R-Computer

Since we started buying PC’s in the mid-90’s we have been buying them from R-​Computer. There was one exception when I bought one from a discount retailer; what a mistake! We have purchased at least six computers (maybe more) from them. They offer quality products, not the junk that a lot of the retailers sell that have been slapped together from whatever parts are the cheapest at that moment. We’ve had very, very few problems with the systems we’ve purchased from them and when there is a problem their service department is great! When I have an issue a five minute call to their technical department usually leads to a quick, over the phone fix. They are the best!

I was really impressed with the service I received recently when I brought my laptop in to R-​Computer. Keith kept me apprised of what my machine needed, how much it would cost, when I would get it back. He patiently answered all of my many questions. My computer is running so smoothly now. I will not hesitate to bring any of my computers in to this business in the future.

This is another 5-​star review for the service you get from the engineers/​technicians at R-​Computer, my kind of high-​tech service company. I have an old Lenovo Idea Notebook that has been useless for years, in spite of new hard drive and more ram memory added to it. It would always crash and would never shutdown, except when I force it to. I thought there was a virus in it and I wanted to format the whole drive, but could never do it even with instructions from Lenovo. Went to the Geek Squad snd was totally disappointed. Somebody suggested R-​Computer and talked to Keith Mundt. Very nice man and very knowledgeable on computers. He gave me a quick tip on how to reload the original Windows 7 that was preloaded in the computer, and gave me a copy of the installer and would not charge me anything for it. Followed his instructions and I have a working Lenovo now — just like new. Thanks much Keith. You’re wonderful.

A very reputable company that has been in business for years. We’ve taken many «broken» computers to them. They provide reliable diagnosis & repair at reasonable cost. The quality of service is much better than from other companies. Recommend them highly!

I have been a client of R-​Computer for over 15 years. They have been great. I have bought two computers from them. Lately they accessed my computer remotely and took care of an issue. They have always taken care of everything. Now I don’t even have bring it to them. It keeps getting better! Thanks R-​Computer!

Look no further for a computer repair/​information/​advice store. This business is by far the best place that I’ve ever dealt with in the Bay Area. They are professional, honest, and knowledgeable. There has always been a quick turn around for getting our computers back if we need to leave them for service. I have even gotten free advice on the phone on how to fix my computer.

Helpful, prompt, attentive, and most importantly — COMPETENT.
Wish it cost a little less given the incredible efficiency of the repair, but sometimes you have to pay experts a little more who take a little less time than your average hack.
Lucky they had the part I needed, a laptop LED screen, 25 minutes after I dropped in, I was left with a much cleaner (they wiped it down for me) and working laptop.
Kudos in particular to Jason for his straightforward and quick repair.

I am not a big Unilocal writer and it takes a pretty strong feeling about a business
to cause me to write about my experience.
Well, my recent experience at
R-​Computer meets all the criteria and it is with pleasure that I write the
following 5-​star to help you pick them as your next computer service company.
I am writing
to give my most enthusiastic 5 star recommendation for R-​Computer in Concord.
My laptop computer screen went black and I took it to R-​Computer for repair. First time I ever went there – but I loved how the fellows sounded on the phone when I called in with my problem.
After one week, I was called and told that whereas the part had come in, it was
not up to the standard of the technician doing my repair and he asked if I could
wait a little longer for him to send back the substandard part and get it
replaced. I said sure, and was impressed that he didn’t just put the part in,
return it to me only to have it fail again.
A few days later, I got the call
that my computer was repaired, fully tested and ready for pickup. I told them
I’d be in for the laptop in 3 – 4 days. About 3 days later I received a call
from R-​Computer telling me that they had suffered a break in «smash and grab»
where the crooks smashed a window with a rock and grabbed about 8 computers and
ran. Mine was one of them.
Mind you, R-​Computer (which has a gorgeous interior) has a state of the art security system and the burglars, with
their hoodies hiding their faces were videotaped. Their system sends a signal
to the police, but unfortunately the burglars were in and out before the police
could get there.
Fortunately, I was completely backed up on a separate hard
drive at home (the most important thing you can do!!), and fortunately only
suffered the loss of a 6 year old HP laptop.
This is where the story gets juicy — cause this is where R-​Computers
really distinguished themselves.
Dawn Roth, an owner of the company, called
me personally to express her apologies for what had happened. Everything about
her just glowed with kindness and empathy. I actually tried to ask after her
also, since I know how she must have felt quite violated after having suffered
such a break in. She told me that I should go out and purchase identity
protection from the vendor of my choice and that R-​Computer would pay for
it.
More than that, she said that her company would replace my computer with
a brand new system at no cost to me. I later learned that her insurance company
gave her less than $ 100 for my old laptop. The system she bought, brand new,
for me was state of the art, HP laptop with windows 8.1 with all the latest bells and whistles, including a picture of bill and melinda gates (suitable for framing) and retails for about $ 900.
They received the computer at their company, did
the initial set up steps for me, and I picked it up in its original packaging a
few days later.
I can’t say enough about this company. From the front
desk/​check in where you will meet incredibly knowledgeable and friendly computer
experts who totally exude massive assuredness and enormous quanta of über – geekability, right up to the owner of the
company, they put everything out there for me and then some.
Keep in
mind — they did not have to give me any more than the insurance company gave
them (less than $ 100), but Dawn Roth wouldn’t take the cheap and easy way out,
instead insisting that I allow them to replace it with a brand new system 9
times more valuable. Throughout the ordeal, she and her staff kept me posted,
followed through on every commitment and even gave me the police updates (they
didn’t catch the bad guys).
They already had a beefy security system,
including a roll down metal door at the front entrance (the burglars broke out a
side window) and they are going to upgrade their security system also (welcome
to our world).
They have earned a customer for life (me) along with anyone
else I can send their way. The theft of my computer was a fork in the road
moment where those who really care about the customer versus those who are doing
the minimum to get by and nothing more part ways. This company, from top to the
bottom, only knows the high road – and is where you should go for any computer
needs.
I’m gonna go out on a limb and tell you I was so happy with them, that I am recommending you take a shoe, a hammer or a can of spam and break your computer just so have the pleasure of meeting with and working with these folks.
I can’t promise you a rose garden or a break in followed by a free upgrade, but hey, you’ll still be a happy camper. Besides, you will have to go see them – If you have never tried getting spam out of your motherboard – it’s harder than you think. Leave the heavy lifting to the spam picker gurus at R-​computers. Tell them to save the spam, take 2 slices of bread when u go to pick up you computer and voila– you’ve got a snack to eat in the car on your way home!

Everyone was polite and informative here. Even got my computer fixed for less than we thought. Had a completely shattered screen and was able to pick it up the next day all fixed. My husband did all the store communication and being not tech savvy he felt very supported and had a positive experience.

These folks are incredible and bend over backwards to help you. My compnay has used them for several years and I use them for my personal computer needs also. They have always gone above and beyond and Ed and his team are most helpful and informative. Highly recommended!

I don’t know shit about computers and I didn’t know what was wrong with my laptop. I brought it here and they were able to find the problem, explain it to me, and then fix it. It was super easy, plus Keith was super chill AND informative. I would definitely recommend this place.

I heard of R-​Computer from someone that I work with and they said that they do computer repair and that their customer service is outstanding, so I figured I would take my laptop in because it was running really slow! I really liked that they were located in Concord because I prefer to spend my money in my local economy. I brought my laptop in and the service techs were really nice and they seemed very knowledgeable. They ran a full hardware diagnostic and just found that my machine needed a tune-​up. 3 days later I had my laptop back in my hands and it has never run this fast before! Thanks a lot R-​Computer; you have a customer for life!

This tech shop is the BEST ever! They’re very knowledgeable, HONEST, professional, and great customer service with competitive prices. FANDAMTABULOUS!!!

My computer got infected with a virus. My sister referred me to r computer. They are open till 6:00pm so I was able to go there
after I got off work. The store is very clean and organized. When I walked in I put my computer on the counter and told them what the problem was. The gentleman «Jason» plugged it in quickly and easily right there on the counter. He started looking it over. He confirmed that there was a lot of malware and that there was some issues that seamed to be isolated to internet explorer. He said he could give it a tune up for $ 150.00 which seamed pretty reasonable, he said that if there was any viruses that he could fix them also, for only $ 50.00 more. He said it would take up to 2 days. So far I received very good customer service and am very happy with the price for them to do the work. I will continue my review when I get my computer back…
So I got my computer back and I swear it has never loaded this fast. I turn it on and theres the login screen,
I click on the Internet and whoop, there it is. It really runs better than it ever has before!
I’m so glad I didn’t have to buy a new computer, and it like I do have a new one. The people at R computer were very helpful and nice when I came to get it. I thought it was really cool that Jason called me with updates and was really concerned about the safety and recovery of my data almost more than I was. I felt very comfortable giving him the necessary passwords and info to apply changes and updates as needed. Thank you R computer, you rock! :)

I cannot say enough wonderful things about R Computer. I am highly impressed by the staff and their personable, down to earth, easy-​going nature. I have had the pleasure of working with Jason for my personal computer needs, and Shawn for my business. Just recently, I came to Jason 2 days before my sons birthday, I asked if it would be possible for him to install minecraft game, a few minecraft mods, set up some other accounts, and remove the virius that plagued their computer. I asked that all this be completed by his birthday, so that I could give it to him as a present. I don’t know how, but he was able to deliver. Since then, I have called Jason, with other random computer questions, he has always eagerly helped me, and has always been professional and courteous along the way. About a year ago, I called R Computer regarding issues with my business computers. I stated my concerns about the down time for the repairs, as I use them for business all day, every day. To my surprise, they offered to send a person out to my office to work on my computers on-​site. They sent Shawn, he was on time, professional, able to fixed every problem I presented, and then some. My computers are all running great thanks to R Computer and their staff. They have definitely earned my loyalty. I will never go anywhere else!

Been doing business with Marc and Rhonda for years. They are great and have never let us down. I wouldn’t dream of ordering hundreds of machines and printers anywhere else. Their customer service is great and they have always fought to get me the best deal they can.

We have been doing business here for years. They have been around forever and have stood the test of time. They are an hp reseller and I highly recommend purchasing your computers or equipment here because the service is worth it.
I’ve had tons of custom built machines, workstations, and now jumping into the servers it’s nice to know we have some support and people who know what they are doing, speak English, and care about their jobs.

A friend recommended R Computer and I am so glad she did! Rod has been phenomenal. I went in to have an Outlook problem fixed and Rod discovered that my hard drive was just about dead which explained all the other problems I’d been having. I ended up buying a new computer and he transferred all my info from the old computer so I was ready to go as soon as I got home. I can’t say enough good things about them!

Recently, (Oct. 2009) our very infected computer spent some time in this Pleasant Hill shop. Rod Romo was the man responsible for cleaning it up and bringing it back from the edge. Rod was both reassuring and informative as he walked us through the process of dealing with the problems.
