We offer all forms of sedation, including I.V. sedation. Our staff is made up of well-​trained professionals who work together as a team to bring you the highest quality treatment in a warm, caring setting. Our office hours are Monday to Friday, 7:30 am to 5 pm, with 24-​hour emergency service available.

History

Established in 1972.

We would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to our office. We provide our patients with quality care in all phases of surgical and non-​surgical endodontics. Our root canal specialty practice was started by Dr. Richard Weinstein in 1972. Dr. Scott Cohen joined the practice in 1995 and Dr. Mark Stevenson joined in 2001. Dr. Cohen and Dr. Stevenson took a series of tests to become board certified endodontists. Both doctors provide oral sedation (sleep dentistry) and nitrous oxide sedation, but Dr. Stevenson also received a license to provide IV sedation in our office. We promise a painless experience.

Dr. Cohen received a B. A in computer science from U.C. Berkeley in 1988 and a D.D.S. from U.C. San Francisco in 1993. He then received a certificate in endodontics from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 1995 and obtained board certification in 2000.

Dr. Cohen speaks Spanish and Japanese and his interests include tennis, skiing and photography.

Dr. Mark Stevenson and his staff go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable. They take their time to explain the procedure and then take all actions necessary to make the procedure quick and easy. The level of care and attention is among the best I have ever received.

Outstanding dentist but totally corrupt and dishonest business manager. Bill and collect from my PPO insurance in full then send me another bill asking for way above and beyond what my insurance already pay and guide. I pay additional $ 100 co pay per insurance claim adjuster fee schedule
Sorry for these who don’t even have insurance because this business manager charge additional 50% markup above usual and customary fee schedule.
Very unfortunate having a great dentist with dishonest and corrupt business manager who should be fired and loss their provider network contract.
Fraud Alert, just to make sure this wouldn’t happened to you, check fee schedule and wait for your insurance statement, before writing a check.
Also make sure your insurance company listing this provider in their contracted provider network directory. If this provider is out of your PPO network, they can charge way and above usual costumery fee schedule.
Needles to say it was my first and last experience, I change to different dental provider who adhere and comply with insurance fee schedule which is 50% below.

I was referred to Dr. Cohen’s office after biting down on a kernel of kettle corn and knew my tooth was in bad shape. My regular dentist was out on leave and I needed help quickly. Dr. Cohen’s office was able to get me in at 4:45pm on Monday (I received my referral at 2:00).
When I arrived, I was greeted with warm smiles and didn’t have to wait very long to be seen. The diagnosis was a need for a root canal. Dr. Cohen and his assistant, Stacy, were amazing. So kind, so understanding, explained everything and stayed late to help me. I left the office at 6:40 and who knows when they were able to go home. I know many professional offices that close up at 5:00 and would’ve had me return the next day for help. But not this office; they stayed until the root canal was finished and even did the permanent restoration so I wouldn’t have to see my dentist to get that done.
I’m so grateful and so impressed by the staff at this facility. When I need endodontic work in the future, I will make sure to go here. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart for helping me!!!

Dr. Stevenson is amazing… I felt so comfortable, his skills and knowledge were much appreciated and the personal follow ups were unexpected and made you feel like he genuinely cared for me. So very happy with the results! I strongly recommend for anyone (like me) who has had facial/​tooth trauma etc!!!

No words to exactly describe how amazing this practice is. Dr. Cohen is seriously the BEST at what he does. I just left their practice not too long ago for a root canal. I experienced NO pain and overall had the best dental experience. Dr. Cohen made what would seem like the most uncomfortable procedure the most comfortable! He was very reassuring, professional, kind and honest. His assistant Lori also made me feel at ease once I was brought in for the procedure. Dr. Cohen and Lori were very thorough with any questions I had. I wish I had Unilocaled this practice sooner because I was so scared of actually getting a root canal done! If you’re looking for a professional, top notch and caring practice. Dr Cohen is the Endodontist you will want to go too. There are really no words to say how awesome this practice is! Dr. Mark Stevenson did the most amazing work on my son’s front teeth recently. My son had a traumatic bike accident a year ago that left the top incisors broken and with uncertain prognosis long-​term. The teeth were restored at another location and it was «watch and wait» to see if the nerves would ultimately survive. A year later, they both developed abscesses and he was suddenly in a lot of pain. Dr. Stevenson saw him very promptly and treated the teeth the same day without having to make a second appointment. He explained everything to my son and his flawless technique made the visit painless and a total success. Besides his consummate skill at his profession, I would have to say I have hardly ever met a person as genuine, kind and compassionate as Dr. Stevenson. There is something very special about him that comes through in every facet of his interaction with patients and their families. Office staff are terrific: caring, professional, so friendly! If you need a root canal, don’t go anywhere else, go see Dr. Stevenson!

Dr. Cohen helped fix a long term infection in a preexisting root canal. He was my second opinion from another endodontist that didn’t make me feel right about my situation. Dr. Cohen answered all my crazy questions, was calm through-​out my rambling and fixed the situation extremely professionally. Everyone on staff was extremely nice and understanding, and made the experience more tolerable. It’s been a little over a month now, and everything seems to be doing well with my mouth, and I certainly hope it stays that way because endodontists are expensive. Thanks Dr. Cohen!

Fantastic staff, very communicative and friendly. Dr. Stevenson professional, efficient, and did fantastic job. He also called several days later to see how I was doing. Never needed more than an Advil for 36 hours after my root canal to control any discomfort. Very reasonable bill as well. Could not be more pleased.

Was traveling to San Francisco from LA when my tooth start to really hurts! Got the number of Scott Cohen through my cousin, i was under serious pain Scott told to come without appointment and after 20 minutes on his chair and his highly skilled hands, I was after root canal and very ease. …thank you Dr Cohen.

One week ago I had the worst toothache, swollen cheek and chin with numbness and tingling. Put on antibiotics and referred to Dr. Stevenson. Yes, a root canal was needed. Many people hear those two words and are terrified! I had the advantage of going in not feeling like that, my husband had work done by Dr. Stevenson previously. He is so reassuring, kind, gentle and will answer any questions you have. I was so relaxed and did not stress out! If ever in that same position again I will get to Dr. Stevenson’s office as soon as I can.

After serious dental phobia from traumatically painful (financially and physically) experiences at the hands of several dentists, I seriously lost it when I found out I had to have a root canal. I put it off forever. Believe me when I say that there is absolutely no way you are more afraid of dentists than I am.
And yet… I cannot recommend this office more. I ride out from Oakland just to see Dr. Stevenson. I trust him 200%. His work is phenomenal. The endodontist who referred me (who, btw, is a 3rd generation dentist) gets all of his work there and has the highest professional opinion.
His chairside manner is impeccable, his staff is really gentle. I hope I never have to get another, but if I do, I will fly, drive, or teleport… whatever I need to do to get back to Dr. Stevenson. God bless him! No pain whatsoever.

I had an emergency referral to Dr. Stevenson this week. After my regular dentist ran into complications with my root canal. I was very nervous but Dr. Stevenson has an extremely calming and reassuring demeanor that makes all the difference. He’s very gentle with shots too. His office is state of the art. They hand you a tablet computer instead of a clip board. They have two computers in each room one for the assistant and one for the doctor. The x-​ray machine is also computerized. He was able to save the tooth in question. These guys aren’t cheap either but you get what you pay for. The doctor also called me the next day to
I was doing.
So why not five stars? As he as was finishing up the proceedure the shots were starting to wear off quick. He noticed I seemed in pain… his answer, to have the dental assistant bring me 3 over the counter motrin. OK, that’s reasonable, I had to drive home. Considering the work he did I would have rather he handed me an Rx for a dozen vicodin or the like. I was hurting later that night, however two days later the major toothache that brought me to his office is completely gone.
If you’re nervous about dental work, I would highly recommend Dr.Stevenson.

Since my initial treatment here I have moved to Oregon but I got in touch with Mark and the team to ask for advice on a new root canal treatment it was looking like I needed to have done. I was getting conflicting opinions form a few Drs here but I know that Mark is very good at his work so I asked him to review my case as we. He was very kind and did do this for me even though I haven’t been in for 6 years. So in short my 5 star review still stands and I’d give six for exemplary service if I could.

I hate dental work. Unfortunately, I have had three root canals in about five years. Fortunately, my dentist referred me here. I’ve seen Dr. Cohen twice, he was super efficient and professional.
Today’s root canal was done by Dr. Stevenson. He has a very calm and reassuring demeanor. He explains everything he’s doing. I am usually full of anxiety during a root canal, but I was totally relaxed. Maggie the RDA was awesome as well.
Root canals suck, but if you need one, go see these guys.

I usually do not write reviews for Unilocal since I am a young teen, but Dr. Stevenson is amazing at what he does. I had the most severe anxiety about getting this root canal done on my back molar and I freaked out over nothing. I was so relaxed and calm in the chair. I drove 25 miles just to get a root canal done here. If you ever need to get one done, go there. They’re the best.

First let me tell you all that I’ve been on a dental rollercoster from hell. I been going to the Veteran Affairs to get most of my dental work done. However, for the past year, I’ve had an off and on again abcess/​cracked tooth and pain from hell. The Veteran Affairs 3 Dentist could not fix it. Only Dr. Cohen could! I have a VERY high pain threshold becasuse of my Fibromyalgia and Lupus. Dr. Cohen took over a year of torture and had my calcified root canals done in less than a half hour. He was able to save my tooth from extraction and did everything with such care, precison and attention to detal! I kid you not… It was like he was «Superman» with the drill and a «single bound». Which made me less scared. Not to mention the office and services are very high tech, with online registration which makes the service seamless the office time down to getting to the «root» of the problems. The staff are kind and friendly and all my nightmares of «mad dentist» for now, have been laid to rest.
I would recommend Solano Endodontics and Dr. Cohen to anyone whose tooth problems are in need of precision, care and just awesome dental experience. I never thought in a million years i would be bragging like hell on Unilocal about a damn root canal… LOLOLOL!

When you doze of in the middle of a 1 ½ hour root canal procedure, you know you’re in the hands of an excellent dental surgeon.
Dr Stevenson was absolutely professional, reassuring and gentle. If you’re unfortunate enough to need a root canal, this is the best place you could end up.
