Swan Kennels & Training Center

After a terrible experience with another boarding facility in West Point, we were a little hesitant and nervous about boarding our German Shepherd, Kekoa. We decided to tour Swan Kennels after reading the great reviews on Unilocal.Talk about great curb appeal! We loved that it was out in the country on the owners’ beautiful property. The facility was extremely clean, and all the dogs being boarded looked comfortable. I loved that each kennel had a small outdoor run to get some fresh air.
After the tour, we decided to reserve this past Halloween weekend for our dog. I was still a little nervous all weekend because they didn’t have a webcam (which I usually like to have since I’m a self-​proclaimed helicopter dog mom). I was also a little sad that they close on Sundays, so we had to wait until today to pick him up; however, I understand that they have to stick to their business hours!
When my husband picked Kekoa up this morning, he said he looked super energized; not frightened and stressed out like when I picked him up from the other boarding facility. He looked like he did so well at Swan Kennels, so we will be using them again (and recommending them to friends) for boarding.

My husband and I have dealt with a lot of kennels in the 8 years that we’ve had our highly energetic Shiba Inu and our skiddish Golden/​Lab mix. We have seen it all! Swan happens to be located only 5 minutes from our home in the outskirts of town so we chose it when we first got here. That was 2 years ago and we’ve never looked at another kennel again! Everyone is so sweet, adore our dogs, and the kennel conditions are lovely. Oh, and the price ain’t bad at all!!! We will be sad when the Air Force takes us away from here and we have to start anew!

I had to bring my dog for boarding on short notice. I was very hesitant, as I have never boarded my dog before. The people at Swan were extremely helpful and worked to help fit me in. The facilities were immaculate and spacious. The people were friendly and inviting. You can tell they really love animals and treat them well. When I picked my pup up three days later, he was full of energy and very happy.
I would definitely use Swan Kennels again and highly recommend it. Make your reservations in advance, they book up quickly because they’re the best around.

I have been using Swan Kennels since 2006. The facilities are the best I have seen. It’s obvious that Swan Kennels cares about the dogs. Every year it seems they are improving the facility in some way.
Reggie Swan kept Barney, my ACD 3 months for obedience training. Barney may have not been an honor grad, but he definitely improved. He obeys 90 per cent of my commands, and with a little nudging the other 10 per cent LOL.
The kennel is very popular, so be sure to call for reservations if you are wanting a weekend and especially for holidays. He also has facilities for cats, of course separately from the dogs.
