History

Established in 2001.

Seeking something to do after an attempt to retire, teacher Bill McDonough did what he loves best. he took tourists out on a tour of Boston to see sites which the majority of tourists never get to see on the many canned tours of old Boston.

This evolved as his fame grew, and soon there were 11 guides, including published historians, other retired teachers, a genuine stand-up comedian, an engineer (architecture tours) and guides with certain other specialities, such as Maine coastal tours and Autumn Foliage tours, guides who know their way in and around Newport, Rhode Island, and Cape Cod etc.

Mr. McDonough, saw that most tourists take trolleys and buses, without understanding that these vehicles are prohibited from entering most of the areas where the historical sites are located, and he was determined to show to visitors, the real flavor and history, neighborhoods etc. of his old city. So, this company uses sedans, vans or limos so that they can gain access to otherwise Hidden Boston

Meet the Business Owner

Michelle H.

Business Owner

Michelle is the daughter, and successor of Bill McDonough. She grew up with a father who jammed on the brakes every time that he came to an historic marker or a scenic site, or of a vista filled with colorful trees in the magnificent New England Countryside.

Michelle learned at an early age, where to find the most picturesque little ocean harbors and other photogenic spots throughout the 6 New England States, and today she operates the business along with her brother David.

Bill McDonough, has been attempting to retire yet again, is available for advice and for occasional tours. We have no plans to get too big, knowing that to do so, often waters down the quality of a business.
