We can also serve you with custom lamp shade design, made from your fabric, or ours. Our service department has earned a well deserved reputation for quality lamp repair and restoration. Using only UL certified parts, we repair most styles of table and floor lamps as well as sconces and chandeliers, and are qualified to do European conversions. Established in 1976.

Established in1978, Concord Lamp & Shade has been the premier destination for lamps and lampshades in New England for nearly 40 years. With an inventory of over 2,000 lampshades in our store and access to hundreds of styles, fabrics and trims through our vendors catalogs, our trained lamp shade professionals can help you find, or custom design, the lampshade of your choice. Matched with our custom designed lamps, or as a replacement for an existing lamp, we will help you select the perfect lamp and shade combination. Additional services include handcrafted lampshades from the customers own material, and shade relining.

Drawing from resources around the world, we offer a wide selection of custom designed table lamps made in our workshop. In addition, we represent the leading lamp manufacturers in the U.S., including Chapman Lighting, Visual Comfort, Wildwood, Hubbardton Forge, House of Troy, Currey and Company, Murray Feiss, Justice Design, Simon Pearce and others.

I recently bought a house in the area and was so happy to find this place. I brought one of a pair of lamps in for shade fitting. The woman I worked with had a great deal of expertise and was extremely helpful. She was patient and made excellent (and knowledgeable) suggestions. She allowed me to put my lamp on the counter and try on multiple shades. Once we found the perfect fit, she matched it with the correct harp. She really has a great eye and I can’t recommend this shop enough if you care about your lighting fixtures.
I can understand other customers’ frustration at having to wait, but I think one must adjust their expectations when entering a shop with no more than two employees staffed at a time, and more importantly, a shop that is in the business of something as hands-​on, involved, and subjective as lamps and lampshades. If the customer ahead of you is taking a bit longer, just be patient. People go here for a personalized experience where input is valued. If you’re not looking for that, shop online.

I love the selection of Currey & Company lamps at Concord Lamp & Shade. This is by far my favorite lighting manufacturer, and they always seem to stock so many options. They also carry so many other brands, offer a variety of lamp types, and have every type and size of lampshade you could possibly need. They also custom make lamps — I had a wine bottle from Italy turned into a lamp! It’s now sitting in my home, and has a great backstory that I share with friends and family. I absolutely love it. One service that I haven’t taken advantage of is the lamp repair. I see folks coming in with all sorts of antique or specialty lamps that need repair. It’s nice to know this type of service exists if I ever do need it.

I recently purchased a large pottery lamp without a shade and thought to go to Concord Lamp and Shade because I heard the store advertised on NPR. My experience could not have been better. Denise was extremely helpful, showing me various style, color and size options until I found just the right one. She also helped me to select a new harp and bulb which suited the lamp perfectly. After getting a bit of an education on harps, bulbs and shades (who knew?), I looked around at home and realized I should change a few shades on other lamps as well. I went back to the store and worked with Ann to select those. When I wished one style came in a different color, she offered to special order it for me. The prices are not cheap but I found them reasonable given the quality, selection and service. Honestly, I can’t believe how much better (and brighter) everything looks with the right shades and harps! They also gave me a nifty info card on figuring out maximum bulb wattage.
I am puzzled to see some negative reviews on this shop because I spent quite a bit of time here making selections and saw several customers purchasing lovely pieces and receiving first rate service. Many of the lamps are made in-​house, for example from stunning Nicaraguan pottery, and shades bearing regional nautical maps are a unique specialty. I won’t hesitate to recommend this store to others.

I am very sorry to write this review because between 1990 and 2000 I had many vintage lamps repaired by Concord Lamp and Shade and bought shades there as well. Their work was well done and I was willing to pay their prices for good service.
I recently called ahead to ask if they had shades in the size I need to replace and they suggested I bring the lamp. I did bring the lamp, which is quite large. But the saleswoman on duty that day almost completely ignored me and proceeded to help the customers who were already in the store and the customer who came in after me, despite being told that by that customer that I was next, giving me the same feeling as the posters below — that the importance of doing business with me had been dismissed at a glance, with no eye contact at all. I did wait patiently for between 10 and 15 minutes. I’m a very loyal customer of small businesses that do well by me but I’m not going to put up with that type of treatment.
If you live locally and have plenty of time to cool your heels in the shop, go. If this store is out of your way, or you value your time, there are other places to shop.

I’ve had many lamps repaired and rewired at this shop. The service is very friendly, the repairs take about a week and the prices are very fair. Several of my lamps were quite old and were in terrible shape. They did an excellent job repairing the wiring and fixing other issues that were found. The shop also has a nice selection of shades, finials and new lamps and lighting fixtures. I highly recommend this shop!

If you ever need and lamp repaired, this is the place to go. I had two old floor lamps that had been sitting in the basement forever with worn cords and damaged shades. When I got them back, they looked as good as new… no … better than new The personal service of this small shop is a treat. I ended up buying one of their custom Boston Red Sox lamps for a friend who is a baseball addict.
