For this to be a country, creole, spot you would expect some seasonings. I ordered the wedge salad that was $ 11 and worth every penny! It was filling to the point I only took 1 bite out of my pulled pork sandwich. The sandwich was served on a bun with Cole slaw, and BBQ sauce was drizzled over the meat. Was it the best pork sandwich I’ve ever had? No… but it was decent. It Could’ve used more seasoning but that’s my only gripe. I like the dishes come with sweet potato fries. My guys side dishes were sweet potato casserole which I thought wasn’t sweet enough but he liked it just fine. He said the mac n cheese was good and liked the little dish it was cooked in. The kids menu was typical but wasn’t typical was the amount of food. It was totally worth $ 4.49 for spaghetti and $ 5.99 for shrimp and fries. It was enough that both of my boys could split their dishes and have the best of both worlds. The children’s menu also includes a ice cream dessert or strawberry shortcake. We opted for the strawberry shortcake which was lemon pound cake, strawberries, and whipped cream. My 4 year old didn’t care for it but my 5 year old was willing to eat his little brothers if he didn’t want it lol very satisfied with the service, the food needs a little tweaking, but overall pretty good and worth trying out. Dinner for 2 kids and 2 adults will set you back about $ 60 – 70, they are pricey but atleast we left with 3 to go boxes of food we couldn’t finish. Will we be back? Diffinitely if we are in the area for lunch, the lunch menu is more affordable than dinner if you are trying to save a buck or two. This is one african american owned business that deserves driving to the tip of the earth to try out. The whole staff was impressive from beginning to end!

First off let me say they take care of you, with excellent customer service. The wait staff is friendly and pleasant. They even came over and showed us how to eat and open a crawfish. I ordered the Cajun pasta with no ham and added shrimp. It was pretty good but nothing spectacular. My son had the fried shrimp and they were huge and not fried too hard. My friend had the seafood boil and he enjoyed it a lot. The bread pudding was surprisingly excellent and presented beautifully. It was a nice treat to eat with friends and have live music. We will definitely return. I would give them 5 stars if my pasta included the shrimp instead of me having to add them because the crawfish it came with were very small and few.

This was my first visit here with my family and we all enjoyed the food. It’s a nice restaurant, I really like the atmosphere, the bar is beautiful, the entire restaurant gives me an In-town feeling even though it’s in a suburban setting. They start you off with these little biscuits that were so good, I decided to get the shrimp and grits for my meal, it was very rich and they weren’t stingy with the shrimp either. I would definitely go back to this restaurant, there menu has a lot of seafood options

This place is really nice if you’re in the mood for seafood. The place is clean, very relaxing ambience with nice music playing in the background. I had the Cajun pasta, my husband had the crab boil and my little one had the pasta with marinara sauce all were really good. Portion size is good too. The service was great, our server checked in ever so often to see if we needed anything and kept our glasses filled. The manager also stop by to chat with us. Staff is very friendly. We will definitely return. The only con for me was they didn’t have a baby changing area in the restroom(which was clean by the way). However the counter was big enough for me to use for that purpose.

It’s been a while since I’ve had the experience to write a 5 star review. But this place is more than deserving. From start to finish the customer service was amazing. The hostess greeted us and was very friendly. Our waitress was sweet and came to check on us often and even the manager stopped by twice to speak to us, ask us if it was our first time there, it happens to be our two year anniversary so we talked about that for a minute. Everyone was engaging but not overbearing. Now the food is another story, it came out quickly! I found this place on Unilocal so I knew it had good reviews but I wasn’t anticipating a perfect meal. I ordered the fried chicken which came with a breast and thigh, Mac and cheese and green beans. The chicken was perfectly flavored, crisp and moist. You know it’s easy to dry out the breast but it was amazing. The Mac and cheese could’ve used a little more salt but that’s my personal taste but it was cheesy and warm. The green beans were cooked to perfection, nice and crisp. I hate soggy veggies. My husband had the chicken and French toast which was a nice variation from the standard chicken and waffle you always see now a days. It had a bourbon syrup and it was fabulous, yes I had a bite that’s what wives do lol. I ordered the chocolate martini and it wasn’t watered down like most drinks are. It had shaved pieces of chocolate in the drink which were soaked in the alcohol by the end of my glass that I scooped and ate. I also got the peach cobbler which wasn’t good as grandmas and for $ 7 I could’ve left that. However the service was impeccable, and the food was delicious and I’ve already told all my friends on fb about this place. I hope you stick around because it’s a gorgeous venue and I plan on returning.

My Red Hatters and I ate at Coaxum’s last night. We were greeted outside and door and welcomed. Everyone was nice and friendly, including the owner. Our appetizers included fried oysters, calamari, fried green tomatoes, and mussels. All were deliciously prepared. We also had complimentary sweet potato cornbread mini muffins. Main entrees consisted of fried catfish, grilled chicken with eggplants and tomatoes over pasta and shrimp and grits. Again, all was deliciously prepared. Entertainment for the evening was provided by the musical group Hindsight(family members from Bermuda). They played r&b from the 70s and reggae. They were fantastic. I look forward to going back next week!

I celebrated my birthday at Coaxum’s for lunch It was fantastic! Wesley, the manager was so professional. He took the time greet our table and made sure we enjoyed our dining experience. Will was our server and he was so attentive and accommodating. The food was delicious and the portions were quite sufficient! The seafood platter was cooked to perfection. Everybody in my party loved their food! I will definitely dine at Coaxum’s in the very near future. I would without reservation recommend this place to my friends and family. I plan to return this weekend for some live entertainment and dinner. I give this restaurant a10!!!
