This is the 3^rd time I’ve used Thrifty Moving. thanks guys (John, Tom and Michael) for another amazing, friendly and FAST move! I highly recommend Thrifty Moving however I won’t be using them again because they moved us into our DREAM house!!! Best to all!

This is eighth time I have used Thrifty Moving. Today, Kyle and Jay were my team and they were awesome! On time, friendly, and took great care in handling the furniture and other items, especially with a pair of 150 year old book shelves with glass doors. I highly recommend Thrifty Movers. You won’t regret it. They (all the team members I have worked with in the past) have made it a fun (as it can be) and effortless experience.

These guys are great. Kyle and Michael came right on time. The move took a little longer than expected, but that was not the movers fault since I underestimated the move. They moved quick with positive energy throughout. Great pricing and the little things like calling me the day prior to the move goes a long way with customer service. I highly recommend this business and will be using them in the future. They will also get the recommendation for anyone that I know that needs that services.

They were on time, took AMAZING care to wrap and move our belongings, and then to unwrap and place them in the new destination. Incredibly diligent — and as the other reviewers highlight, professional, polite, funny — and at the end of the job, each member of the A Team crew shook hands and wished us the best in our new home.
I’ve been telling everyone I know that if they need to move, they need to use this company — the pricing is beyond fair for what you get. Thank you Thrifty, so much. I’ll be calling you to complete the move as soon as we’re ready to go!

I’ve used Thrifty twice in the past year for a storage move and a new apartment move (3^rd floor, no elevator!). They are amazing whether you have a 2-​man or 3-​man crew. Most recent thanks to Jim, Oscar and Kyle. I sincerely appreciated their attentiveness to my belongings and time constraints. Reasonable and straightforward pricing, good communication with the owner and the guys, and very accommodating. I HIGHLY recommend Thrifty Moving!

I can’t say enough about this company! I moved to a 3^rd level with no elevators and I was amazed how professional James, Mike S and Tom were!!! They went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect every step of the way. Even when I didn’t think certain items were going to fit they all worked together to make it fit. I highly recommend this company and the team work they displayed is amazing!!!

Great company to work with, I highly recommend them to anyone who’d like to take the stress out of moving. The advice given on the phone is spot on, they are very flexible with dates and didn’t mind a bit when I ended up changing the date I initially planned my move.
The team came on time, they were all very experienced, very professional, happy to be there and most of all were very careful with our stuff, moving it around in the house, loading and unloading. They put everything where we asked them to when they unloaded and even moved things when we asked them to. Great service from this excellent company.

Jim, Oscar and CJ ROCKED today! I originally called to move my big items and ended up having them move almost everything I have going to my new home. They were polite, professional and were VERY careful loading and unloading. They were very gracious when I brought them lunch and I thanked them with big hugs and a well deserved tip. I highly recommend them and would use their service again!

Thrifty movers are terrific!!! I’m a mover and a shaker I guess to my frequent move history. Lol. I’ve moved from WC to WC, Martinez, Dublin and now Pittsburg. Yep that’s right Pittsburg, CA. Great restaurants and the marina, what’s not to like. Anyway, Jim and his crew are a blessing. They are nice, efficient and affordable. What’s not to like. Nothing. They are truly the best and my go to for movers. Thanks a lot guys for another great move.

So friendly. These guys made a point to be as friendly as possible. Really hard working as well. Give these guys a call, you won’t find any better!

The 5 gentlemen from thrifty movers who came to help my parents move were fantastic. Not only did they break down furniture from our former home, they noted where each piece went in our new home, and rebuilt the pieces for us. They moved everything in and were even willing to move things around for us! They were so friendly and willing to help. I’d recommend them to anyone needing a hand or 5… with their move!

Great teamwork. I called on a Monday, and John said they could move our furniture in Tuesday as I requested. Right on time, they moved our heavy armoire, bed set, stone dining set, fireplace, huge tvs, dressers and knight in shining armour. Awesome service and polite thank yous for our tips we gave.

This is my third move in three years. Used a different company each time because the ones I used the times before were awful. Extra fees, overcharges, etc.
Today Jessie, Jim and Kolbie ((I promised I’d list their names in alphabetical order so as not to show favorites) came out and were everything you could hope for in a moving company. Fast, courteous, friendly, polite and very professional. At the end, the price charged was exactly what was quoted to me over the phone and they finished right on three hours, so I paid the minimum.
if you have a move in the tri-​valley, call these guys — you won’t regret it! I know I will when I move again.

We used Thrifty Movers for our recent move and things went really smooth. From the initial interaction with Mark/​John to the great service provided by Cliff and Colby we couldn’t have been more satisfied. Prices were also very reasonable especially for the Tri-​Valley area.
Anytime I had a question in advance of the move Mark/​John always answered them and were
always extremely friendly/​pleasant.
We’ll definitely use them in the future and highly recommend them!

We moved from Danville to Clayton a month ago, and I’m finally getting around to writing the rave review that Thrifty Moving deserves. The crew included Tim and Colby, and was headed by John. All were professional, accommodating, had a great sense of humor, and we would hire them again. Most of all, their honesty and work ethic were outstanding. They wanted to get the job done properly and carefully for us, and their $ quote was right-​on. The crew treated our high-​end furniture with care, and when one of our bedframes was put together incorrectly, John returned to our house the following day and made it right. While here, he asked if there was anything else he could do for us, and he even moved a couple of heavy chests to a different room upon our request – talk about a great guy!
We definitely tipped John and his crew – they deserved it. And, just remember that moving is awful under even the best circumstances, but the Thrifty Moving company and crew made it bearable with their work ethic and honesty.
We would hire them again! How many other people would say that about their movers?

Used this company last week. Crew was nice and tried to be helpful in my face. I the mean time, stuff is lost, three big scratches in freshly coated hard wood floor, dent in ceiling, and king size bed put crooked together. I had to go back to my old place three times to fill up SUV with stuff they left behind. Who leaves a safe and suitcases etc behind??? They charged us $ 300 than quoted. My husband tipped the guys, not realizing the mess they left behind.
Anyway, i called Mike, one of the owners and he came over, fixed the bed, new tv cord, refunded some $$$. John and Mike made it right. I will now use them again next move.

I highly recommend Thrifty Moving!!! John, Dan & Ed were a top notch crew, who professionally wrapped and moved some heavy pieces, including my piano. Not only were they careful and conscientious, but also they were efficient & fun. Great personalities, great attitudes, and got the job done. I will definitely call them again, and you should, too!

Word of advice never tell your friends you are moving. Everyone’s phones suddenly break or go missing and they’ll never pick up. Then return your call after the move with an insincere apology with a side of lame excuse.
I get it moving sucks. You always feel like one of those hoarders on the TV show buried alive when packing all your stuff.
So not only do you feel like an social outcast with no friends or family to help you, you also feel as if you have a psychological disorder by the sheer amount of stuff you need to pack.
My dilemma was that I had to load most of my stuff into a POD and move the essentials into a temporary apartment. Double the move, double the sadness.
Fortunately my coworker (who was «busy» during the weekend of the move) recommended Thrifty movers to me.
The crew they sent were named John, Jim, Tim, and Christian.
Christian the mega ripped dude who seemed to have mastered P90X and was on P91X.

Jim the master packer. Somehow fit a three bedroom house into a POD.
John the ringleader. Got the crew running like a well oiled machine.
They came in, helped us pack (we only packed about 60% of our stuff when they arrived), loaded the POD, transported the rest of our stuff to our new place, and unloaded in 6 hours.
They seemed to have fun and made what was a stressful situation into a fun time (as much fun as one can have heaving loads of my wife’s clothes up and down stairs. I mean seriously honey do you really need 50 pairs of black pants?)
I would definitely recommend Thrifty movers ESPECIALLY ask for Christian, Jim, Tim, and John to my friends, family, and random strangers across the street.

These guys were great! James, Tim, and Kolbe were professional, efficient, helpful, and very careful with moving all of our stuff! We will never move ourselves again!

We used Thrifty Moving to move our furniture from our 2 bedroom townhouse to our new 3 bedroom house.
I filled out their online form and heard from someone within just a few minutes. After a brief but thorough question and answer period, I had a quote and a list of the available days/​times around the time when we were hoping to move. The quote was complete and it was nice to know exactly how much the move would cost.
We moved all the small stuff ourselves which greatly decreased the cost of our move. I got a confirmation call the day before. We had a noon to 3 pm window and I got a call at 11:45 letting me know that they would be there at 12:30. We had a two guy crew and they were quick, careful and friendly. Our move took exactly 3 hours which is great because that was the minimum charge. ($ ³²⁵⁄₃ hours. Additional hours were quoted at $ 85/​hour.)
I was pleased with our choice of moving companies. I would say that we would use them again although I really hope not to be moving again any time soon.
