Mark Wong, DDS

I never thought I would be reviewing a dentist on Unilocal but Dr Wong and his staff are unbelievable. This is coming from someone who avoids going to the dentist at all cost. Dr. Wong’s office has completely changed this mindset for me as they make you feel so comfortable. They are professional, have state of the art technology, and every single staff member is so incredibly kind and welcoming. They go above and beyond to make your experience as pleasant as can be. By far the best dentist office I have ever come across!

Holy crap. There’s a reason every single review on here gives this practice five stars. I’m pretty sure I just had the best, most thorough, friendliest dentist appointment I’ve ever had in my life. Things they did that no other dentist has ever done:
1) Oral cancer screening
2) Offered me chapstick because my lips looked dry
3) Offered to turn on Netflix so I could be entertained during my cleaning. NETFLIX, PEOPLE. No 80’s poster of a grinning tooth model here.
4) Someone always stayed with me, until the next person could come — first the dental assistant hung out until Dr. Wong was ready, then even he stayed! and chatted with me! (after checking me out) until the dental hygienist was ready to do my cleaning!
5) Took pictures of my smile
6) Took my blood pressure
7) Started and ended the appointment exactly on time. Like, to the minute.
8) Offered me topical numbing stuff to take the edge off the scraping part.
I left with not just a toothbrush and some floss, but a whole goody bag with more chapstick, a pen, a gum stimulator, toothpaste, and a little baby tooth cleaner and baby toothpaste for my son, who wasn’t even with me. Jesus christ. I almost can’t wait to go back.
Their appointment system is a little more involved (and my first appointment did take 2 hours) than other dentists — first you come in for x-​rays and for them to just check you out, then you have to come back for a separate appointment for your cleaning, and you get several confirmation emails and texts and you have to fill out paperwork online beforehand, blah blah blah — but let me tell you, it’s worth it. I got lucky and I think somebody cancelled, so I was able to do my cleaning right after my initial check-​up, but even if I’d had to do them separately it would’ve been fine. They are just so damn nice.

Everyone is always friendly, and helpful! And of course.Dr. Wong is wonderful!!!

Dr Wong got me in for a same day appointment for a problem I had with my lower retainer. I thought I would need to go to an orthodontist but he not only took me in the same day, he was able to fix the problem! Best of all my insurance covered everything
He has great bedside manners too

I called Dr. Wong and left a message for an appointment request on a Sunday and to my surprise he called me back later that night! Immediately impressed. He was able to get me in sooner than ever expected and was able to take advantage of my remaining 2015 dental insurance allowance. The procedure was a breeze, seriously the most painless novocain shots of my life (that’s saying a lot, I’ve had my fair share!). Dr. Wong followed up after the procedure to make sure I was doing well and has been answering my questions regarding my healing process almost immediately.
Long story short, Dr. Wong is one hell of a dentist and overall great guy. I highly recommend him!

It is as good as it gets. Just returned from getting a crown. The technology is the latest, I’ve never had that process be so swift and easy. I like everyone Who works there. If you are looking for a new Dentist, I highly recommend this office.

I like my dentist and his staff they, are so friendly and very helpful. I don’t mind going to the dentist now.

Well, Where to begin?
I went to Mark in severe pain and infection with a deeply embedded fear of dentists from childhood experiences. Mark was understanding and patient. Today I am in no pain, no infections and have brought my daughter and mother in law into Mark’s practice. Next appointment — no problem! Sign me up.

Dr. Wong is awesome. They have a great staff, are very efficient and you never feel like thay are pushing anything that you do not really need.
Keep it up!

I have been looking for a dentist I can trust in the Concord/​WC area for years. I used to work as an RDA for 10+ years and I am very picky. I used to commute to downtown SF to see my dentist because I worked for her and could trust her. Once I had my baby, that became impossible.
Having worked in dental offices, there are things I look for to let me know if I want to be a patient for in a particular office. These things speak volumes.
1) Does the staff seem happy to be there, and are they friendly with each other? This lets you know that the dentist is good to his employees.
2) Is the office tidy and immaculate behind the scenes? This tells me the dentist is not understaffed and that his staff are well trained. Sloppy can also mean dirty.
3) Are the staff members also patients? This tells me that they trust the dentists to work in their mouth. So important!
The answer to all these questions are YES for Dr. Wong’s office. Beyond that, the hygienist was knowledgeable and through. Super sweet and friendly. Made me feel comfortable immediately. The same goes for his assistant and Dr. Wong. SO relieved to have found him.

I have been to see Dr. Wong and his staff several times. I haven’t had good experiences with previous dentists but with Dr. Wong, each visit is pain free and stress free. He reviews all options and his staff called my insurance to get exactly what is covered so I know what to expect.
I have several more appointments coming up for cleaning and crown work and I have no worries that these appointments will go smoothly!

Haven’t been to the dentist in a while, so I decided to Unilocal a place close to home. I spoke to the staff multiple times over the phone about my insurance policy and making an appointment. They were very polite and accommodating and walked me through the process step by step. The office itself is very clean and the professionalism of the staff exceeded my expectations by miles. Doctor Wong himself is super friendly and he takes his job and clients very seriously. Grade A dental offices like this are one in a million.

I have been coming to this office since before Dr Wong took over and my 17 year old daughter won’t go to anyone else. Dr. Wong did a fantastic job with her implant and front cap. Before seeing Dr. Wong she was petrified to have the procedure. He made it seem so easy and made sure she was alright from start to finish. The office staff is friendly, professional and personable. Margret and Chelsea are wonderful and have always been knowledgeable regarding our dental coverage. I always know what to expect ahead of time. Lara the dental hygienist is fabulous! You can not go wrong with this office! Thank you for the wonderful customer service.

This is a great office ! I have not had the best experience with dentists in the past. But Dr. Wong and his staff changed that. The atmosphere is great here. Dr. Wong takes the time to explain everything to you so you leave without any questions. He and his staff really go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. I’m glad I’ve became a patient with this office. Highly recommended!

We are so happy we found Dr. Wong’s office. He came recommended to us by his dental hygienist, who is very good as well. My uncle is a dentist (not close by) and I had him check my fillings and he said: «I wouldn’t have done it any better. He has done great work.» So this professional review gave me extra confidence in Dr. Wong.
Besides their professional capabilities, which is most important to me, it feels like talking to friends. All people in the office are great and easy to talk too.
My family and I would highly recommend this dental office. We drive all the way from Sacramento to go to here.

I found Dr. Wong through my dental care provider but I couldn’t be happier with my decision!
First – location. His practice is located in a really convenient area, relatively close to BART (so close to your commute), with sufficient parking.
Second – service. His staff members are super nice and accommodating. When I brought my then 1 yr old daughter for her ‘happy’ appointment, they made her feel comfortable and welcome considering how scared kids can be at that age.
Third – work. I don’t know how many teeth fillings he had to do but it was a lot (I had three separate appointments and was there about 1.5 hours each time) and so far everything is great. The procedure itself wasn’t too bad and they tried to make me as comfortable as possible by showing movies, giving me Chapstick, and frequently checking in if I needed a break. My regular checkups have been fairly pleasant as well, and who doesn’t like a goody bag with freebies at the end of the session.
Definitely recommend Dr. Wong to anyone looking for a regular dentist or someone who needs their cavities filled.
