It’s old school to find an owner of his meat market behind the counter today but not at Steve’s Prime Meats. This little gem store is so accommodating and everyone is very helpful and friendly. My catered order was perfection in every way and plentiful. The prepared dinners are delicious — especially the brisket dinner. The best!!!

This is the only place to go for fresh meat, chicken, fish and prepared foods. I have been going here way before Steve took over, he made wonderful improvements to an already great store. You will never get more tender chicken cut just the way you want. Even though their turkeys might seem expensive, you will find them extremely tender. The old saying of you get what you pay for is true here. Steve and his staff are fantastic.

My friends have told me about this place and I’ve eaten their turkey burgers at many a BBQ but I never pictured myself going there because I did not know where Congers was. Turns out only 20 min from my house. I came across it last week because my son had a baseball game there. I ordered sandwiches. I love sandwiches and so does my son. I ordered the Italian hero. It was sooooooo good!!! I can honestly say it was the best Italian hero I have ever had. Best cold cuts, fresh crisp greens, delicious roasted peppers. They have tons of prepared and frozen meals that looked amazing. My son and I agree, the best bread!!! I could not even finish ½ of my hero, I was soooo full! Delicious. Reasonably priced. Friendly, prompt service. Mom and Pop feel.

This is a real butcher with much better meat than you’d find in your local supermarket. Great and helpful staff. They have custom-blend burgers and sliders (we tried the short rib sliders for a small family BBQ and wow!) and will customize any cut you need. Also a full selection of prepared and ready-to-grill selections and catering services. It was worth the trip and the extra money to find good meat that actually has some decent flavor!

For an area with butcher’s — Steve’s is your only source for meats without traveling across the Hudson to Whole Foods and there selection is great. If you don’t see what you want definitely ask for it. I recently ordered 12 lbs of veal shanks for my osso bucco which was frozen — they cut up the meat/bones to my specifications and they were extremely helpful.
