Terrible food. Über expensive. Serve sandwiches on white bread. No fryer. House made chips taste like kettle chips out of a bag. Do not recommend. Maybe cheap beer or a pretzel may be worth it but I’m not going back.

LOVE it here. From the fire circle out back, to the folks inside, the brunch offerings, the happy hour specials, the excellent people watching and general congregational place of the neighborhood. Hands down the best cheese and marinara I’ve had. Its a huge single wedge piece with marinara that sweet, tangy, salty all at once. Pretzel sticks are a must and will only set you back $ 1 a stick m-f from 4 – 7 pm. Brunch is a wonderful kick-back affair enjoyed by all ages, families and friends.

Really good nachos… Weak liquor drinks and the bartender was not very friendly. Lots of beer options and want to go back to try their entrees. Everything sounded really good. 3 stars for the service tonight.

Love the patio with the warm fire pit, and the pretzel sticks with queso sauce are awsome! Salty, soft and buttery. They are a dollar during happy hour. The hummus plate was just ok, the garlic hummus was way too garlicky, and the rosemary, well it just seemed wrong. The pita was good. I have had the quessadilla’s and they are OK, a bit too many black beans for my liking, but the meat is good. Also the chips and salsa are good and shareable. It is nice to have someplace convenient to the East side, with available parking spaces. Also, service is outstanding. They really know how to keep your food and drinks flowing!

Great happy hour specials, they have a nice draft list that were all half priced! We ordered some pretzel sticks and nachos and both were delicious. The pretzels are a must if you come for happy hour. Our server had a wonderful knack for timing as she would stop by every time we seemed to need something, which is impressive for a table of six. We will definitely be going back soon, hoping to get a table on the patio out back next time!

Our party of six found this little place to grab dinner and what a huge surprise it was… the food was outstanding, everyone got something different, as the menu is extensive and all agreed it was great. The nachos and pretzels are delicious, the drinks were perfection and the service was superb. We will definitely be back.

If you want a great neighborhood bar, this is your place! Great food, beer selection & service. I was there on a Wednesday & had their Italian sub, which was one of the best subs I’ve ever had.

Okay it’s been almost 4 years since I promised an update. I’ve been too busy eating here to take the time to review. Who doesn’t love nachos right? The BEST nachos ever. I seriously think they put crack in the cheese or something. I’ve even ordered them to go. Better there with the atmosphere and a beer. Love the atmosphere. Patio is top notch(my fave in Columbus.) Staff is super friendly. Every thing I have ever had there is really good. I always come back to those damned chicken nachos though. Think ordering a soft pretzel at a restaurant is silly? Try theirs and get back to me. And during happy hour they’re a buck each. With dipping sauces. Mmmmmm Cheese sauce.

Wandered in on a busy Friday lunch. We sat in the window booth, which proved too tight for a couple large guys in our party. We persevered. 3 had large size cheeseburgers and I had the lunch special. Fried Chicken. Don’t tell my doctor, but this might be the best around. Served with mashed and greens. I was in a coma. The CBs were praised by all three. Very attentive service. We’ll be back, but not in that booth.

This place is solid. Cool space, cool people, cool patio. I’m not sure I’m 100% sold on the food. I went with my parents for brunch/lunch on a Sunday and we sat on their patio. Pretty cool area with umbrellas and tables. Our server was pleasant but she looked like she just rolled outta bed which was kinda gross but whatever. It’s kind of a hipster place anyway. :) Anyway, we ordered their Sunday Barbacoa tacos and a dips appetizer. The appetizer is called«Tres Amigos.» It’s pico, guac, and queso dip. Pretty good but the guacamole was a little brown. Tasted fine though. The tacos were pretty tasty. The beef was tender and they were in corn soft shells. Nothing phenomenal but I’d get them again. We all ordered cocktails too and they were awesome. I can’t remember what we got but they were tall and strong. What I like about this place is the vibe inside on a Friday night. A group of us went for a happy hour a little while back and it’s really cool and laid back. They have awesome cocktails like I said earlier and good beer specials. Not much else to say except it’s just a cool spot and I really like Olde Town East right now. The area is booming!

The food is pretty mediocre, but the beer selection is decent and the fire pit on the patio is a winner.

This is a neat place with a nice atmosphere and back patio. The pretzels are amazing and only $ 1 on happy hour. I got the buffalo chicken with a side of chips which was okay and overpriced in my opinion.

Great neighborhood tavern. Crazy selection of brews and good eats. Minutes from downtown. Has a patio with a fire pit(great for summer nights). Mixed crowd: blue collar, white collar. Reasonably priced. Neighborhood street parking . Friendly and attentive servers and owners.

We absolutely love this place. Half off drafts is nice during happy hour, but we. Like that it’s diverse, friendly and delicious. Nice patio too. The pizza crust is unlike any other kind I’ve had. So delicious.

Had walked by several times when out walking the dog, so decided to stop in one Sunday afternoon. Sat outside on the patio. Great food, great/friendly service. Started with the red sangria … very good … the mozzarella & marinara … ask for the sauce on the side, it was a little salty, but otherwise very good. Then ordered the Cuban Sandwich, which was excellent. Would definitely recommend to any Columbus foodie. BONUS: Being a large breed dog owner, we are always looking for patios that allow our dog, and they do! We will be back

*Updated review* My husband and I probably are here about once if not twice a week. We live in the area and it is our go-to. I definitely recommend sitting on the back patio! There are umbrellas for each table and a really nice fire pit. They play good music that you can still hear on the patio. The location is great in old town east and located right next to the angry Baker. I went midday on a Saturday and parking was not bad at all, there is plenty of street parking close by. there are kettle chips instead of fries which are very good. I will definitely be going back. the prices are very good, my sandwich, chips and a pickle was only 8 bucks.

Coming from Pittsburgh, this is the first restaurant I went to when I visited Columbus this past February. I first like to say I loved the atmosphere at this tavern! The waitresses were very friendly and helpful in making selections for drinks from the bar. This tavern offers some of the best grilled cheese sandwiches, including the Jalapeño Popper that my friend had. Personally I went for the Cuban sandwich, which had thick cut spiral ham and pulled pork, not lousy lunch-meat, this has set a new standard for me for ordering Cubans for now on! This service was great and fast for the amount of traffic the tavern had and it was relatively inexpensive.

I do not throw out 5 stars at the drop of a hat, but this place is worth it! The first restaurant I visited upon arriving in Columbus made me happy I came to visit the old town area of this awesome city! This classy, hipster, hole-in-the-wall is exactly the type of bar you come to for good food. It was packed and noisy, but the service was fast and friendly! I usually do not find the bar scene comfortable, but our server did an excellent job making me feel like I was visiting an old friend. There were young and old, families and singles, all enjoying the brunch specials offered at this hidden treasure of a restaurant! If you’re worried about high prices at such a popular spot, worry not. It’s one of those rare locations that offer you far more then what you feel like you’re paying for!

The Tavern is our not-in-our-neighborhood neighborhood bar. While we do have O’Reilly’s, Tavern’s vibe is just as chill but more intimate-feeling. Dark wood, dark décor on the inside, lovely enclosed patio at the back — whiling away the time with a drink and some good food is so easy here. Whether wine, beer, or spirits, they’ve got a good selection of each and no one blinks an eye if you order either Miller High Life or a martini. The food is uniformly excellent, if sometimes mistimed — their grilled cheese variations are wonderful, provided they get to you quickly. Otherwise, they can be a lukewarm, mushy(but yet tasty) mess. Tavern nachos, pretzel sticks with slightly-spicy queso dip, baked chicken wings — their appetizers are some of the best in town. We had white pizza this time around, along with baked wings and pretzels(of course) and the pizza is solid. However, as one can get Yellow Brick pizza across the street, we’re planning to stick to the other options on the Tavern menu. Along with grilled cheese(jalapeño popper, pear and brie, for two) and pizzas, they have fish tacos and other items which are vegetarian-friendly(hummus, nachos, etc.) — no need to order salad, unless you want one. They have daily specials and happy hour as well. It’s well worth a trip to OTE to chill at the Tavern.

If you’re into a low-key atmosphere with an extensive craft beer menu(they always have a stout on draft) and good conversation(low music so you can hear!) this is your go-to Old Towne East place. The ambiance is dim light — reminds of of a swanky dive bar — if that is even a thing, Tavern Olde Towne brings it. Tip: Go to happy hour and order plently of their $ 1 pretzels which are out of this world.

Went a little early with the family. The girls went with the pretzels and they were a big hit. My son had the dip sandwich, score. I had the buffalo bleu sandwich which remaindered me of the Franks hot buffalo dip on toast. My wife had the fish tacos which she said were great. We started off the evening sharing a chicken quesadilla which was yummy. And you can’t forget the beers selection, lots of winter versions.

After going to an LBGT film screening, and checking out a south-side warehouse gallery, two good friends and I had developed the munchies. We were looking for good chicken wings, thus Tavern was suggested. We arrived here around 12:15 am, on a Saturday morning. There was a pleasant fill of local people manning the bar, and a few of the tables were occupied. Since Stephen, one of my good friends, lives a few houses down from this joint, it’s appropriate to say he’s a regular. The female bartender/server greater us, very casual gal, asked Stephen how things were going; she didn’t even have to ask what he wanted to drink — got him his German beer right away :) Not too many times can you find true«neighborhood bars» any more. Loved the local vibe oozing outta this place We each got our own order of chicken wings. Mine? Plain with ranch dipping sauce on the side. They were FANTASTIC! Crispy, lightly seasoned, meaty. the dipping sauce too was great. It came in alarmed than normal bowl — I was elated I didn’t have to try and figure out how to fit the big juicy wing into some Benadryl size, tiny cup — shhwww! I love forward to eating here more. I definitely want to try more of their dishes!

One of my favorite happy hour spots. Love the half priced beers and the soft pretzels; they are really amazing! Also, their vegetarian nachos can serve at least a table of four. Great value! The Tavern is situated in one of my favorite neighborhoods and the atmosphere is perfect for unwinding for the evening. Check out their brunch Saturday and Sunday, 11am — 3pm. Strawberry infused sausage.
