La County Compton Sheriff Station

No one likes to be at the police station.
If your car gets broken into at night, just know that you should file the report sooner rather than later.
The officers you see behind the windows are actually on desk duty and won’t be the ones assisting you whilst filing a report. The ones that will assist you are in the field and have to be called to come to the station. That may take up to an hour after you arrive.
So, with that, keep your valuables with you. Even if they are out of sight, thrives will look in every nook and cranny to find them.
Good group of officers, hopefully I won’t be back unless my stolen goods pop up somewhere.

These are a group of people who truly care for their community. It’s not easy to put the lives of others before your own, but these individuals put on their armor daily for their community. I’ll forever be thankful for their selflessness and their sense of duty. It’s a darn shame many had negative experiences with various members at this station. Perhaps it’s possible they caught them at their worst. We’re all susceptible to sin. It would be good to show grace, understanding, and to give someone a benefit of a doubt.
Anyways, I came in the other day to report an event. In all honesty, I came waaaaay too late. Regardless of how late the event was reported, the officers showed genuine concern and put in the time to really advise me as to what I should do and what should be done the next time it’s to happen again. They truly have a heart of gold.
Let’s all give them a break all!

These people suck… u called them to report something and all they do is put u on hold. Like Robin did last night. I bet they are busy shooting someone else somewhere else

So far LOTS of crime on my folks’ street. I have called to request extra patrolling in the neighborhood. I don’t think it’s happened cause another near car battery robbery has occurred. A guy was in another neighbor’s yard scoping things out. The woman was surprised to find a strange guy on her property. The elderly residents are freaked out and still not much help from the Sheriff. Is everything in Compton just a joke to people? Why is that? I try to see the positive to this city, but after many years it is still the same. Let’s hope things improve someday soon.

The Compton sheriff department is a joke.
What a bunch of G.E.D only officers. I’ve seen JROTC kids with more of a clue than these idiots.
I was involved in a car accident and so I called the police because the driver that hit me was drunk and I needed a police report.
The dispatcher told me she would send someone my way, 15 minutes go by and no one shows up. I called again only to be asked «do you know who you spoke with»
Apparently the 1^st dispatcher I talked with never put it out that I need help. The 2^nd dispatcher told me there’s no record of me calling the police and that I have to give her all my information again.
So I tried telling her what happened and where the accident is, but she could not be any more slower.
It took almost 5 minutes just before she can fully understand where my location was.
Talking to her was like talking to mentally handicapped person.
Lots of «uhhs» and «ohs».
No sense of urgency.
I actually felt like I was bothering them by calling them.
Is it that hard to recruit some decent officers?
Granted, the officer that arrived at the scene was helpful, but really?

It’s ridiculous, they couldn’t do their jobs if someone’s life depended on it, literally.
I hope their captain reads this review and talks it over very slowly with them so they can understand just how stupid they are.
Go back and play foot security for some gated community.

The worst service ever !!! Someone broke into my house 2 days in a roll, when the two cops were taking the report very rude, trying to be a smart ass. Omg I have been living in compton since April of this year and I’m sure moving out this month.
I asked the cop so all you are going to do Is the report? He says in a very rude way yea what else is there to do. I said well its ur job what else do u suppose to do. He answers there is nothing else to do just do a report. Shit I could of made a fukken report and kept it in my house just sitting on the desk if that was the case. Unprofessional peopl don’t even knoe how to talk to someone. Rude and not in shape at all. If ur a cop at least keep ur shape dont get all FAT !!!

Police stations make the list of places I don’t necessarily want to spend my afternoon visiting. But there have been moments in my life where the trip to the local PD becomes inevitable. Such was the case when my rear license plate was STOLEN!
I mean who steals license plates anymore?! Well, I’ll tell you who, anyone who is hard-​up for a quick 20 bucks because apparently that’s the street value of DMV tags nowadays.
This incident motivated my visit to the local Compton Sheriff Station. The lobby was empty and the service was quick. The watch commander kiiiiind of didn’t want to write an incident report because I live in limbo and he couldn’t figure out the jurisdiction, but I sort of played the «ugh, please don’t make me drive alllll the way to Watts card just because I live a foot away from the county line». He was nice enough to oblige.
The service was quick, easy, and painless. However, now I know that an incident report doesn’t free me of having to pay 20 bucks for a new set of license plates. I mean if I would of known that I would’ve told the thief that stole my license plate to stop what he/​she was doing and I would’ve pulled 20 bucks from my pocket so that he/​she would save me the trouble of running around like a chicken with my head cutoff trying to sort the mess out.

I was born and raised in Compton, and very proud of it. I try and try to give this place a chance every time I need to go to the sheriff station I usually go somewhere else where the staff are so douchie. Once again they have failed me as the community station. This is the worst station with the most rude people. I went in today because I got a fix it ticket for having my license plate on my windshield instead of the front bumper and needed a signature to mail in my $ 10 dollar fee. I went in and told myself to have patience as always. There is only two people, me and another older gentleman trying to get there attention on the front window. This one girl cop turns around and doesn’t even acknowledge that we’ve been standing there for the past 15 min. The gentleman was before me so he goes up to the window and is to ask a question and she immediately shuts him off and tells him it’s gonna be another 15 min he’s gonna have to wait. She goes to the back and she’s laughing and giggling with the other two woman behind the desk and a man cop who’s dancing flirting with them. All I want was to ask if they can sign it, if not so I won’t waist there time nor mine… but I had to wait an hour in order for the girl cop (Hispanic) to tell me with an attitude that this is not taken care of there and that they do not deal with this… horrible service. This time I will never go there again…

Great service. Friendly and attentive deputies. Minus one star because there is usually only one front desk deputy. For yout convenience, there is a safe-​drug-​free drop box in the front entrance. Just in case you want to get rid of your stash.
