Skyline is always good. My daddy is from Cinci, so it will always have my heart(and belly). To write a review based on style is silly. I wouldn’t give a Chicago deep dish pizza place a bad review because I prefer New York style… But y’all need to get your hours right on Unilocal, because this location and the nearest one BOTH listed hours incorrectly and I almost died from starvation because of your lies and deceit.

Excellent service and food today. Our server’s name was Tiara and she was awesome. Checked on us several times and was always attentive to our needs. You could tell she runs circles around the other employees.

by far the worst food I have ever had, lowest quality hot dog you can find that is an unnatural white color with«chili» that resembles baby diarrhea… I don’t know how locals like this stuff but anyone not from Ohio thinks this is just garbage… btw chili isn’t supposed to be runny like its ragu pasta sauce.

I was anxious to try Skyline since I have never had the opportunity and I know they have a cult like following with some folks. I must say that I wasn’t really impressed. The chili just wasn’t what I thought it would be. It was very flat and I couldn’t understand what all the hype was about. They definitely don’t skimp on the cheese and that is a good thing. The hot dog was ok with a crisp casing and the bread was fresh. As a whole, I don’t think I will be back. There wasn’t anything that made this place memorable and there are way too many options to have a mediocre meal in this area.

I give this place 5 stars not because it’s the most creative, innovative, local, organic, fresh food I have ever tasted. But because as a Cincinnati native, I can’t live without it! It brings back memories of growing up with chili parlors all around. Skyline has table service that is friendly and efficient. It makes a difference when you want to eat fast but not in a grimy fast food place. I’ve tried many things but I always go back to the 3 way!

It’s Skyline time. You either love this place or hate it. I love it. This is a great location. The service is consistent and super fast. Cathy always does a great job. My favorites are: extreme cheese coney, Greek salad, chilito and the 3 way. I load everything up with their awesome hot sauce. When I feel like going big I ask them to cover the chilito with extra chili and cheese. So good! My kids like sitting at the bar and they even have arts and crafts every Wednesday. I love the food but almost always dine in because it doesn’t travel well. The cheese gets too melty before I get home.

I went to this Skyline on August 15th with my wife. It’s a good example of what a Skyline restaurant should look like, but there were a couple small negatives that kept me from rating it 5 stars. The good: friendly service, clean, fresh oyster crackers(opposed to stale ones), offered a drink to go, offered bibs, food was of expected quality. The bad: my wife and I went at night, and there was no overhead lighting in the parking lot or surrounding area. It made it very difficult to see. Also, I took my Skyline ambassador card, which lets me eat from a cool blue plate, which wasn’t brought out. I know that’s a petty thing to complain about, but it was my first time using the card and I was excited to eat from the blue plate. I’m always talking up Skyline, and despite the couple of hiccups with this location, I’ll absolutely go back.

This is by far the best skyline I have been to. I grew up in the area and on skyline but then moved to New York! Whenever I come back I always stop at a skyline and I am so glad we found this one! Top notch!

Awful. Was pumped because I love chili 5-way. The chili was this flat, sticky-dry, pale brown flat lump. Tasteless, except the cinnamon. Wimpy, shredded cheddar and some onions over out-of-the-box spaghetti noodles. So disappointed.

Skyline Chili is a place people either love to hate or simply love. I’m one of the latter. Yes they do use WAY too much cheese. Yes their chili isn’t really traditional chili and tastes somewhat like cinammon and, in some cases, chocolately, but I’ll be doggone if it doesn’t all work quite well as a whole. I was never really a huge fan of getting Skyline chili but would eat it occasionally if the occasion presented itself but my girlfriend really likes it so we’ve gotten it a bit more since I got together with her a few years ago and let me tell you that Skyline will really grow on you. This particular location is where we always go to get large orders for carryout and they have never, ever(knock on wood) screwed up an order. While I tend to favor the actual spaghetti my girlfriend loves their hot dogs so we usually get a mixture. One item on the menu I never forget to order is the chilito with sour cream. Yes it’s small and a bit overpriced but wow, it’s got some awesome taste and texture to it. I’d highly recommend it. Also, don’t forget to try their spicy cheese if you like spicy food. Unlike most fast food it’s actually a bit hot which makes it a nice change of pace. And don’t be afraid to pull some cheese off the hot dog or spaghetti if it really makes your arteries clog just looking at it. I don’t but please don’t tell that to my doctor or I’ll hear the lecture about cholesterol yet one more time!

I had never been to a Skyline, let alone heard of one until my second visit to Columbus. A Cinci favorite, Skyline prides itself on their Coneys and Chili. Topped high with cheese, this or the 3 way is definitely the way to go. I liked the chili in particular because it doesn’t contain beans but has added chocolate sauce when it’s made. Definitely something to try when in town!

This Skyline Chili is in the Polaris area in north Columbus. As I cannot get Skyline Chili in Alabama, I take every opportunity when I’m in Cincinnati, Dayton, Indianapolis, Clearwater or Columbus to get a Five-Way and a Cheese Coney. They now have the Extreme Habanero Cheese full-time which is a bit tastier than the standard Cheddar(but Cheddar is great too). I have not tried the Burrito or other menu items because I cannot get away from the Five-Way. This location is very convenient and easy to get in and out via a lighted intersection.

If you’ve ever lived in or visited Cincinnati, you know they do chili all wrong compared to the rest of the country. But in Cincinnati, soupy, finely ground chili with a dash of cinnamon and chocolate is king and Skyline is the favorite. I grew up a Navy brat and lived pretty much everywhere but my dad was originally from Northern Kentucky and would crave this stuff. He’d have my grandparents and aunts ship it to him no matter where we lived. I never was a super big fan of it, but after so much exposure, and working in one of the Skyline restaurants in Dayton, it really grew on me and I find myself having bizarre urges to drive until I find a Skyline and chow down. That all being said, this location did not disappoint me when last that unquenchable desire struck. Our waiter was great — super attentive, on top of his game. Our drinks never ran dry(very big plus in my book), our food was on our table almost the second the kitchen was done preparing it, we had our bill delivered without having to ask, he brought us a box when he saw we were struggling to finish. Super A++ to him. And super A++ to any manager who has trained their wait staff so well. The prices are fair and the taste is great — if you like Cincinnati style chili — so do stop in.

Limited menu, but they do it well, they are very fast and very affordable. Service is usually very good. Wednesday is kids night and it gets hectic, but they handle it well.

Since my first Skyline Chili encounter a decade ago, not only am I still a huge 5-Way Chili & Spaghetti fan(order it «inverted»), I’ve come to really like their Greek Salad. Not only are the ingredients fresh and tasty, the dressing is absolutely killer! When I’m feeling disobedient to my diet, I love to scarf on some of their Cheese Coneys — smaller hot dogs served on steamed buns loaded with chili, cheese and onions. Yum-Yum! I typically can’t stop there. I love any of their burritos — chili, bean or vegetarian. None of their fare would be adequate without applying their secret ingredient — their patented hot sauce which is available at every table. I love it so much that I even apply it to the soup crackers that come with every chili meal. If you want a break from the fast food jungle, Skyline is one of the best alternatives around. It’s an Ohio original to boot. Chow down & enjoy!
