This place isn’t as bad as everyone is saying it is. It’s fast food but it isn’t horrible. The spam was hot and salty and tasty which is what spam musubi should be. The spicy tuna salad was enormous and they were super super generous with the spicy tuna. I couldn’t even finish it and I didn’t get sick afterwards which means it was fresh. Good amount of spice! The service could have been a bit friendlier. They don’t look as if they really want to be here and just took our order and rang us up without a smile. Otherwise solid food.

I work close to the citadel so a few minutes before my lunch break I called to give my order and the worker told me it would be ready in about 5 minutes so I can go pick it up. Once I clocked out for my lunch(maybe 8 min after I had called) I get to the place, I was the only customer there and one of the workers was on her phone but when she saw me she comes to the register and I let her know that I came to pick up an order I had ordered like 10 min ago. I knew she was the one who I had talked to on the phone with considering since is was only her at the front and 1 other cook in the back. I looked around for my order THAT I ORDERED10MINAGOONTHEPHONE and saw nothing. Right there in front of my face she lets the cook know my order so he can basically start it. When I saw that, I still asked the girl if he was barely going to start doing it and she replied with a «ha yea». I was so mad considering that I was on my lunch break so my time was limited. What’s the point in trying to make an order for pick up then? So stupid. I had no other choice so I waited until my food was done. Luckily it wasn’t busy that day but I still waited for about 10 min(which I could have avoided if the food would have been ready) The Maui burger and fries were okay but never wasting my time there ever again.

READONLYIFYOUHAVETHETIME… ITSTHATBAD!!! I’ll start off by saying i had no choice but to give this HORRID place a star… in order to write a review! Because it doesn’t deserve to be in business, let alone have ANY stars. Judging off these other reviews you can hear why that is. Food is mediocre, maybe tolerable with awesome customer service… but you WILLNOT find that here. My husband & i made the mistake of dining here after some shopping. I attempted 3 different times to order a meal they were OUT of. So my husband got something else, from a different vendor… but i choose a small side of potatoe salad. It set me bk all of 3 dollars, i took one bite and it was immediately off putting. It tasted like a spoon of pure sugar. I definately wasnt going to eat it, so i stood in line and waited to exchange the side dish, for another item of equal/lesser value… expecting to willingly pay any difference. Behind the counter was a rude young girl with NOCUSTOMERSERVICESKILLS! EQUIPPED with an attitude that stood 3 times her size. I told her the problem she said they wouldnt trade nor honor any compensation for their bad food… we went rounds(verbally, without aggressiveness) but she remained Rude & UNaccommodating to my request refused to compromise or give me a refund. In fact(get ready) she suggested as a RESOLUTION that she would be willing to quietly toss my food out & not tell anyone that i didnt like it! I was very confused by her propsal, and concerned at that point… convinced that i certainly must be dealing with a menatlly ill person! Lol. I mean, what other explaination could there be for such a suggestion??? Anyhow, lines backed up. im getting nowhere but FRUSTRATED… So i ask for her manager, of COURSE hes not present & wont be for a few days. Shes not in charge & doesnt know who is. Now im mad… shes lying & making a fool out of me, having me to beleive such rediculousness. So i ask once more for this managers name and contact information. Miraculously the poor young girl develops AMNESIA… wouldnt u believe. Couldnt tell me that either, forgot her own name aswell… and their #…heres the BEST part. TELLSMETOGOOGLEIT!!! I was enraged, unhappy, hungry, and disgusted for the rest of the day! The WORSTEXPERIENCE with bad customer service ive EVER encountered. This place should not be open. It looks like all the staff is horrible, based off these other reviews. If any management personnel or corporate members CARE… YOULLLOOKINTOTHIS&DOSOMETHINGABOUTIT. Ive been so busy, but was so APPALLED by the situation, that here i am, writing this review… months LATER… and its sooo important/BOTHERSOME to me STILL… that I made notes that day & i must share them! **********DONOTCOMEHERE!********** Maui style hawaiian bbq, citadel. Jan 17th1:00pm(only 1 girl working) Didnt remember her own name, manager, or store # Bad attitude, rude, smug Told me she couldnt help me with any information, i could google it!

I had their Hawaiian burger combo on Saturday. It was pretty good! The burger was tasty and the pineapple slice made it even better. The large fries usually don’t appeal to me, but the seasoning made me eat it… there wee too many fries for just one person ! Yes, the inside looks like a hole in the wall greasy spoon place, but the burger as good!!! I saw the poor reviews on some of their menu items, but I can’t complain. Yes, I would go back again!

Worst Hawaiian BBQ food I’ve EVER had! The Katsu chicken plate was a sad site for $ 7.99!!! I basically got one strip of chicken and it was paper thin! The potato salad was gross and flavorless. The rice was bad. The salad had some kind of purée sauce. I was too scared to try. Waste of money. My husband had to buy us some sbarros pizza and lasagna next door. Go there instead!

Yuck! The potato salad was terrible, kind of like wet mashed potatoes. I’m from Hawaii but I’m not hard to please. I’ll eat L&L mac salad and Ono Hawaiian BBQ salad, but I could not eat this salad! The teriyaki chicken sauce was not much better! Someone else wrote that even the fountain drink was bad and I have to agree, flat! My bad for not checking Unilocal before I picked a place to eat.

My girlfriend and I stopped here to eat. The food was extremely salty. She got the chicken and beef half and half plate and couldn’t stomach the beef due to the amount of salt. I got the grilled white fish plate which the fish wasn’t fresh and a little slimy to the texture. They have a grade A from the Los Angeles County Health Department. However, they get a grade D from me as far as food quality. Oh. And don’t bother getting a fountain drink. Yuck!

The establishment could look better, but it is what it is. I order lunch from here every now and again; however, I only get their chicken bowl, Maui Burger Combo or Spam Musubi. I haven’t had an issue with any of the orders except for the fries. Sometimes I get a lot of fries and other times I get gipped. Other than that… the staff is friendly and recognizes me each time I enter the establishment.

The most terribly cut salad I have seen in my life. Cucumbers cut like 4 inch thick. No dressing with salad. No sauce with chicken. At least the unagi roll tasted good hence the 2nd star

Everything tastes bland and frozen. Save your money. Wish I could uneat the food. Got the spam musubi and the shrimp katsu dish The rice was way over cooked. The breading on the chicken katsu was flavorless and falling off the meat(signs that the batter was pre-battered and then frozen. Mashed potato wasn’t good. Not even sure if it was mashed potatoes. Salad on the dish was mixed greens with a mystery orange colored dressing.

God knows how this place stays in business. I went for spam musubi and potato salad for lunch, thinking there’s no way they could mess that up. I was wrong. It was a disgusting mess. They should rename the potato salad sugar salad, it’s so sweet, containing chunks of half-cooked, unpeeled, unevenly-cut carrots. I think a five year old could’ve made better potato salad. Maybe it’s time to change business or at least taste what you are selling to people in exchange for money because the food shows absolutely no pride. Is this even food? I wouldn’t feed it to a homeless dog.

I love Hawaiian food but this place is disgusting. I had the chicken and short rib plate. And wow! Not sure how they are advertising that they have the best teriyaki in town. But it was pretty much it was all burnt. I would not recommend this place nor would I come here again. I’m not looking forward to my cancer happening in a few years due to this place.

Maui Style is hit or miss. I really only visit this place because it’s convenient. Sometimes I think the food tastes really delicious, and other times it’s not good at all. My go-to order is spam musubi and a side of potato salad. If I’m more hungry than usual, I order the chicken bowl or chicken plate. When you place your order over the telephone for pickup(which I always do), there’s no way of telling if your food is going to be enjoyable or not. I’ve had one bad experience here. I placed an order for the chicken plate. When I went to pick up my order, I was told, «By the way, we’re out of the potato salad.» Rats! I specifically ordered the plate because I was craving the potato salad that comes on the side. It would’ve been nice if I were told that before I confirmed my order. I just paid and took my order anyway because I didn’t have the guts to cancel. The employees here are generally nice, except for one, who I won’t put on the spot. Every time I see her, she just looks at me, expecting me to tell her what I want. Never a «hello» or «how are you» or even a «thank you.» Oh well. You can’t win them all.

Skip it. This place would be so much better if they serve their food fresh. You know, like cook to order how food should be. I got my beef teriyaki way too quick. You can tell they just reheated the meat and doused it with teriyaki sauce. It’s too thick and a bit sweet. Also, the potato salad that came with my meal was mashed potato with specs of carrots. I didn’t care for it. I wished they had macaroni salad instead. They also have other Hawaian bowls, plates, musubi and even sushi rolls. But I don’t know if they are any good. The service was okay. The lady who took my order was nice. Next time, I’ll stick to subway or panda express lol.

Have you ever seen a living statue in the center of a food court? A poor soul overwhelmed with options as he tries to think on an empty stomach. Well if you were at the citadel the other night you could have observed one in action because I was stuck for what seemed to be hours. I first took my family to Panda Express because they all knew what they wanted. As for me I walked around and saw Mexican, Pizza, Vietnamese, Hot dog on a stick, and Subway(no way). But look there it was Hawaiian food which should always look appetizing to any man. I love a restaurant who’s idea of a salad is pasta covered in mayo. So I am not going to act like this is my first time here I have enjoyed a meal here before and I know it was not anything memorable because I still starred at their menu like a first timer. Once I starred at the menu for much longer than I would have liked I realized that damn it is pricey her and I must be starving because I can’t make a decision. Finally an image caught my attention; it was a big juice Hawaiian burger with grilled pineapple and cheese. So I placed my order with this cool dude behind the register who even warned me that the soda dispenser was out of Pepsi just in case I wanted to change my order. But after it took me so long to choose I stuck to my guns and decided to just drink something else. So I sat there and waited for my food to be prepared and I noticed the location seemed kind of dirty. But I am sticking to my choice and I kept observing the preparation of my meal. I noticed that the patty was frozen and that they lather teriyaki sauce on the patty once it is almost done. The sesame buns are just store bought like they can from smart and final. The fries were seasoned fries which are okay but nothing special. As for my burger it was not filled with lettuce and veggies to make it look good it was actually flat and one noted. As I bit into my burger I realized that the bun was covered in soot most likely from a dirt grill and texture was very soft and saturated in teriyaki sauce which made it a bad burger. So why did I give this location 2 stars instead of 1 and that is simply because of my past experiences. I ordered something that they are not known for which is the teriyaki plates I messed up but they shouldn’t have there if it sucks. I have this same burger at other fast food spots and they have been bomb so it wasn’t my first rodeo. But with slow cook times, decent service, and mediocre food they only get a 2.

Food is average. Portions are decent, but the flavor is nothing special. The potatoes salad tastes like nothing. Maybe like cardboard. I wish I would have Unilocaled first to see that suck. Not happy but not gonna complain. Just won’t be back. Go to Panda instead. At least you know what to expect.

Run away. While shopping, I decided to take a meal break and thought, «yum, gonna get me some katsu.» When I walked into the store, it was completely empty. After waiting 5 mins, a cashier came and told me, to my surprise, that all the cooks were on break. He allowed me to order pre-made sushi rolls only. Not being picky, I said ok, but also asked the guy working if they happened to have any spam misubi. This is where it got bad. The moment I asked for spam misubi, a girl working there pops out from the kitchen, yells at the male cashier for his ‘incompetence’, snarls heavily while looking at me, and says, «you can’t order any spam misubi.» I would have been okay with just the sushi, but, her attitude left me feeling full… Of anger that is. I told her I didn’t want to order anything anymore after that, and she sarcastically said, «thanks.» Angry, I decided to do the only righteous thing I could think of. I took a picture of her being rude for her boss to see. ALSOPOSTINGONPHOTOSPAGESOYOUCANALLBEWAREOFWHOSHEIS!

I felt like eating teriyaki beef /chiche no bowl. Two to choose from at Citidal outlet… ‘Roll it’ or ‘Maui Style’ I should of tried ‘Roll it’ it couldn’t of been as bad as Maui and I’m starving usually you think food is better… it’s nasty ‘chew foeva beef’ and watered down instant salad potatoes. I still ate it all I’m starving lol
