I’ve walked by this place so many times strolling along Indianola Ave, but I don’t think I will anymore. I finally stopped in, and found some really great deals, and nice antique selections for this tiny shop. This place is not ginormous by any means, it’s just a small little antique store with some nicely picked goods. The owner is extremely enthusiastic and passionate about what she carries in the store, and is happy to point out the oddities in her collection, which believe me, they have some head scratching items here like dental equipment, suppository molds, and animal skulls. What really got me was the price. Most of these small stores are known for price gouging, so when I picked up a lot of items expecting the worse, I was pleasantly surprised and even took a piece home with me. Ask questions! The Owner knows a lot about the items she carries, and also about origin sometimes from the people she purchases from. She had some really nice older Mexican Folk art wood carvings. I couldn’t pass up on them. They were so reasonably priced. I should have bought more. She also has the small kitschy knick knack items that could fill a void in your antique loving heart, or home. The setup and layout is nice here. The fun part about Antique stores to me is the hunt. Not necessarily with some sort of grand idea of saying«I specifically need this item.», but finding those small, weird pieces hidden about like a bejeweled Easter egg, just waiting for your picking. Even with the small space, there’s still that good Antique store feel. She has some great vendors, and the prices are on-par from low range to moderate. There’s no snootiness here, and I really like it! The Well Appointed Home has won my vintage loving heart!
