I tried this salon in late January for a last minute haircut before an interview. I had Jaime and she did great work. Cleaned up my hair, but kept it how I wanted. I saw Jaime at least one more time after that. We made an appointment for me to come back in a few weeks to keep up with it, which was fine. When I got to my appointment, in early April, I found out that somehow I had been booked with Angelica. I was a little nervous since I had already had two good experiences with Jaime and did not really want to try a new person. We talked about what I wanted, where I was with my hair, etc. Everything was going well, we were making the typical salon small talk. I made an offhand comment about how my hair grows fast. This is where things went bad. About halfway through the cut, she asks me, «Your hair grows fast, right?» So I confirmed that yes, it grows fairly fast. I’m thinking she’s coming from more of a styling angle. Then she asks me again. And a third time. I knew something was up at this point. I also knew when the other stylist came over and said, «There’s a lot of hair over here!» I got really quiet, finished the cut, paid, and walked out. I had walked in saying that I wanted bangs and something a little new. My hair was about mid-upper back, layered, just growing out and looking for something nice for spring/summer. I walked out with hair above my shoulders, a bang line that is uneven and far too wide, hair that was thicker on one side and thinner on the other, and just chopped up. I cried when I got home. There was nothing I could do to salvage it other than let it grow. I got it blown out at a Drybar near my office, and even that stylist said it looked like she slipped and just missed half my hair. The photo I’ve posted was taken today after growing it out for over a month and getting it fixed up a bit. This was how chopped up it was. My «bangs» are uneven to the point where if I pull my hair back, it looks like I was given a bowl cut. tl;dr — Jaime is amazing, beware of Angelica

Thank you Kelly for helping with an eyelash crisis! She was so knowledgable and reassuring after a horrible bridal party trial with another«makeup artist». Everyone at the store was so helpful and kind. I immediately made my appointments to come back to ulta for wedding hair and makeup. Thank you!!!

This review is for Angelica. She gave me a really good haircut with layers and angles and then blow dried it well. She was knowledgable on products and showed me what she used to blow dry my hair.

This review is for both Laura at the salon and Carissa at the brow bar for benefit. I can’t say enough wonderful things about here two ladies. The work they both do they definitely take pride in and are truly artists. It’s so nice to be able to do everything in one place and have it done well. They make me beautiful again! Thank you ladies!

A well done haircut always makes you feel good, so I call Laura, my hair stylist at Ulta in Commack my miracle worker. A truly good cut will grow out as beautifully as it looks when you step out of the salon and hers last a long time. She has worked with me for a few years now. I sometimes bring pictures of styles I like, and she has altered them slightly for my particular hair and face and I’ve always felt like I looked my best when I got out of her chair.

I love this place! I will be returning for sure. This store has so many great products and not so bad prices! If I won the lotto, I’d buy this store out =).

Don’t overlook the salon if you’re looking for a haircut. They can usually take walk-ins or same-day appts and the stylists are very highly qualified. They’ll tell you the products they used without pushing the sales, and you get 10% off if you buy anything in the store the same day you get a salon service(ask for the coupon from your stylist).

Any other typical Ulta. Great products, nice rangeof mid-end brands to drugstore brands. The only thing about this paticular store is that they are always out of stock!

The store itself is wonderful — more nail polish colors and brands than I realized ever existed. Plus they mix in high end cosmetics(bare essentials, Stila) with drugstore makeup(Maybelline, Rimmel). They’re almost always having a promotion that involves some amazing deal. And if you get the circular, there’s usually a coupon that gives you $ 3-$ 5 off your purchase. The cashiers can be a little oblivious sometimes, but I never leave here without buying something. I got a facial here for the first time, and it was pretty good. Very relaxing, with a cosmetologist that knew what she was doing, asked some great questions, and made knowledgeable recommendations. She didn’t pressure me into purchasing extras or products, which was nice. The only gripe I had was that people kept walking in and telling her she had company. Then she would actually leave and go say hi to her friend. Not very relaxing. Nonetheless, I’m willing to chalk this up to an isolated incident. Prices were decent, too — $ 55 and up for facials.
