Greater Bay Area Termite

GBA has completed two inspections for me, and i will continue to use this company in the future. They were more than willing to work around my hectic schedule. Additionally, everyone I spoke with were very professional. Lastly, the company is honest, clean, and respectful. Keep it up guys!

I found termite damage when addressing a plumbing leak under the house. I had 2 estimates for the termite work and decided to go with Greater Bay Area. Patrick performed a very thorough inspection compared to the other larger company I had out. His price was competitive and he was very informative. Josiah came the next week to supervise the work and was very sensitive to our desire to minimize any esthetic compromises around the foundation of the house. He even brought three concrete samples to find the one that would match our existing concrete best. They did a great job and the plugs of the holes are barely noticeable. All the people at GBA were pleasant, friendly and professional. I am very glad I decided to go with them for the work.

Timely and thorough inspection — which turned up not only the subterranean termites that I’d called in but also a couple of fungus problems. The verbal quote was quickly followed up with an email quote that provided me three options: localized treatment of the two spots with active termites, perimeter treatment, and a $ 50 add-​on of the fungus near the fireplace. (The other fungus problem is on the exterior steps which need to be replaced; the inspector agreed that I’d be better off waiting to replace rather than trying to treat.) After about two weeks of ignoring the quote, GBA called me which was just the nudge that I needed to get the treatment scheduled. I went with the localized treatment ($ 700) and the fungus add-​on — which was in the crawl space under the front of the house and would have been a big pain for me to take care of myself. The two guys that did the treatment showed up within the contracted window, were very friendly and efficient, were careful about the landscaping, and did a great job of cleaning up. The whole process took less than three hours. If I ever have to have more pest control done (and I hope not!) then I’ll certainly contact GBA Termite.
Note that orange oil treatment is not an option for subterranean termites. However, the localized treatment for subterranean termites is sufficiently benign that my feline companions and I were stayed in the house during the treatment and were able to go into the yard immediately after the treatment.

Patrick from Greater Bay Area Termite came out to my house in Livermore to do a termite inspection on very short notice. He was able to fit it in his schedule to come out the very next morning. I showed him the areas where I had found evidence of termite infestation (including the crawlspace under the house). He gave me a very honest assessment of the infestation and determined that it was only a dry wood termite infestation.
I had a previous inspection done by another company and their guy claimed that I also had a dry wood beetle infestation which would have cost a lot more to fumigate for beetles. The other guy also claimed I had all sorts of damaged to some sub-​frame wood pieces and it needed replacement. Patrick was very honest about my situation and said it was only a termite infestation. He also inspected these sub-​frame wood pieces and said they are perfectly fine and do not need to be replaced. I decided to have the house tented and fumigated for termites (a 3-​day process). His honesty allowed me to save thousands of dollars in not having to fumigate for beetles (which is a 5-​day process) and replace sub-​frame wood pieces that were in good condition.
Patrick is very friendly and easy to work with. He gives you a very honest assessment of your situation and does not try to inflate the cost of repairs needed just to try to make more money from your situation unlike how some other termite companies might try to do.

Had a appointment today at 12 for my rental house set up with Patrick he calls at 10 in the morning leaving a message saying he’s there… We don’t live in town so we try and try to call him back with no answer… Decide to still go by 12… No body no call back. I call from a different number and he picks up… Then tells me the appointment was before 12… Even though he told us when first making a appointment that his morning was booked in Danville… Said he could come Monday. Ha Like I would trust him again!
