If you want to seriously overpay to have a zipper repaired, then this is the place for you. $ 35 is an incredibly INSANE amount of money to pay for this type of service. Not to mention, the zipper I had repaired wasn’t even full length. I won’t be surprised if this place doesn’t last much longer. I’ll never come here again!

They have done a great job on repairing my heels. New soles and taps for heels look great. I will return. They are very nice as well and turn around time is quick.

I had brought in a pair of wedges to get cleaned up and repaired. The owner gave me a quote of a high price and started negotiating the price down to something more reasonable. I told him that I would rather buy a new pair of the same shoe for the price he told me so he brought the price down ten dollars. He specifically told me that he would make the shoes look like new but said I would have to pay up front first. I thought about it, what if he did not do the job, would I still have to pay the 40 dollars without knowing for sure if it would come out to be worth 40 dollars, but I still paid.
a week later, no call, and I was at the Sun Valley Mall so I decided to come in and pick them up. The front looked good but when I looked at the heel, they were still dirty and broken. He told me that it would cost 14 dollars for the paint (extra). This made NO SENSE. If I came to him to get my shoes cleaned and repaired, then wouldn’t you think they would do the WHOLE shoe?
I dislike dishonest greedy people and this may seem very small, but it’s scams like this that lose really good long time customers.
I understand business may be slow, but if you run a business with dishonesty and greed, there is no success in that. I am SO upset because now I have to wait for my shoes again and pay extra because HE FAILED TO TELL ME what would be DONE to my shoes. He did a half ass job only so I can pay more.
Please do not support this kind of business.

Very good work and fair pricing for the speedy fix. I had to get my daughters shoe strap fixed and it ended up better than expected.

I split both the soles of my riding boots and wore through the heel cap, into the heel base. They are, however, the most comfortable boots I have ever owned.
I priced repairs in the city and was quoted $ 60. I thought it was steep so I decided to check the cobbler at the mall. I was quoted $ 55. I also wanted to soles replaced with rubber because I was tired of slipping and embarrassing myself. I wasn’t prepared to pay first but they took my boots anyways. Having checked with another cobbler, I know the price is legit.
FIVE STARS on the quality of their repairs. I’m a heavy walker and I wanted a little more meat on my heels. My boots were totally redyed and they look fantastic. I believe in paying more for lasting quality and comfort and treating your shoes like an investment. The price of the repairs are still cheaper than a pair of new cheap boots that are uncomfortable and last a month.

I took 3 pairs of sandles to this store for repair. First pair needed a sole since they got slippery, the 2^nd pair, one of the strap came loose needed to be glued back in, the 3^rd pair only one of the sandle has a tiny thread knot that made my toe hurt. The guy said these were a lot of work and wanted to charge me $ 65, we finally settled for $ 50 in cash to be paid up front. Three hours later I went back, the one with the sole job looked ok. The one needed glue was very sloppy job, my 10 year old daughter could do better than that. The one with tiny thread knot, nothing was done and the guy took it back, a minute later he came out and I felt it was gone so I left and only found out when I got home that he basically just cut off that thread knot and the thread could loose at anytime. I will never go back to that store, they charged too much and the work was poor.

FOOLED ME TWICE!

I walked in the shop yesterday to retrieve my items after leaving them for 4 days. There were 5 or 6 men sitting around the front of the shop. Employees? Friends of an employee? Certainly not customers. I handed one gentleman who appeared to be an employee my ticket. After about 5 minutes of digging through what was presumably a backroom storage closet, the man returns with 4 bags. He needs me to tell him which ones are mine. It seems that they don’t feel the need to label items as they come in to the store. I inspect the items and point out that in one case the job is less then satisfactory and in another case totally botched. I asked for the job to be done according to our agreement. He says he can’t do the repair and promptly calls someone on the telephone and hands the phone to me to explain the situation. I now have an audience of several «Friends» of the store while I try to request a resolution. The man (manager?) on the phone says that he will return to the store in 2 hours and that I should leave the items for him to inspect. I told him that I had already left the items in his care for 4 days and that I would be unable to return and would like a refund. «Unfortunately, he can’t authorize a refund». I guess this wasn’t a manager after all? Who was I talking to? Perhaps an employee who just pocketed the cash? That’s not really my concern. My only concern is that I get what I pay for…

Northface Backpack
I brought in a really nice Northface backpack to have a small pocket zipper replaced. They replaced the zipper with what appears to be the smallest (and probably fake) ykk zipper ever. Did I have to tell these guys to match the zipper with the other zippers on the bag? Apparently so. The zipper itself is tough to open — the sewing job is poorly done. Stevie Wonder could have done better.

I also brought in my wife’s KateSpade purse to have a busted seam sewn up. What I got in return was a half closed poorly glued purse. Basically ruined.

Mistake #1
My first mistake was that I went to The Shoe Stop in the first place. They botched a job on a pair of my boots about 6 years ago when they were on the other side of the mall. I swore I would not return, but after so many years I hoped maybe something would change.
Mistake #2
If you’re bringing items in for repair they are probably quality pieces. You paid good money for them or they have some sentimental or monetary value. Do yourself a favor and take your things to a place that cares.
I have had great luck with repairs in the past at Hi-​Tech Shoe Service.
They are professional, talented and cheaper to boot! I should slap myself across the face for not taking my things to these guys. They are literally 5 minutes away!
Mistake #3
My third mistake. I payed up front. NEVER PAY BEFORE THE JOB IS DONE! The man at the counter assured me that he could do the jobs perfectly. He wanted to charge me $ 40 for each repair. I said that seemed excessive. We agreed on $ 70 for both repairs. I was in a hurry and allowed that to cloud my better judgement. Don’t make that same mistake. NEVER PAY UPFRONT!
So that’s the story folks. I’m not a spiteful person. I have had good and bad experiences with businesses over the years. I wish that I took the time to point out more of them. I’m a busy father and husband and my time is limited but I felt compelled in this instance because THESE GUYS WILL ACTUALLY STEAL FROM YOU. The reality is, nearly every item in that store can purchased at other locations in the mall and most likely for cheaper. AVOID THIS PLACE
As a final piece of advice — please don’t be fooled by these positive reviews. Their one saving grace is the location — but SOMEBODY gave them a 5 star review because they moved across from McDonalds? Give me a break…

Great News! Shoe Stop only relocated at the other end of the mall across from McDonalds on lower level near Sears. Wish they would have placed a sign at their old storefront. Yayyyyyy!!!

Not happy with them, but at least their job was ok on my boots and belt, but the boots are starting open right now, and their charge is outrageous, maybe because of the location.

They have definitely gone downhill. After going here for the last 3 years, they have damaged 2 pairs of expensive boots. After bringing my boots to a different business to have them fix what shoe stop did, I was told shoe stop is using really bad chemicals on my boots which is damaging the leather. I have noticed shoe stop uses certain products which ultimately leave me coming back often at $ 30 a trip. For example, the spit shine they are able to do on the boots looks nice but after a few weeks, it starts cracking. I am unable to fix this and have to bring the boots back resulting in them charging me to strip everything off and reapply the spit shine which gets expensive after a few months. I dropped off my latest boots (brand new out of the box) to have them apply leather luster which is an alternative to spit shine that lasts much longer. They told me it was $ 60 to strip off the factory coating and to apply the leather luster. I picked up the boots today and they look like they were shined with a snickers bar. Whatever they put on was definitely not leather luster (as leather luster leaves a nice smooth polish that is very shiney and what I picked up today was anything but) plus they damaged some of the threading on the boot. This will be my last trip to this store.

My wife took her heels here to have a strap repaired and charged her $ 35.00 up front she went to pick them up today and they are all scuffed up and there is clamp marks on the strap area. She told the guy there that she has to wear these to a funeral tomorrow he kept shaking his head at her like he knew they were bad and kept saying she would have to «take it up with the owner» Well not happy not going to recommend or use them again unless they rectify this but now a little late considering she will need to wear them tomorrow. not sure how the «owner» can rectify it !!
I work in an industry and have contact with 100s of people a month word of mouth goes a long way and if not taken care of will make sure to bring it up to a lot of people what happen to customer service happening right now or let me see what I can do right now instead take it up with the owner and not take responsibility …

Had some height taken off of my bridal shoes. Everything turned out well. $ 25 to take of ¾ of an inch. Kind of pricey, but my shoes fit well and the ¾ of an inch made a real difference at the end of the day. Also, my white-​white shoes stayed white-​white, which I was a little concerned about giving them to the shoe repairmen. Turnaround was 3 days.

A bit pricey but they do a fantastic job! Almost threw out my favorite pair of Marc Fisher boots before deciding to try and have them saved. Shoe Stop resoled, polished and weather-​proofed, and put in a new insole for $ 85. Like I said, pricey, but these are my favorite shoes and to buy them new would have been another $ 300. I will be back.

Not happy with this place in the least. I have never taken any footwear or luggage to be repaired there, but they make keys so that’s what I’m reviewing here.
I had to get quite a few keys made for work and I figured I was in the mall anyway so I stopped in to see what they can do for me. The man working was nice enough and was able to start making the keys right away which is nice. He told me to come back in about 15 minutes.
I come back, get my keys and pay him $ 25 for 5 keys. Wow. Orchard Supply Hardware charges about half that and most of the keys they make actually work the first time around, which brings me to my next point which is, no, the keys did not work. First he used the wrong blanks so I had to go back and have him remake them with the correct blanks, which I pointed out to him. He re-​cut them using the correct blanks this time, but when I tried them out at work, they still didn’t work. I held the key copy side by side with my original key and saw that the teeth on the copy did not line up with the original keys.
I am furious at this point. They refuse to give refunds as well. They’ll remake them once or twice, but no refunds whatsoever. I’m out $ 25 and no spare keys. Take your business elsewhere, people. It’s not, at all, worth the headache.
Side note, he also got into a verbal confrontation with one of my coworkers before and I know my coworker is not the type of guy with a quick temper. He’s very level-​headed so that leads me to believe that this guy at Shoe Stop doesn’t think he makes mistakes. Yeah, buddy, you do. Maybe it’s time to get into a line of work that you would actually be good at instead of arguing with people all the time and ripping them off.

I took a passenger bag there to have the stitching reinforced. The job was sub-​par, as they only reinforced one side, when I requested both. The price was outrageous. They didn’t really seem to care.
I will not be going back.

I came here last minute to get my shoes shined before I attend a meeting tonight. They were able to do it me last minute and did a great job. The only disappointment was paying $ 20 for it. It is very pricey but they do a great job.

I had a pair of vintage boots that I wore the heck out of and had sitting in my closet for nearly two years because I didn’t want to part with them, but there was hope! Shoe Stop beautifully replaced the whole bottom sole and its now so sturdy and thick, that I’ve barely scuffed them… I usually tear my shoes up pretty quick. Sooo happy with the work that was done. I definately recommend them and will be heading over with plenty more poor, sad, worn out shoes.

Shoe Stop in Concord has fixed several of my family’s items: belts, zipper on backpack, purse straps, shoe straps, etc. The best they’ve done for me is when they replaced the heels on my old brown Suede Boots. Their replacement looks even better than the original. In fact, my boots are even less slippery — a plus for 3″ heels. When I get compliments on my «new shoes», I let folks know I got them from Kinney’s. (If you’re old enough, you’ll know these are old boots.) Once in a while I’ll go to the Antioch shop if in the area, but generally I prefer Concord, because I really like their quickness, price and overall result.

Love this place! I’ve been having all my shoes repaired here for years. They are very friendly, helpful and typically have my shoes done in 24hrs. Their work is awesome too. Heels are always replaced perfectly, they fix all my skuffs and scrapes all over the shoe and shine them up nicely. They come out looking new again!

Incredible craftsmanship! Shoe Stop made a pair of custom shoes for me. The quality, the fit, and comfort is better than any other pair of shoes I’ve ever bought off the rack. Will definitely go back!
