I used to shop at the Disney Store more often when I was in California — partly for my son and partly because I used to collect Vinylmation figures. My son has outgrown them for the most part and they don’t appear to really make Vinylmations anymore. Both facts are kind of sad but it does save me money. I stopped in to check out the store for the first time since moving to Columbus and I have to say I was impressed! This store is HUGE. It feels smaller than it is because it is jam-packed from floor to ceiling with all things Disney but not in a bad way. Here is why they get a high score: The selection is massive — if there is any character you are looking for, they probably have it. Star Wars — Disney owns it and they definitely have all of the things right now. The store is tidy. Granted, I came in middle of the day during a weekday but Disney Stores can look destroyed and they didn’t. Clothes were folded and organized. Things appear to be where they belong. Nothing was on the floor. Impressive! The staff is friendly which is kind of a double edge sword — they are almost too friendly! But it is a kid’s store and they are doing their part as cast members to make the experience as Disney as possible. One employee advised me that he would swim over as fast as Ariel if I needed anything. Corny but I smiled. Even though I didn’t walk out buying anything, one of the things I was most impressed by was their prices. Yes, some of the prices seem a little high but so is the quality. A little girl’s dress up costume for Anna from Frozen is only $ 45? Really? Nice! Disney Infinity figures are the same exact price as Target or Best Buy. There is always a sale on plush or t-shirts. I really couldn’t find a thing to complain about. I didn’t buy anything this visit and probably won’t anytime soon but it was still a positive experience and if I need something for a gift, I will most definitely be back.

A super cool place to take your kids when you want to hear them beg for eveerything and leave spending 4x the amount of money you planned… …unless that’s just me.
