History
Established in 1956.
Opened in 1956 By Dr. Lawrence M. Procter D.V.M. 4 Corners Pet Hospital was designed to be a «Macro”-Hospital in a «Micro”-Space. The original hospital included a reception room, a private office, an examination room, a laboratory, a surgery, a kitchen, a bedroom, a bath and a darkroom. There were four wards and 22 cages. The hospital started with one doctor and one nurse, and was designed to be labor saving with maximum efficiency. A revolutionary hospital for its time, 4c’s was built with a mobile X-ray and a shower-lift. The design included a large front porch with a low ceiling to keep the afternoon sun at bay. The wards were designed to be small so they could be easily cleaned, especially when they were used to quarantine pets with contagious diseases. The hospital was described as having «ample parking» and included plans for expansion to accommodate an increased caseload in the future.
