History
Established in 1930.
The founders of the firm, Julian Smith and Alexander Carroad, commenced the practice of law as Smith & Carroad in 1930. In the early 1940’s, Abraham Brass joined the firm as an associate, followed by Donald Victor, in 1950. In 1953, Mr. Carroad passed away. Upon Mr. Smith’s retirement in 1956, Mr. Brass and Mr. Victor continued the practice under the name of Smith, Carroad, Brass & Victor. In the early 1970’s, the firm moved from lower Manhattan, to offices in Floral Park, New York. In 1977, shortly before Abraham Brass’s retirement, Robert S. Levy joined the firm as an associate. In 1980, Robert Levy became a partner. In 1982, the firm name was changed to Smith, Carroad, Levy & Victor. In 1985, Donald Victor retired from active practice, but continued to serve as counsel to the firm. In 2008, Timothy Wan became a partner.
