AAA Moving & Storage

If you are going with this company… I urge you to keep searching. We had a relatively simple move of only 13 items. We did most of our moving ourselves to save money and hired AAA moving and Storage from Hickory NC to move the larger and heavy items only 1.6 miles. My main item was a large U shaped desk. The movers, «Andy» and «Angel», were not professional and took many personal phone calls while they should have been working. A move that should have taken just two or three hours, took an entire day. They damaged my desk and now there is an unsightly chunk missing from the center. The workers even tried to hide the damage from me but fortunately, I had someone watching them during the time the damage took place. So they were dishonest on top of everything else. They must have dropped our leather reclining sofa because both reclining ends no longer work properly (the sofa is less than a year old). I only complained about the desk. «Denby» claimed it could be fixed and made an appointment for last Saturday (January 30, 2016). I stayed here ALL day and the repair man was a no show. I called and left two messages that were not returned as well as an email… also not answered. I finally got a call back last week and told them I wanted to file for the insurance since they failed to show up to repair their damage, but they do not seem to want to pay for the weight of this very large and heavy desk by the pound. The contract states that .60 cents per pound is insured. Because I no longer have any trust for this company, I requested that all communication be kept to email so I will have a record. It looks like this is going to become a legal issue and I am being forced to take them to court. NOT RECOMMENDED!!!

We used AAA Moving and Storage for our move to Florida from South Carolina; we chose them because they had did a local move for us a few years prior and did an excellent job with no issues. However, this move would be very different!
We were told one (1) day to pack and one (1) day to load; the packers did not show up on the first day until 10:00 AM which wasn’t an issue, we just thought they would stay late. Much to our surprise by 4:00 the packers ran out of boxes and had to leave with only about 50% of the house packed. I advised their management who promised to make it right. The second day they arrived again at 10:00 AM with the knowledge that we had a long drive ahead of us with a 6 hour drive to our half way destination. I again called AAA management who did react by sending out an army to finish the packing and had us on the road by 4:00 PM (this was the highlight).
When AAA Moving arrived at our new home in South Florida to unload, they did so very early which was quite pleasant, however that was going to be the upside of this day! The driver arrived by himself, when I asked where his help was he said he tried contacting people but was not looking good. Please keep in mind that we scheduled this December move back in October so it was not like they had short notice! I called AAA management again who advised me the driver should have help and would get back to me; that was the last I heard from them! The driver had no help and proceeded to unload a 48′ truck and a pull behind trailer on his own. By noon he still had no help, AAA Management was not responding so myself and my family had to help unload a truck that we paid to have packed, loaded and unloaded. We helped this driver unload until done at 9:00 PM…13 hours! If we hadn’t helped he would have been there the next day!
The kicker… AAA Moving still charged me the full price for the move and to this day, still have not had a follow up from them! I give HUGE Kudos to the driver for the commitment and effort! I would think twice prior to using AAA Moving and Storage for long moves… go with a bigger name! They do have a subsidiary for local moved called Panther Moving; they did a great job on out local move!
I would never recommend AAA Moving and Storage! If I could give them Zero Stars I would! This was by far in the Top 2 worst moves in our moving history!

I cannot say enough positive praise about my experience with AAA Moving & Storage. I appreciate Todd making it happen and working with my schedule. I absolutely loved working with Blake & Larry for my actual move. I would totally recommend and use them again and again!

I have used this company on at least 4 separate occasions for moving and they have come through with flying colors each time. They are prompt and the crews they send out always take excellent care not to damage any furniture or items they have packed. The owner (Todd) is very responsive to any questions or concerns I’ve had and has a «can do» attitude that really puts you at ease when having to deal with the stress of a move.
The only word of caution I would advise anyone in the Charlotte area about using AAA Moving is that, since they are based out of Hickory, it could be a little more pricey than using a more local company. They have to add in $‘s to the estimates to cover gas and travel time etc. But on the other hand, you know your items will be taken care of and handled properly so in a way it kinda becomes one of those «you get what you pay for» situations.
Anyways, as always, I’d advise you to shop around and find a company and price point you are comfortable with. For this company though, I haven’t found better service yet.
