History

Established in 1969.

LACNY LOGISTICS was founded over 37 years ago. At its inception, LACNY operated as a Shippers Agent. LACNY was named for the major cities in which it directed business; Los Angeles, Chicago and New York.

Deregulation, with the advent of the Staggers Act and later the passage of the Motor Carrier Act, allowed LACNY to take on a new focus. In spite of the invasion of the trucking world by thousands of companies, LACNY committed itself to learn and understand what customers needed. It was much more than simply moving cargo from point A to point B.

Our operation has found ways to meet shipping challenges by maintaining high expectations for our personnel. We specialize in accommodating our customers’ needs. With the opening of LACNY Express Freight Transportation Inc. i.e. «LEFTI», we are better suited to handle your So Ca trucking needs. Our equipment includes tractors to handle your container/​trailer load shipments as well as bobtail/​straight trucks that can handle your LTL freight.

In 1983/​84, I was on a fact finding committee which presented information to the FMC regarding Shipper Associations in the iternational business. This had to do with how associations would be defined and protected by the Shipping Act of 1984. In years to follow, I negotiated Service Contracts with several non-​conference carriers. I also operated a Container Freight Station. I have traveled to several Far East countries in the 80s and early 90s. All of this international experience happened while I worked for a management company. The management company controlled several interests. One of which was LACNY. In 2003, the partners split up. Two of the partners and I raised capitol to restructure LACNY. I was the operating officer. One year later I bought my partners out.
