Carter Moving and Delivery

The owner Gary Carter ended up overcharging us for extensive and long hours of loading and unloading when it was supposed to be a 5 – 6 hour move. He ended up charging us over 17 hours of labor. His workers worked for 10 hours straight and (Gary) the owner NEVER provided a meal for them AT ALL, I had to feed them that day. Gary and his men constantly ran out of supplies and said he had to go to Home Depot to «buy» more wrapping paper… and so on… That happened THREE times on the first day. In the after math, He damaged three big pieces of wood furniture to where they are now fractured and punctured. We were also missing a floor mat that I personally saw the guys load but never unload. We ended up including the police and filed a report for his unethical way of conducting business as he refused to compensate for damages. He then wrote an email to us after my many many attempts to reach him, and he mentioned he would pay the Texas legal minimum insured amount to us and to respond via email with the weight of damaged goods. I immediately answered with the info requested and sent him the weight of damaged goods. He has not responded since. I have tried numerous ways to get a hold of him with no luck for THREE months now. Stay away from hiring this company.

Can’t give NO STAR. The worst possible experience in a local move from a U-​Haul storage to an apartment. They ran way over the estimate and one of the helpers was using his phone and had to be told to answer your Facebook on your time. On top of the overcharge and long hours, they lost a full basket of my dress shoes. They remember it and remember putting it on the truck. They even came to my apartment to search for it… GONE! I filed a police report and have asked for an invoice and also to reimburse me for the $ 500.00 deductible I had to eat. No response and no help. These guys are crooks and there are other reviews to that effect.
Get ID’s and DO NOT USE CARTER MOVING IN HOUSTON.
