I could not be happier with my 1k paint job. Brought in my 88 Mercedes for body work and full paint. Marco was great to deal with, friendly and helpful. I was hoping for a good job and what I got was a GREAT paint job. One friend said to me «That looks like more then a 1k paint job». I can’t understand why the other inexpensive car painters could not even show me a sample of what the finish would look like. That’s just stupid. Yeah for Earl Scheib, Marco and all the folks there that provide quality service for completely reasonable rates. I highly recommend them. Thanks!

I had my 1993 jeep painted by marco and his team of talented craftsmen and they did a fabulous job .
Now keep in mind this is not one of his inexpensive type paint packages I paid for the special touches but with that said he first painted my old Chevy with his standard style package and that is what convinced me to use him to paint my favorite toy!!!

I have had the pleasure of having two Toyota trucks painted over the last 12 years. The first one was performed to my specs. I was younger and wanted a special color. We performed the body work and prep. Removed everything and delivered the car. The paint was supplied by me at that time. I under stood that they could not warranty someone else’s parts. That was fine. The truck came out fantastic. In fact after a cut and buff the truck looked like it had a $ 4k paint job when in reality it only cost me $ 850. I sold the truck after 2.5 years and the paint looked the same as when I picked it up. I was very happy with the results.
Fast forward 10 years i picked up a 96 4runner. This poor thing had 3 different shades of white and the clear was peeling all over. I know the staff has changed and i thought what the hell lets try them again. This truck just needs a basic paint job. It will be used for off road and taking the dogs out. So scratches will happen over time. I did not feel like using the normal body shops I have become used to with $ 4k-​8k paint jobs. I did the same thing. Pulled the windows, handles, trim moldings, lights and delivered a canvas they could work with. The only difference this time was that I used their paint and prep services. The biggest thing in paint jobs is the prep. The more things that have to be tapped off the unhappier a customer will be in the long run. I delivered the car negotiated a fair price (sub 1k) and three days later I had the truck back!
The paint quality was actually better then I expected. My expectations were not high of such a bargain price. But there were no runs and minimal issues. Most in areas where I chose not to fix something. The paint how ever was not flawed. There is visible orange peel but that can be resolved with cutting and buffing the car. I re installed everything and most have a hard time believing that A. Earl Scheib painted it. B. That the price was not $ 3k-​4k So far its been about 6 months, and I’m happy to report that everything is looking the same way i picked it up.
For those looking for a paint job consider what you want and what you are paying for. If you want high quality you have to pay high quality prices. for higher end jobs the materials alone can cost $ 900-​$ 1200 for a full respray. Then you have to consider the labor to remove everything, re install it after the respray, and then the detail service. Its costly and time consuming. Most body shops are $ 65hr and a job like what I have should have been about 80 man hours. For my car I’m happy. If I have another project like this ill be sure to use them again.

You are talking around the complaint like a true crooked business man. The job we paid for was an upgraded job that you were to fully prep the car with removal of any rust or paint etc. Do not act like I am an ignorant female customer who is not aware of what was or was not needed to get a paint job outcome worthy of the vehicle and the cost.

I was recommended here by my friend because he found a great «deal» for a paint job that I desperately needed. I’m one of those guys who cares a lot about how his car looks so I’m always looking for immaculate service.
If you look at their website, they have specific coupons for «$ 299.99 for a Silver Level Paint Service» and «$ 150 off for a Platinum Level Pain Service.»
I warn you now, READ THE FINE PRINT. These coupons DO NOT include prep work and additional services such as:
1. $ 20 per DENT you want fixed
2. $ 99.99 per DOOR JAMB you want painted
3. Refer to my pictures to see the rest of the prices!
So let’s do the math, I chose the Platinum Level job that includes:
1. Three coats of «top quality acrylic polyurethane paint»
a. Sounds fancy right? I should’ve asked which brand paint they use
2. Integrated clear coat for additional shine and protection
3. Three year warranty
4. Any color
Cost for this service is normally $$ 599.99 but it was $ 450 with the coupon.
Now let’s add prep work:
1. Machine sanding
2. Hand sanding
3. Chemically cleaned
4. Air blown dust removal
5. Mask and tape
6. seal coat application
Cost: $ 199.99
There’s another «Preferred car preparation» that’s $ 299.99. You again, can see the picture I included to see what’s included. I highly recommending just sticking with the one for $ 199.99 because when you prep a car, you’re suppose to sand it down anyways which SHOULD remove all your nicks, chips, and scratch removal.
Luckily I know a thing or two about cars because Marco, the sales person, gave me an option to just paint over my existing coat. I was like OH HELL NO! That is the WRONG THING TO DO. This was before I started asking him about sanding, priming, painting, and he realized that I know about cars. That’s when he stopped trying to upsell me his other «products» that are normally included. It’s like going to a car dealership and they try to sell you the «side mirrors» that are suppose to come with the car anyways!
Anyways, the total costs come up to around $ 690 because I had 2 dents that needed to be fixed. Include labor that was around $ 60 an hour, taxes, and material disposal fees, it all came out to be around $ 800+ and change! Wow, that’s a long ways from that original $ 299.99 isn’t it?!? Also, Marco was very insistent on trying to sell me the U/​V sunscreen package for $ 49.99. He wanted to give us 50% off for a deal going on but I had to decline as I live in Daly City and it’s mostly foggy here. So that was a non-​needed service for me. I recommend it if you leave your car out of the garage or street park it and there’s sun.
Overall, if you think about it, it’s still cheaper than going to any normal shop. Most shops that I have been through quoted me $ 1k or more so I still got a good «deal.» Marco was great in explaining how everything worked even though it’s self explanatory after you read the price boards.
I dropped off the car with my friend that was also getting service on Monday. Marco quoted it would be done by Thursday and it was exactly as he had told me. He called on Thursday morning, said the car was ready for pick-​up and away I go in the afternoon.
Upon arriving home, I noticed that there was a dried paint drop near the upper rubber of my windshield. This meant that they didn’t bake my car long enough to dry the paint. Also upon further inspection, they sort of painted over some of the rubber grommet on the lower side of my driver side windshield. This kind of concern me about the quality of skill and time the painter puts into prepping the vehicles. Hopefully this is covered under my «Warranty» and I have yet went back to visit this location.
On another note, if you want to change the color of your car, please beware. Remember how I said earlier that you have to pay to paint your door jambs? Well that’s another cost you have to factor in. My buddy wanted to change the color of his accord from gray to white, and it would’ve cost him an additional $ 400 just to paint the inside of the doors! WTH MAN! You would’ve thought that they would help you paint the «entire» car but nope! DO NOT GET STUCK WITH A 2-​TONE CAR!
Overall, I think the service here was good for the experience and the price. You might get some orange peel and I have yet to wash my car so I haven’t inspected closer yet. This place gets a 4 out of 5 for the reason of not being accurate about masking and baking the car correctly. There’s a reason why all the other shops around the area are full of customers and Earl Schieb wasn’t. The customers you get here are people who want «good deals» but don’t expect perfection.

I had my Acura Integra painted there and the work was flawless. Marco was really a friendly associate and was able to negotiate the price for the budget that you have. It only took 3 days for them to get my car painted and on the go. For the price I paid for, I am a satisfied customer. Plus, the paint service I paid for, it came with a 3 year warranty. He said I can bring it back anytime I want if there’s a scratch, chip, or oxidation on the paint starting to show. You can’t beat that!

I had my car painted at Earl Scheib in Concord a few years back. Overspray on almost everything, wheels, tires, windows it was ridiculously bad. Particles all over. I let it go because the Car was 8 years old and it was pretty cheap .I paid for the most expensive Paint Job. I followed all the waxing suggestions. The Paint faded after just 2 years and literrally began peeling off my bumper. When I took the Car in to discuss the warranty the Staff was rude and defensive basically telling me I was lying and could not have waxed the car and that nothing I mentioned would be covered. He thru some buffing compound on the Car and told me that the paint was coming back with the compound which was not true. I made it a little shiney in the small spot he added the compound but quickly faded the next day. I do not recommend this Company or the paint regardless of the low price. My Car looks much worse now than it did when I took it in for the work. They will fight you on any guarantee. This is the worst experience I have had with a autobody shop in my 30 years of owning vehicles. This was not the standard «you get what you pay for» job. It was much worse.

So I went to Earl Scheib to get some paint work done on my Audi. And I unfortunate, I have to say my experience there was horrible. I had a couple scratches on my fender that I wanted to get fixed so I talked to the manager Craig who gave me an estimate of $ 400. Which was really cheap… At first I had my doubts, as their shop was very disorganized and dirty. but hey it was $ 400 and I was cheap so I decided to go for it…
When I came by to pick up the car… the first thing I noticed was that the guys removed my V8 emblem as well as my inlets and didn’t even put them on! Car was returned in a very dusty condition. My black leather seats were all white, the area where the scratches were, were white as well.
And then when i wiped it out… I noticed that there was orange peel and the car wasn’t even sanded! I could feel dust particles under the paint!
However I have to give Craig props for being nice enough to do the polishing for free even though he «assumed» that I knew the $ 400 didn’t cover polish and such…
Even after the polish, I still noticed dust particles on my fender so in the end I went to Mike’s Auto Body on N. Main St in Walnut Creek, who charged me $ 900 for a good quality paint job.
In short, if you guys have a nice European car I highly recommend you do NOT go here!

BEYOND AWESOME!!! I had my Audi painted here and the price was near unbelievable. The car looked great but had 2 minor flaws and for the price I paid I half expected them to say «oh well» but they totally repainted the whole thing free! I can not speak any higher of them! TOTALLY AWESOME! For the price its 1000X’s more then you could ask! Just a free word of advice tho, if you want a really clean pain job remove all your molding and lights etc. before its painted so its not just taped off… makes it look even nicer.

Okay, so the big move from the midwest, I finally escaped the ice and salt that destroys your car. I had a small, but ugly scrape on my driver side door, that on a black car, stood out like a sore thumb. I also noticed around my wheel wells I had some paint starting to flake off. Since my 98 Lincoln Mark VIII was still a beautiful car, that has given me almost no problems, I thought it time to give it the body work it deserved. Besides, its my favorite kind of car, completely paid for. I first wandered to a large body shop in Walnut Creek, which emphasized they were more of a collision shop than a body shop, they directed me to a place called Magic in Walnut Creek. I went out there and was bid over 4,000.00 to fix and repaint the car. I was pretty shocked at that, and wondering whether it was worth it. I later recounted the story to a colleague and he sent me over to Earl Scheib in Concord. I figured I was going to need to put on that hard negotiator face, and headed over there. The owner came out, looked it over, walked around it twice… I got ready to play hard ball… 500.00, me with the quick and smooth one, blurted out «THAT’S IT, OKAY, when do I bring it in?», yeah, I’m totally smooth. He said it wouldn’t be factory perfect, but that I would be happy. I paused, but for 500.00 I couldn’t go wrong. I brought it in on Monday, he said probably done Thursday. I stopped by on Thursday and he said they needed it a little longer, but no problem giving it back to me the next day, no worries. I returned on Friday, it looked great, I couldn’t have been happier. So worth the money!!! With the paint warranty of, I believe was 6 years, should outlast my time with the car.
Don’t overpay, this place is great.
