Established in 2012.

The Pain and Spine Specialists has gained the trust of hundreds of referring providers by offering a unique approach to the treatment of chronic pain. Our physicians and providers spend time listening to the individual patient needs and design a treatment plan that is unique to each patient’s diagnosis. The Pain and Spine Specialists also incorporate options that are not typical to most pain management centers. These treatments include Acupuncture, Chiropractic, Massage and Physical Therapies as well as holistic medicine. The primary goal for our centers are to improve functionality of each patient with the most minimally invasive approach.

Business Owner

Dr. Rao was born and raised in New Jersey. He obtained his undergraduate Bachelors of Science degree in Bio-​psychology from the University of Michigan and graduated with Class Honors and went on to earn his Medical Doctorate from St George’s University School of Medicine. Through his internship in Internal Medicine at Greater Baltimore Medical Center, he acquired a great deal of knowledge regarding the Pathophysiology of the human body and the corresponding challenging treatments required to improve patient’s lives. In addition, Dr. Rao added to this knowledge base during his residency in Anesthesiology at Albert Einstein College of Medicine/​Montefiore Medical Center where he was awarded Distinguished Honors in Neurological and Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology upon graduation.

Aside from his practice, Dr. Rao gives numerous lectures to the community and his colleagues discussing the advances in his field of Pain Medicine.
