Commack Hand Car Wash

First time coming here and I’m currently sitting in my car cleaning the inside because they did such a terrible job. I’m pressed for time and need to get to work. I called the owner Fran and she tells me to come in so they can re do the inside and that there’s no line. I tell her I can’t make it in today because I need to get to my job and she fires back with an attitude and I said you should at least offer a coupon or something and she tells me «this conversation is over» and hangs up. Not a way to run a business buddy. will never recommend this place and never coming back! Sad excuse for a car wash. 36 dollars later and I’ll have to wash and vacuum the inside myself. Also they don’t clean your running matts.

I recently purchased a new car from Huntington Honda and part of their thank you was a free full service car wash at the Commack hand car wash. The dealership put a date of 3÷1÷16 on the free offer and that I had 30 days to use the coupon from that date. Today I went to redeem the coupon and the manager/​owner a short man with glasses and a beard was extremely nasty towards me. He told me I could not use the coupon and that Honda keeps trying to scam them. He was extremely nasty, arrogant, and unprofessional. As a manager myself I would never have treated a customer this way over 19.99. I hope that 19.99 was worth the loss of customer and everyone I know and do business with for life. None the less the interior of the car was not even clean and the worker stated that they are told not to wipe the screens down due to being liable if they get scratched. Worst car wash by far and will never return because of one nasty man.

Took my very dirty car here today for the first time and I was very impressed.
There is almost always a wait that trails onto Jericho Turnpike, but early this afternoon it wasn’t bad at all. I used a coupon to get 3 dollars off which equaled $ 9.77 which I think it very good for an exterior wash. As previously mentioned, my car was very, very dirty and it came out completely spotless. The guys who work there were nice enough and did a thorough job so Commack Hand Car Wash just landed a new customer.

My car was still dirty when you took a good look at it. So disappointed. Dirty side view mirrors, drivers side window, dead bug guts still on front bumper. I couldn’t wait to finally get my car washed and I had a coupon for a free car wash (My family member prepaid for a booklet of free wash coupons). I will not be back.

There is a Unilocalers discount here. There are people in the car wash actually cleaning your car. The store inside was clean, the bathroom was clean and they had numerous items (air freshners, license plate covers, all kinds of car stuff). The new gal at the counter was friendly. I didn’t realize there was a coupon until I paid already. The car was clean, dried, vacuumed and returned like new. Not so sure why past people rated do poorly. I had an excellent experience.

34.00 for a car wash and the want to charge extra to spray the salt off the mats. NEVER AGAIN

Best little car wash? More like best little rip off! I paid $ 32 for a premier car wash expecting a decent job, but I got wasn’t even close to that. The outside of my car was alright, not good, but enough that I wouldn’t have had a complaint if it wasn’t for the rest. A few water swirls and not too much tire shine used but whatever. What i’m so bothered about was that the inside of my car wasn’t even touched! It’s winter in New York which meant that my car was extra grimy. I had a lot of dirt spots and smudges on my good box and dash, coffee stains, loose ashes from smoking cigarettes in my car, etc. Not a spec of dirt or grime was removed from the interior of my car although I paid for their best wash! I’m assuming it was a rush job because they had just shut their doors for the day a few cars after me. I understand working long hours and being eager to reach the end of the day, but as someone in the customer service industry i also believe you should give every paying customer a worthwhile experience whether they are the first, fiftieth or last of the day! Rather than complain to people who obviously have no care for the level of service they’re providing, I went to Pep Boys and bought myself some Armoural to finish the job. If I wanted to clean my own car I would have done so in the first place and saved myself money. That is the last time I go to that Car Wash. I will continue to venture to Port Jeff to my usual place for quality rather than convenience.

If it was allowed I wouldn’t even give this place one star, just paid $ 30 for a super wash and on the inside the only thing they do is clean the dashboard, cup holders still sticky, my seats weren’t wiped down looks like it did when I brought it in. Will never return to this rip off of an establishment again!

After a bad experience at another local car wash, Commack Hand Wash took control and made my car look pristine! It truly is a hand car wash, which means no harsh material slapping against your vehicle.
I personally will continue to go to Commack Hand Wash. I was impressed by their service and attention to detail. Although it may be quite busy on the weekends, it is worth the wait.

I have been coming to this Car Wash for years. Always a long line to wait on but they do an amazing job with the outside of your vehicle, the inside is always hit or miss depending on who you have. Despite that, I always found that it was all worth it to keep going back. Every once in a while I will find a groupon which makes it even more worth going to this car wash.
Recently, I purchased a groupon and realized it was about to expire. I decided to go on the last day the groupon was valid. As I pulled up to the entrance I saw that the cones were up not allowing any cars in, probably due to the fact that it had been raining earlier that day. I called them and explained to them what just happened and asked if there was anyway to use my groupon on another day. The guy on the other end of the phone was extremely unhelpful and rude. «No, there is no way to use your groupon another day, you had 90 days to use it and there is nothing I can do about the weather». I felt that was very poor customer service! If I can not use the groupon after it is expired because they decided to close on my expiring date then please find a more polite way of telling me rather than telling me you don’t control the weather!
We’ll see if I return to this car wash again.

Has to be the worst car wash I’ve ever been to. Paid $ 30 and got dirty rims, dirty cup holders, they didn’t vacuum under the mats, didn’t touch the back of the SUV. Horrible.

WORST CAR WASH. A 2 yr old would of did a better job and I paid $ 31 for the premier wash. I’m looking out of my windshield this morning and I realized they missed cleaning the center of it. Plus they use such little tire dressing that it’s off already. PISSED OFF CUSTOMER

Outrageously overrated. They do a solid job cleaning outside, inside is average at best; does not justify the price.
The people working the counter are exactly as described in other reviews, rude at best. They clearly hate dealing with any coupons, and look as if each transaction is actually physically painful to do.

Got there at 5:55PM on a Tuesday evening and they already had the cones up blocking the entrance to the car wash.
C’MON MAN!!! Your business is open until 6:00PM, not 5:55!

I live in Ronkonkoma and have been going to this place for over 6 years; well worth the 15 minute drive. They’ll do a great job on your car on the outside… The inside is always done ok, not great. Each time I go, no matter who I get, they always seem to forget to clean my rear-​view mirror and underneath my E-​brake.
So, I’m taking away one star for their failure to do that, though it is minuscule. Also taking away one star for the customer service on the inside. The cashiers there never seem lively, always bored and looking like they don’t want to be there. You have a job, be happy!

Second time I have been to this car wash, and second bad service. For the second time in a row they did not clean the roof adequately. There is clearly visible dirt over most of the roof. Last time at this car wash for me, there are better alternatives only a short distance away!

I’m sad to say that even though I have been going to this establishment off and on for the past ten years or so, my experience the other day ensured that I will not be returning.
First of all, shame on me for not washing my own car since it was a beautiful fall day. But you know how it is, when it’s been months and months since you’ve gotten a «professional» wash and you want to treat your car with a little extra TLC.
I was kind of surprised that the car washes were so expensive, $ 19 for the cheapest. This is much higher than I remembered. But I splurged for the «deluxe» at $ 22.49. I figured why not, there is a Unilocal check-​in for half off. I leave my car with the professionals and mosey on in to the land of air fresheners and random car knick-​knacks.
Other reviewers are right when they say the service on the inside is less than friendly. The woman at the register is blabbering on to someone else (friend/​other customer/​co-​worker?) about how she hates when people expect deals or use coupons for services.
Caught off-​guard, I give the cashier my receipt. I pay. I go outside, and a minute later realize I had forgotten to show my Unilocal check-​in. I go to talk to her, and she takes an attitude with me, saying that she doesn’t know what Unilocal is and that she has no idea what I am talking about. Mind you, I have the app open on my phone and I am showing her the offer and trying to explain how it works. She cuts me off and says since she doesn’t know anything about it, there’s nothing she can do, and since I already paid she doesn’t really care, going on to say that there is no way to process a refund. Bull you-​know-​what. In my life, I have worked at countless retail places. And processing refunds is a daily occurrence, and a common one. Had she been nicer about it, I wouldn’t have cared so much, but she was flippant and quickly dismissed me, so I just said, «Ohhhhkayyy…» and waited for my car.
I also agree with the other commenters that while this place does a great job with the outside of your car, the inside is kind of neglected. The windshield was dirty, and the dash wasn’t wiped down. And the most major annoyance — in between the seats I have a built-​in dish area (that’s the technical term for it, right?) where I usually throw change or whatever (not the center console that has a closed lid). My car was completely empty, save for an I heart Art button, a chap stick, and my hands-​free ear bud. I get into my car, the chap stick is under the driver’s seat, the button is under the passenger seat, and my hands-​free bluetooth? No where to be seen. You really can’t linger the way they have your cars angled and positioned to get out onto Jericho Tpke. I wrongly assumed I would find it later. It’s gone. Bye-​bye, $ 50. Bye-​bye, $ 22.49 which is INSANELY overpriced relative to what they do. And I gave this dude a $ 5 tip? Pshhhhh. Shame on me again. And shame on you, Commack Hand Car Wash. You used to be the bees knees. What happened?

Car Wash
This place always has a line to get in and I am not the kind of guy that likes to wait however, I took advantage of an Amazon coupon for three Ultra Washes even though this place is a bit out my way — but the price was right so I figured what the hell.
I’ve been there a few times and it is hit or miss on the final detail items like getting the windows clean. Depends on the guy who gets your car after it is washed.
It is 100% hand washed — and they do a good job with that — believe me, on a black car it is not easy to get all the dirt by hand. I have a pet peeve about the windows so for me, it drives me bugshit when there are streaks and missed spots– which you generally see at night — just when you need an ultra clean windshield the most. I live in an extremely dark area and the streaks are magnified by headlights that come out of the dark.
All in all they do a good job — I was hoping for a spectacular job but I have had much worse.
Be prepared to wait on line going in and as the finish your car since they are always mobbed.

Let’s start off this way… it’s a car wash… not a baby sitting service. It is hand washed and is quick. They have special deals from time to time. Their monthly is a good value if you cannot afford the time to wash your own car, which I usually do. Nobody can clean my car like me!
People working there are not the most friendly. As a matter of fact, the women at register was quite nasty to my wife when she was signing u for 2 month unlimited express car wash. Seems they run deals, but don’t like when people take advantage of the discounts.
At the end of the day, they are good and provide a decent service. What else can one expect from a car wash business???

The Commack hand car wash is my usual go to spot for washing Tobiko (my car). I drive 25 minutes from Coram to get him washed here… Overall I think it’s the best car wash for your rides’ exterior needs however they only do a mediocre job on the interior. This compared to the usually thorough and phenomenal interior cleaning job that Touch of Class in Smithtown does however TOC isn’t hand wash. Commack usually has coupons in val-​pak or on the web that you can print out and save $ 4 – 5 which is huge on pricey car washes…
If Commack could step up their interior job after your car comes out of being washed and do simple things like not mess up your mirrors and put your floormats back the way they’re supposed to be and on the floor mat hooks/​tabs so they don’t get stuck under your pedal causing your car to drive out of control crashing in to people, trees and other cars because your gas pedal is stuck Toyota Camry style, they’d get a full 5 stars.
