Hendrick Toyota Scion Concord

So Hendrick Toyota has somewhat redeemed themselves and continues to do so if the service manager is able to continue with his amazing service. He seems to truly care about his customers so that means a lot. Wasn’t able to talk to the general manager as expected, and would have liked to about the timing and chaos dropping my car off, however Rick Mckenzie definitely stepped up to save the day. Silent sale was still silly but as far as my previous purchase and fixing my car, they definitely are trying and for that they get three stars. Still having a slight problem but come time for my next service we will see how things go. Stay tuned for full update and hopefully a five star recovery for service.. Thanks Rick!

Love coming here for service. The waiting area is kept pretty clean. Bathrooms are always pretty clean too. In the mornings they have donuts and they have coffee all day and water for tea. I typically bounce between two service men, Matthew B. and Mike S. and they both provide great service. I always get what I need done with no extra lectures or services they want to stick on me.
I’ve utilized the appointment system as well as walked in and have had great service on both ends.
The only critique I have is that I wish they had a Keurig system with some International Delight/​Coffeemate creamers. Typically, when you’re spending an hour or two stuck somewhere, coffee is a nice treat to enjoy while people watching, reading a book, or playing around with your technology toys. With this specific dealership serving as many people as they do and them having a multitude of visitors, you would think serving coffee from a pot with generic creamers and sugars would be a blast from the past.

Another day, another car we found online. In this case, it looks like it ticked all the boxes. In fact, if may actually tick more than all the boxes, so we decided to take a look at it. Unfortunately, it looked like no one else had done so in quite a while. At least, not with the intention of selling the car.
It might be that someone had taken the car for a joyride or something — there was trash (literally) in the back of the car. There was a nametag, like the kind you get at a convention or a Unilocal elite event, affixed to one of the visors. While a used vehicle, that had a few scratches here and there, this was not that. It was dirty, as if the kids had taken it out for the night after the parents went to sleep, brought it back into the garage before anyone was the wiser, and passed out, without cleaning it so that no one would notice. This car was really bad — and it was much worse than the pictures online, so it’s like they went through the trouble of cleaning it and then used it to make it worse.
Regardless, we were on our way out when the (a?) manager stopped us and asked if he could give us a chance at another car. Specifically, he suggested that he could offer us the same features, on a new vehicle, for the same price, would we be interested? Well of course. After this, there were two additional bits of information.
First was that he said he would «come as close as he could». This could be taken at least three ways. It could mean he would get the features as close as he could, that he would get the year as close as he could or that he would get the price as close as he could.
Second is that he said he would not waste our time.
On the second point, the manager went and did manager stuff, and left us with the salesperson. This isn’t a bad thing, exactly, but the salesperson really needed help, because about the only thing he knew how to do with any skill whatsoever was operate the radio, and even that was questionable. If we asked something about features (and newer cars do have a lot these days), he didn’t know. If we asked about financing, availability, or pricing, he didn’t know. In other words, time was a-​wasting, and we weren’t even to the details yet, but it seemed like weren’t doing very well.
We did drive a new vehicle, and liked it. Unfortunately, it didn’t have the features we wanted, so we browsed the lot, and there was no luck finding the match we wanted. We then waited some more while the salesperson (did something), and still no luck. Eventually the manager wandered back and seemed to move things along, at which point we found out that there was another vehicle on the way in (from somewhere, at some point), and we may be able to make something happen. The only problem is that the price is higher than we wanted to pay.
So, to point #1: The features now match the original car, and the year matches (being a new car, as promised), but the price doesn’t — it is a couple thousand more. I would give this to the manager as being «as close as possible», except it’s a colossal waste of time to get here, and we really didn’t want to spend more, and most notably, it was a huge amount of wasted time along the way.
Now to his credit, the manager did say that the offer would stand as long as we might want it, and it was a reasonable discount on a new car, but as mentioned, we weren’t interested in spending the money, so let him know that he can keep it, and that we wouldn’t be returning.

If there was an option for negative stars this business would receive 5 negative stars. Let me start by saying that our family has bought over 5 cars from this dealership and would think we would be treated with more respect. My mom went in for a check engine light on her rav 4 this week and received the worst customer service we have ever experienced. First of all, for asking a simple question she was talked down to and when she asked for the supervisor, she was lied to and said he wasn’t available. The assistant manager on staff (Rick Mckenzie) was then called. Not only did he not greet her but had a bad attitude as it was. She then explained the issue and because my mom wasn’t sure about the issue, she put my dad on the phone with the manager. The call dropped and the manager immediately showed anger and proceeded to toss the phone at my mom! He tossed the phone with such anger, that the phones case popped off. She asked him why he’d done so, and his reply was «your husband hung up on me». She told him that was no reason to toss her private property, and much less to a lady with a small child with her. He walked away. She spoke to someone else about the supervisor and was pointed in the right direction. The supervisor did nothing but proceed to say that the assistant Manager was «only human and was therefore acting out of frustration». When the assistant manager was called over once again, he denied everything. He eventually admitted to throwing the phone at my mom. He said he «apologized» and walked away.
This is no way to treat a loyal customer or a human for that matter. Do not ever use this dealership. They don’t care about the customer or retaining good relationships. Worst experience ever. They humiliated my mother because they said they couldn’t «understand her accent». This was very rude and demeaning. They offered no sincere apology and didn’t seem to care that their employees aren’t friendly to customers.

Service is great and dependable. Shuttle to Concord Mills. I have always enjoyed this location. I purchased a toyota years ago from a horrible dealership and vowed never to purchase a Toyota again. This dealership has made me a loyal Toyota customer.

Great customer service and selection. The sales person stayed well beyond the store hours just to explain all of the car features. The buying experience was very easy and not pushy. I would highly recommend Hendrick Toyota in Concord.

Thought I would write a review while I wait on my car getting inspected. This is my first time doing anything like this on my own (daddy’s little girl) but the staff was very friendly when I got here. The waiting room is very nice with a large TV, vending machines, coffee, and free wifi! Highly recommend… you should probably check if anything is going on at the speedway before you come, could cause some traffic

Got a personal call from the general manager apologizing for the previous encounter. This goes a long way in my book. Also got a personal invitation to take my new car (which I purchased elsewhere) to their service department.

Two years ago, my sister wrote a review about this location and emphasized how our entire family has bought cars from this dealership for decades. She was speaking the truth; we have been customers of this dealership since they were smaller and across the street from S&D Coffee. We have bought countless cars from them and have sent our entire extended family to them. She mentioned that we would not look for service elsewhere. While I wouldn’t have expected in a million years that she was wrong, she was. Over the past couple weeks we have seriously considered purchasing a new car from this location. The sales guy we dealt with was very nice, helpful and patient (hence the one star). We visited multiple times trying to narrow things down and talked a lot via telephone. Tonight we spent time trying to reach a deal and we were literally shown the door. We were interested in two different cars with slightly different prices. We took all the information offered by the dealership and made a counter on one of them (it wasn’t even a crazy request). The sales manager came out and while he thanked us for showing up, he literally cut us off at the knees and did not entertain any further deals OR revisit the other car we were looking at. We have NEVER been treated like this in all of our car buying experiences. Perhaps they were upset we had compared prices from another dealership? It’s not like we did it on purpose (it’s not our style but what smart purchaser wouldn’t anyway?), but we have looked at this particular car for a while and have visited various dealerships depending on where we were at the time; other numbers just came with the territory. We ultimately ended back up at this dealership because we are LOYAL customers even though their prices were slightly higher but that was the wrong decision. This sales manager was not interested in selling a car or even respectfully dealing with us. Simply saying thanks doesn’t do much when your undertones are rude. Even if the dealership was unable to meet what we wanted, they could have dealt in a MUCH better manner and not made us feel as if our business is worth nothing and we asked for the moon. Decades of loyalty thrown down the drain in an instant. Literally. An ENTIRE family of customers will never visit this place again. They must have sold way too many cars this year and got their noses on cloud 9. Good for them. As for me, all I can say is: thanks Mr. Sales Manager, thanks.

I recently visited Toyota Scion of Concord to test drive a new Corolla. I had test driven other vehicles, but was not comfortable with them due to the lack of brand reliability. I spoke with Frank, who was an excellent resource while gathering information about the vehicles that Toyota offers. I ended up purchasing my new car that night because of the excellent team and the great deal that I was offered. I will definitely be going back to Hendrick for my future transportation needs, I was very happy with the service and product.

I bought 2 new Toyotas from this dealership. The service center is the worst ever! They lie and try to sell you anything they can. Toyota Camrys have a BIG problem losing oil. They won’t admit it. The service people look at you like you are stupid and say that a oil test should be done when you bring it to their attention! They will not say a word about the oil problem when you are under warranty. Just check the internet for Toyota camry oil problems/​losing oil. Stay away from this dealership!!!

For me to say, «Yay! I’m a fan.» of a CAR DEALERSHIP is no small feat. I have been burned so very badly in the past by dealerships that I am extremely leery of them. I have had nothing but excellent customer service here, though. I always get an accurate estimate from them, and they ALWAYS call and receive my permission before beginning anything that wasn’t specifically directed at drop off. I even had them tell me I didn’t need something done that I thought I would need (and was prepared to pay for). A couple of times, it has been really busy when I brought my vehicle in. The last time, 8 cars showed up at the exact same time! I was thoroughly impressed at the manager who stood in the center and made SURE that each person was greeted, and that each was helped in a timely manner, in the exact order that they arrived. Super professional. I usually don’t wait, but when I have stayed to wait for work to be done, the waiting lounge is always very comfortable, with tons of seats, free wi-​fi, free coffee, and TV’s.

I’ve taken my car here to get factory service a couple times now and had good experiences both times. This location is convenient to my office so I can go during my lunch hour. Usually in and out pretty quickly and the people/​service managers are really nice. I usually get one of my co-​workers to follow me and then drop my car off. By the time we get done eating, my car has been ready to go and I get back to work as usual.
Last visit, I decided to wait on my car and had a tire rotation and alignment so it took a little longer than usual, but their waiting room is plenty big and the staff is good about keeping you updated about how your vehicle is progressing. It reminded me a lot like a hospital waiting room and people were getting updates on their loved ones.
Plenty of chairs to wait on, free wifi to do some work if needed, and I think complimentary Krispy Kreme (but I didn’t indulge).
I’m super happy with my car now — bought it brand new and it’s turning one. No problems (knock on wood) with it at all. I look forward to many more miles in my car and this is definitely the place I will take it to keep it going.

My family has been buying cars from these guys for years. We have purchased well over a dozen and have no plans to stop any time soon. We get 90% of our service done at this location on our cars.
We get great service every time. Once my dad had his car detailed and the tires were not up to his expectations so Toyota sent a Tech TO OUR HOUSE after hours to clean them himself in our driveway. Whhhhaaat? That is so unheard of anywhere else. I live in Chapel Hill now and had my car serviced ONCE up there and will never go back. This is my home service center and will remain so.
I’m sorry that the other Unilocaler had a bad experience and I hope that they reported it to the service manager.
Oh and ask for Mark, he’s a great sales guy! He has been taking care of us for at least a decade and a half? Maybe more?
