Four Corners Veterinary Hospital

I came here with my Guinea pig for the first time last week. I’ve been really searching for a good vet for my exotics and even my dog and cat. I found this one online because my Guinea pig needed to be seen ASAP for a cough and sneeze. They got my appointment in the same day I called. Even though they were running behind When it was my turn Dr. Becker answered all my questions and my appointment was at least 20 minutes and she was really attentive and trying to rule out all possible illnesses with my Guinea pig. Most other vets I’ve seen don’t even talk to you for more than 10 minutes. We did x-​rays and she brought us in and explained everything on the x-​Ray. We got medicine and I’ve had something similar happen before with another Guinea pig was expecting to pay 700+ for xray, fluids, and meds but it was only 350 including the office visit! She even called me for a follow up and we talked for a good 15 – 20 minutes. Even though it’s over the bridge for me I will definitely be bringing my pets here from now on.

I just read the previous reviews on Four Corners Vet and am really quite surprised by all of the negative comments. I have been going to Four Corners for 8 years and have top of the line care for my two «babies» (dogs). My dogs are my children. I do agree that Four Corners is pricey but I have found that you have to pay for good care. I tried 3 other vets in the area as I was trying to save money but when it comes down to it, you get what you pay for and I will continue to pay at Four Corners for what I consider to be top of the line care for my dogs. If I don’t want a particular test, like the annual fecal, I just say no. There is no pressure. They do what they need to, they always call after an emergency to find out how my dog is doing and are just generally kind, thorough and caring. I would not take my babies anywhere else! Period!

We were first timers with our precious Frenchie puppy. Nurses and receptionist were very warm and professional. Our VMD took so much time with examining our puppy and answering all our gazillion of questions. We left with so much useful information and knowledge we didn’t have. Plus a little puppy starter type kit along with a leash. We will definitely be bringing our precious puppy back. Thank you Four Corners!

I can’t believe how nice and sincere and helpful these people are. Recently I lost two bunnies and I’m going through a hard time, but I still got a third bunny; I took him in to check. And doctor Becker was so nice and concerned, and she wanted to see my other rabbit’s body without me asking (so she’d know what cases the death). After that, they called to check on the bunny. Now I know every vet does that but other vets they only call like it’s an obligation, 4 corners called like they really are concerned and they really care. Today I went by and asked them how I felt like my bunny has been losing weight, the lady Kimberley said I should bring the bunny in and she’ll weigh him with no charge. And when I did bring him in, not only did she weigh him, she also taught me a bunch of stuff on how I can check on my baby regularly on my own at home.
I just wanna say these people really do care to the point that I’m really really moved. Thank you guys so much.

Four Corners veterinarian hospital is fantastic. I take my new puppy to them. I’ve had great experiences each time and mostly CoCo has too. She doesn’t like certain things done to her i.e. Temp and wt. but the staff is really good at helping her get thru it. Recently we got her spayed. Both front and back office staff was kind reassuring and educated me along the way. Both Dr. Scharg and her regular Dr. Kubicka are excellent.

Wonderful people! I’ve been coming here for 3 years and they are compassionate and caring. The facility is very clean and somewhat relaxing. I know that sounds strange but it is. They have music playing, a beautiful fish tank, videos and an overall calming atmosphere. They are reasonable and give you a low end and high end estimate which is very helpful and greatly appreciated.
All of the vets are extremely compassionate and I feel very comfortable with all of them. My girls (Shih Tzu and Lhasa) see Dr. Tim Walters. He’s fantastic! He has a calming demeanor, easy to talk to and generally cares for you and your fur baby’s welfare. I really feel cared for at Four Corners.

I have been dealing with Four Corners for several years. They took wonderful care of my JRT, Emily, during the past few years of her life. At 16 ½, when it was time for her to go, I took her to Four Corners for the last time. The compassion I was shown was amazing. I cannot imagine any better situation for Emily’s passing than that which took place at Four Corners! I received her ashes and a paw print back in a couple of weeks, as well as, a lovely card of condolence from the staff.
I just took my new chihuahua mix, Pinky, in for her first visit. Dr. Kubicka did a thorough exam and gave me some great tips regarding food, dental health, etc. so as to keep Pinky in good health. They did lab tests for heartworms and intestinal parasites.
I volunteered at ARF for more than 10 years and knew many fellow volunteers who also took their beloved pets to Four Corners. I am not aware of any who had less that an excellent experience. They are HIGHLY recommended!

i love taking my dog kodi there they treat him like they are his owners. The prices are fair and they don’t try to add extra charges like some vets do. I highly recommend to other people all the time to take there pets there. thank you. ken Kodi’s daddy.

My rabbits, cockatiels and I have been working with Four Corners for almost 15 years. We love them! Dr. Becker is a tried-​and-​true with rabbits. She has helped me with many an emergency off-​the-​street rescue, ailing, and/​or aged rabbit. Dr. Ivey is great with birds (avian certified) and has a very special touch when it comes time to help a rabbit «over the bridge.» The newest addition to the bunny vets, Dr. Tim Walters, is a real gem. He has an extraordinary rapport with my rabbits, and me. He’s a WONDERFUL addition to the local bunny-​vet community! And the techs and front desk folks are marvelous. When it was time to ease out my 12.5-year-old rabbit, Scooter, they all rallied around us with hugs. They feel like «family!»

We have been loyal patients here for 6 or 7 years and would never think of going anywhere else. I do not know if the rates are competitive or not — I trust them and to me that is priceless. I have seen all of the Drs on staff — this weekend we met Tim Walker who held my little Louie the entire time he talked to us about allergies. HELD him in his arms and petted his perfect little head. Again I say priceless. Health care is expensive and I have two «littles» who require extra care with their teeth but coming home to unconditional love everyday and knowing they are happy and healthy is worth the extra cost.
I was sad to hear Dr Ivey is not around as much but I trust the other doctors completely. The front office staff are delightful and patient. My dogs are STILL happy to come inside and I know its not just for the liver biscotti treats.

My family has used Four Corners Vet since moving to Concord in 1960! We have always had very good care for our dogs through them.
I agree the cost is on the high side, but I wouldn’t quibble over the cost if it were a human member of the family, and my dogs are just as important to me as any other family member!
A couple of the front desk staff can be off-​putting, but the technicians and most especially Dr. Becker and Dr. Kubicka are very caring and extremely competent. Sometimes the tests required need time be completed and analyzed, for instance urine cultures take longer than urine analysis.
I have found Dr. Becker in particular to be extremely patient, compassionate and thorough in her care of my mimi-​schnauzer Zoe. We have worked together to get Zoe well (pancreatitis and frequent UTA’s) and keep her well. Dr. Becker has stayed in the office LATE to notify me and other pet-​mommas about test results. I have had calls at 9:30 at night to inform me of Zoe’s prognosis & results and I know she has had a long day behind her… this doesn’t stop her from calling before she goes home to her family to eat or to sleep.
Once I took Zoe before the office opened (8
.) because Zoe was in such distress, and they took me in immediately through the staff entrance and before
the doctors were even available in order to help Zoe. I have also had experience with other pets being euthanized when necessary and they were exceptional.
I love their new facility and as long as I have my fur-​baby I will be thankful for being able to see the vets at Four Corners Veterinarian Hospital.

Four Corners has been our primary vet office for about three years. We have seen Dr. Ivey, Becker, and Kubicka. Dr. Ivey and Dr. Becker were our veterinarians for our two female rats, mostly for end of life care and euthanasia when the time came. One was also treated for a chronic respiratory issue. Dr. Kubicka helped us out when we added an Australian Shepherd puppy to our family and saw us through his neutering, microchipping, and vaccinations.
They were always very helpful, caring, and relatively punctual. Their office is very clean and comfortable and the staff has been consistently friendly. Had we not moved out of state, we would still be happily be seeing Dr. Kubicka for our dog. I only mark them at four stars because their costs are not very competitive and I was not fully satisfied with the euthanasia of our second rat who appeared to be in a good amount of pain during the process. I take partial blame for this, as I should have been more persistent about requesting gas. Nonetheless, the doctors and staff provide quality care and this office is well worth a visit from you and your pet.

My little bunny was experiencing bladder distress in 2011; I called Four Corners on referral from an emergency clinic and Dr. Ivey promptly accommodated me that morning. She identified the problem and performed emergency surgery the same day. As a result, my little girl has never been healthier (she’ll be 8 years in late summer). In addition, the charges levied were extremely reasonable and reflected understanding of a pet owner’s distress. Dr. Ivey’s talented assistance exceeded my expectations, and I highly recommend her for any sick rabbits.

Very rude staff, on the phone. The exam was very expensive. Nice place but unknowledgeable and mean staff.

Disappointing. I would not recommend them for pocket pet care. Brought guinea pig in with cysts. Veterinarian drew blood for lab work. Three year old guide pig was so traumatized and died 3 hours later. Veterinarian still wanted to charge me for lab work ($ 100). The blood sample was still at the clinic and not even sent out to be tested, as my pet died.

I adopted a 3 month old kitten from the Martinez Shelter last week and not even 2 days later, I had to take her to the ER at Encina in Walnut Creek. They treated the symptoms, but didn’t really do anything else. 2 days later I had to take her in again. No one seemed to really care about her and know what was really going on. So 2 days later (I’ve had the kitten for 6 days now) I had to bring her in again, but decided to go to Four Corners because Encina didn’t really seem to care.
I am SO HAPPY I took the little one to Four Corners! I saw Dr. Kubicka and can’t help but sing his praises. He really took the time to examine the kitty and do relative tests. He actually cared and gave me straight answers to my questions. He got down to the problem and I am so relieved because I know what is going on and have a game plan.
The staff is also very friendly and very knowledgeable. It was a very positive experience and I am happy that I have finally have a permanent vet that I can trust and feel comfortable that they have my pet’s and my best interest at heart.

I needed to find someone to treat my elderly canary who has never seen a vet, but now something was wrong with his foot. I called by dog’s vet who does not treat birds and Four Corners was their recommendation.
I saw Dr. Ivey who seemed to know what she was doing, and she found that his leg band had tightened and cut off circulation, swollen discolored and stuck to his chest feathers. she worked in short burst to minimize stressing the bird (canaries tend to have heart attacks under stress), she would come in work for a bit, then go see another patient while the bird calmed down.
I was in the office for about 2 ½ hours and was worried about the mounting cost since a simple visit is $ 60, and this was an old and frankly not very expensive or dear to my heart pet. The notion of spending thousands on a critter I bought for a few bucks did not fill my heart with joy.
By the time I left with salves and syringes and oral medication, having unstuck and trimmed his chest feathers, removed some dead tissue from his foot, cleaned and treated his wounds, the bill came in at a reasonable $ 160.
A week later he is much better, on the mend and eating well.
