Today we called them out to get a quote on our heater/​air conditioner. Byron was very knowledgeable and was able to repair it immediately with a very decent charge. It’s unfortunate that the other reviews had a negative experience. I definitely will keep their business card handy for any other issues we may have on other appliances.

Our heater was making a warbling sound, like something was off balance. It wasn’t terribly loud, but didn’t sound right. Airtech was the only place that would send someone out that day. They were friendly enough… but the positive stops there. He listened to our heater and told me that we would need a new motor for our blower. Gave me some BS about how the heat caused the bearings to melt and that that was what was causing the noise… um, yeah… sure. So he said he would go into our attic and take a look. He comes down and confirms that we need a new motor. He writes out an estimate for $ 485. I tell him we need a second opinion before spending that kind of money. He tells me that our motor is very expensive, that other companies will charge closer to $ 700. I’m guessing he thought I would just call another company and try and ask what they charge.
Anyhow, another company (kel-​aire) sent a tech out today. He came down after 5 minutes and hands me a carbon oxide warning label and tells me he found that in our blower fan, it was causing it to be off balance.
I know that people can be shady, and the HVAC industry is known for it, but I can’t believe he went up and checked it, and still said we needed a new motor. Shockingly dishonest!

Never use this company. A bunch of crooks. When we told the tech we were not having the repair done, as it seemed extremely high for what may have needed to be done, he got extremely agitated and told us the service call would be an extra $ 10 from what he said when he walked in. When he came I specifically asked him how much the service call would be if we do not do the repair and he said $ 65. After we said no to the repair, he said $ 75. When I confronted him about this he accused me of trying to trick him. When I mentioned this to him he started getting very loud and angry. He couldd have just said he made a mistake, but no, he started yelling at me. Bad company, extremely poor customer service. When I asked about the Unilocal deal, they said that was only on repairs, not the service call.

DO NOT USE these folks. Claimed what I was calling about was working — but left my dishwasher on —with the button pushed in so it is unusable~
Called 8 times and got a nothing we can do. Since when does a tech saying it is working not mean that is in working condition?

Had a tech from Air Tech come out on January 21^st. We stated that the heater fan was not coming on but everything else was working (i.e.: gas on and off). He diagnosed it as a limit switch needing replacement. He gave us a price of almost $ 400 for the repair but said he would knock it down to $ 320 if we pay in cash which we paid. Heater worked until next morning and the fan quit again. He came out the next day and took a look and got it working again. When asked what he did he said he moved some wires around. The heater worked for the rest of the week but on the next Saturday it quit again.
He said it looks to be the fan motor and gave an estimate of $ 250-​$ 395 for the part and $ 135 for labor. Another tech came out and took a look and decided it was the mother board and they could not do anything until Monday because the wearhouse was closed. They shut off the system and left. I contacted another company and when they came out and and checked they quickly found it was the mother board and that the limit switch did not need to be replaced as the limit switch only shuts off the gas if the system gets too hot not the fan. Air tech gave us another quote of $ 420 for the mother board and $ 135 for the install and again cash or check. At this point we already paid for a repair that was not needed as the original problem still exists. Contacted their office on February 1^st and said they are coming out tomorrow with the same tech (BUMMER). Not much faith in them and will see what happens next. I asked the tech for a refund on the part changed as it was not the problem and he said he would talk to his manager and call right back but never called and did not pick up when we called back. We are going on our 5^th straight day without heat (in January/​February) and this is unacceptable service as we have 2 kids and one parent works from home. The problem should have been found originally but it appears the tech was guessing at what the problem was. I found out the cost prices on the parts and am really not happy about the amount of mark up there is. I will update after the next attempt to fix the problem. So far not so good but always willing to give a second chance.
Update 02÷03÷12. The tech was to come out and the supervisor was to call on 2÷2÷12 but another tech came out from another company to fix the problem (don’t know who sent him). We asked about a refund on the part that had been changed but was not the problem but the tech said he was with a different company and was just there to fix it. I had already purchased the parts and he was done in 10 minutes. Heater is working as it should although we are expecting it to go out again after what the work these guys did previously but so far a tech from another company fixed it. We have called them but now they hang up on us. Be very wary of doing business with these guys. The original tech (not a good one more of a parts changer) was to return the original part and said he would drop it off but as of today still hasn’t. We have repeatedly asked for the original part back but we are now getting no response. All they have to do is make this right by refunding the charge of the part they originally changed as it was not the problem and bring the old one back. They marked the part up an astounding over 20 times the parts actual cost. They could make this right but just don’t seem concerned with good customer service. I went by the address on the invoice they gave us and it is a mail box place. Heads up on this one guys, from our experience stay away and call Four Seasons Heating and Cooling (the guys I called to check on Airtech’s work) and Jeff or Joe will take care of you. I would like to have posted a positive review but the company won’t even respond now. very expensive lesson learned. Will file a complaint with the BBB and see what else I can do to make sure this does not happen to someone else.
