This place used to have good sushi at a great price, but recently it’s been difficult to get good service or food brought out within a reasonable amount of time. Our last visit here may very well be our last visit altogether. We waited for 45 min for a really bad house salad to come out and 20 min more for 2 simple ingredient sushi rolls. All this while watching take out order after take out order being fulfilled– most of which were placed after we arrived. It’s obvious where their priorities are. If you’re in the area and want sushi, you’re better off to drive a little further to King Kong.

My favorite affordable sushi restaurant. Can’t ask for a better place in the area. I’ve tried them all. Some good, some not so ggod, but none as good for the value. Especially at lunch!

The most expensive item on the sushi menu, not counting the Love Boat(chef’s choice of sushi and sashimi), is a specialty roll at about $ 9.50. This is the average price of any roll on King Kong’s menu. Most rolls run about $ 4 – 5. The food itself is authentic. I personally like the Jade Roll and Sweet Potato Roll. The only thing that kept me from giving this place 5 stars is the service. The waitresses don’t speak English that well, and sometimes they aren’t attentive and can be rude. The food is what saves it all. Also, it can get packed quickly, especially during lunch or on a weekend evening. By far, the best sushi place in the Myrtle Beach area.
