Hart Brazilian Jiu Jitsu & Boxing

I’ve been training at Hart’s for awhile now. Truth is, this is a great gym. Tim is one of the best instructors I’ve ever seen. He takes the time to break down all of the techniques and spends a lot of time with everyone. His and his other instructor’s teaching are top notch and they have an uncanny ability to get the best out of everyone. The atmosphere is like a family. Everyone helps everyone else get better each day. Can’t say enough about what kind of impact the school has made on me as a person and it certainly has improved my jiu jitsu.

Tim runs a great school with very friendly and helpful instructors. All of the students also have a similar attitude. The class schedule is pretty accommodating and offers a variety of different programs. Hart BJJ & Boxing is also especially affordable with different tiers depending on the type of training you are looking to accomplish. Above all, I think the best quality of this gym is that you really get more individual attention than some other larger schools which is a key to improving.

I came to BJJ purely for self-​defense purposes and it has now changed me in ways I couldn’t have predicted. I want to note also that I have never really been an athlete, so if you are contemplating it but think you are out of shape, just go and try it! Walking into any bjj/​mma related gym can be very intimidating as a complete beginner and as a woman and I chose Hart’s over schools that were more convenient for me because I felt immediately comfortable in the environment. If you want to learn from scratch, this is the place to do it. Tim, the other instructors and your classmates will treat you with respect and there is no better type of atmosphere to learn in.
It really baffles me that more women don’t train BJJ; I never felt as empowered and confident before starting on this journey. The one-​on-​one attention you can get if you put in the time and effort is unparalleled and the prices are beyond reasonable. Beyond that, I’ve made amazing friends and connections and have learned valuable life skills. What are you waiting for?

Tim Hart is one of those rare instructors who possess incredible skill and technical ability along with the uncanny ability to impart that knowledge to others. I have been training with him for a little over 6 years and can honestly say that I would not still be training right now if not for Tim and the great relationships I have built while training at his gym. The environment is very friendly and easy going. On any given night, there are people of all ages and walks of life sharing the mat — doctors, police officers, teachers, engineers, laborers, students, fighters. People initially show up wanting to learn how to defend themselves or simply to get in shape. They keep going because it is a lot of fun to get together with friends and learn a specific skill that has so many positive benefits. I guarantee that if you come train at Hart’s Boxing and Jiu Jitsu and stick with it, your life will change for the better in so many ways. Not only will you learn a valuable new skill, you’ll also be in the best shape of your life, build confidence, relieve stress, and make a lot of great friends in the process.

Where to begin. I have been training under Tim Hart for the last year and it has been the best year of my juijitsu life. I had a lot to learn and Tim has shown a great deal of patience and understanding and an amazing knowledge that simply blows me away. I have made a lot of great new friends in 2012 at Hart BJJ and I look forward to making more in 2013 at Hart BJJ.

Tim Hart is such an excellent instructor and practitioner you may wonder why you haven’t trained with him yet. His ability to develop skill in people of any level is excellent. Tim has a knack for diagnosing and correcting holes in anyone’s game. His approach is humble and selfless. Whether it’s an advanced Jiu Jitsu/​Boxing class or a children’s class he is 100% himself and perfectly at home in that setting.
Wherever you train you should make sure that you visit Tim’s school for some help. If you haven’t started, you should start immediately.

I found Hart BJJ when I was in desperate need of some mat time after a bad day. I called up to make sure there was a class I could attend, and 15 minutes later I was training. Right off the bat, the environment and the people were just great. The instructors are friendly, knowledgeable and excellent at explaining moves step-​by-​step, at a pace that’s good for everyone. Perfect for someone who wants to compete or just relieve some stress and lose weight.
