Elite Tailor By Miriam

Sharp objects everywhere: needles, razors, shearing scissors, hot irons and a screaming Owner holding a child. Completely unprofessional.
I brought four items to this establishment on two separate occasions. Spending a total of $ 130.00.
When picking up my first pair of pants ($ 85.00), while dropping off another pair of pants.
The hem was different from one to the other and the Owner (who did the measurements and remembered the conversation) offered to fix the mistake. So I dropped off the other pair leaving the first pair (as the correct hem being the example and the other being re-​done) and had to pay for the work that was not done right and walking out with nothing… by the way the first mistake took two weeks.!!
Came back two weeks later (a month now) to pick up all four pairs of pants. They only presented three pairs! I had to convince them I was owed another pair (that was already paid for) presenting a receipt. When I went to try on the pants, one pair’s designer lable was melted from their iron. When brought to their attention, I was told that it was like that. I was unaware of the melted tag until I put it on and the waist was bunched up. I explained I wouldn’t bring a pair of pants in to get the hem altered if they bunched up around the waist.
I was there for 35 minutes while they waited on other people trying to get me to pay full price for now damaged pants. The Owner, brought her granddaughter 4 or 5, up to the counter raising her voice to argue the matter… It was such an uncomfortable situation with the little girl looking terrified that I just paid to get out of there. The ploy to shame someone into paying for damage goods by using a child is just horrible and I called CPS. sharp objects everywhere: needles, razors, shearing scissors, hot irons and a screaming Owner gripping a child in her arms.

I took 2 dresses in to be shortened and altered to fit my daughtera better. I was very clear as to what I wanted and Miriam appeared to understand. When I picked up the dresses neither one was right. I am still going to have one of them altered and the shoty work she did while I waited because she didn’t do it to being with looks horrible. You can see the raw edge and the stitch is far from professional. I was charged more than what she told me when I dropped off. Miriam tried to tell me that she took a hem up on one of my dresses, that didn’t require the hem to be done. She could not remember what she did or did not do to my dresses, even the women that actually worked on my clothes couldn’t remember what she did. Now after spending $ 100 on alterations I will still have to have someone fix the dress to fit my daughter. Worst customer service.

Fantastic business. Quick drop off and easy pickup. I had a dress and romper hemmed up because I’m short and when I tried them on at home, they were perfect! Thank you so much! Also, sooo affordable! My two outfits were $ 16/​each so $ 32. Great price. Great place. They have my business now for sure!!!

This place is far from elite. It’s basically a chop shop. If you need a quick fix you might get lucky with the quick part. Otherwise find a real tailor. They take shortcuts and their work does not last. They don’t pay attention to detail or requests. I’ve had many hems come undone and coat sleeves almost ruined because they don’t actually do any tailoring. They just tack a seam and repress to make it look the right length. It’ll look good when you walk out but later when you wear it a few times or have the garment dry cleaned, the errors will show and they are awful.

My bridal group and I took our formal dresses here. Big mistake and will never give them our business again. The alterations were horrible and the bust area looked so bad. Then they charged US to fix it!!! Ridiculous !!!

This little joint has always been my go to place for all my pant hemming needs. They do great work.
However, I once took 2 men’s blazers to them for slight alteration and was not truly satisfied with their work. One seemed like it hadn’t even been touched. When I wanted to work through trying on of the to be picked up items, they were very dismissive as they were too busy to accommodate any further support. Maybe even a language barrier.
I give them 4 stars none the less because I like every other job they have done for me and will continue to go back for my hemming needs and things of such nature.
For a small premium, they will even expedite your requests, some as short as a day.
I will continue to go back as I have experience much worse, and much better; but they are experienced, passionate, and skilled.

I needed to have a bridesmaid dress hemmed in a very short period of time — due to my own procrastination — so I took it to Elite Tailor. I was extremely impressed with the quality of work and the speed with which Miriam and her team was able to get the job done. They were extremely accommodating to my needs and fully delivered on their promise to fulfill the order in just a couple of days.
I have used other tailors in The Woodlands area in the past, but I will never go anywhere other than Elite Tailor now. On top of the impressive quality and speed, Miriam is very customer-​friendly (which is rare these days) and her prices are the most reasonable I have seen in this area. I would highly recommend Elite Tailor and will definitely be bringing my future tailoring needs to them.

Miriam and her group are hard working, fast and conscientious. I moved to The Woodlands area about 1 month before my wedding to be held in another state. She worked with me on getting my dress (purchased off the rack) to fit perfectly — she was kind and thoughtful and helped me get past all the nervousness about getting fitted and having my dress work and be comfortable. I’ll use them again and again.
They are hidden away in a corner of the strip next to an art outlet.

I think Elite Tailor would probably be fine if you were going for something simple like a pants hem. I had a blouse I wanted to get resized for me. I bought it while thrifting and really loved it. Anyhow I spent $ 30 for them to work their magic. It was smaller but they could have fixed it more. They also said the arm would hit in a different spot than it did when I got it back. She acted like she couldn’t do anything else for me and seemed really put out by the whole experience (or just talking to customers in general). I wish they would have taken the time to listen to me and actually give me the service that I desired. I also got jeans and skirt shortened. They were fine but they did change the hem of the skirt without specifying they would.
The woman who I guess was Miriam seemed ambivalent about everything and didn’t seem to feel any passion for this career.

She is great. she is fast and does great work!

Miriam does the most impeccable work around and her prices are beyond reasonable. If I have needed something in a pinch she has always «made it work». She has altered pants, jeans, taken in the waist on skirts for me and handled a VERY expensive and intricate Halloween costume for me and all have been excellent. There is no reason to go anywhere else for alterations!

Wonderful tailor! I know my bridesmaids dress was not the easiest with it’s material and the train, but she did an amazing job. Absolutely perfect! I’ll be back for sure.

Miriam, the lady who runs this place, is awesome! Anytime I need something altered, I take it here. I like my clothes to fit right so whenever I get a new suit, I have Miriam bring in the sides and adjust the sleeves so that they’re the perfect length (~$ 45). It makes an off the rack suit almost look like it was custom tailored. I also get all my slacks and jeans hemmed ($ 10/​each).
Although there are other workers, Miriam does all the measurements herself. She’s very quick but sometimes you’ll have to wait for a dressing room if it’s busy. Their standard turn around is about one week, but they will usually accommodate your request if you need it sooner than that.
It’s a little tough to find your first time but it’s right next to the Office Depot on the left side.

Good– They do really great work! Can hem just about everything. Re-​zippered a silk skirt beautifully, and even resized a leather belt for me. Thank you for taking such care with my special items!!!
Bad– Far from my house– curses!!! I never thought 6 years ago, I would EVER drive 50 miles, to get things done, but Texas my love you are far too BIG!!!
Ugly– Watch out for the Popo on the service road they will pop you if you have the need for speed! I have seen two people get tickets the times I have visited Elite. Slow down— you may miss the turn anyway u crazy drivers!!!
