Spring Mill Fire Co No 1

The ballroom is beautiful. My husband and I just had our wedding and reception there. Jim is the worst to work with we scheduled to have our family come to the hall to look it it with us Jim wanted to charge us 85 dollars for ten minutes. He was so rude to our parents. He mentioned to us that we need 5 of his staff members on the floor at our event NO MATTER WHAT, because we did not have a licensed catered. That was fine with us. We understood. I called Jim in early August to set up a 30 minute rehearsal run through with our bridal party. All the dates in September I suggested were rudely denied. Jim told us the ONLY day available was two days before our wedding. We were willing to work with that. We wanted to have it T 430 pm and he claimed that time doesn’t work well for people because of the local traffic and suggested we made it later in the evening. Then things got uglier we called him the day before the rehearsal to pay him for an hour as he requested and he said we never talked to him. We never scheduled it. He doesn’t know what we are talking About people had that day and that time booked for over a year!!! We took the Loss and couldn’t sweat it too much because our wedding was in TWO DAYS! We tried to call and email several times and he was always too busy to talk and gave us a better time to call back we did what he said every time. That wasn’t good enough. We tried to touch base about his 5 MANDATORY helpers and Jim once again was confused and not sure where our whole family heard that information. He bumped the price up the DAY OF OUR WEDDING because he ‘found workers who were willing to stop what they were doing to come in’ he then over charged us for the help. UNTIL JIM NO LONGER WORKS HERE DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THE BALLROOM

My friend hosted her casual in-​town wedding reception here. They were married in Iceland, but wanted to have a second, low-​key reception in Philly for friends and family who couldn’t make the trip. The Spring Mill Fire Co was a great choice (in my opinion) for her Sunday afternoon party.
The ballroom is very nice and looks new, and works well for a mid-​size party — they had about 10 round 8-​person tables set up around the room, with a dance floor up in front (the bar back in one corner and restrooms off to one side). The large windows along one wall let in plenty of natural light. The bar offers reasonably priced drinks (incl. $ 4 wine), and there was room to set up a corn hole game and other games for kids along the windows. My friend got catering (sandwich trays and finger foods) from Pepperoncini’s — delicious!
Overall, a great venue and not what I’d expect from a «fire hall»!

I recently hosted a 50^th Birthday party for my husband, and was searching high and low for places to have it. Then I stumbled upon this place. So happy that I did. For $ 350, you can rent out a pretty decent sized room with tables and another room with a bar AND a bartender. Since the price was right, I decided to pay for the bar tab and that wasn’t bad either. $ 2 drafts and $ 4 cocktails were served with a smile by Colleen who was sweet and helpful to us.
Jim was the guy I met with to rent the place to us. He was not über friendly, but accommodating none-​the-​less.
If you have a small sized event for under 100 people, this is the place. They also have a large sized banquet hall upstairs with a fancier motif for weddings and such. Just an FYI.
Also good to know… great central location for most people in the Philadelphia area. Right off of 76, 476 & Turnpike. Have fun!
