Outstanding service, quality merchandise, and reasonable prices. I’ve shopped there several times, and always get friendly, but not pushy, offers to help. Needed part for toilet, and staff steered me away from kit with several parts I didn’t need, and showed me to just the part I needed for a fraction of the price of the kit. I always make this my first stop, and I’m never disappointed.

I am a new resident of the area. I moved into a new home last summer. I stop in often and have gotten many deals on paint and home projects. The staff is always friendly and they make sure that they explain to me what the best possible option is. I love it and shop there very often. Nice prices on mulch and basic hardware supplies. I love the reward options and I get a lot of little deals. Not much money for most items.

I do a lot of workin’ when I am on the South Side. All I have to say is: «I love it when I can get everything I need at Schreiner without having to resort to the big box stores.»

I needed an industrial stapler so I called ahead to check if they had any and they did. Normally I go to Lowe’s but I decided to try ACE for a change. The price was cheap enough so I . The lady who answered the phone when I called was at the front working the cash register so I asked her for help. I won’t say she was rude but her personality was very flat and annoyed. She paged a coworker to show me the staplers and Dustin was somewhat knowledgeable. I got my stapler and staples went back to my office and had to come right back because the stapler was defective. Sigh. I returned to the store and picked out another stapler. The return was easy but Hope was still annoyed. One of the main issues of the store that will probably deter me from coming back, is the use of cages on items. You ever go to a cvs and the condoms and razors and baby formula are behind glass? That’s what this felt like. I understand loss prevention but it seems like more of a hassle to me. Like you have to be escorted around the store to find items that are locked up.

The staff at this store is remarkably knowledgeable about home repair. You may pay a few cents more than at a big box store but the service is amazing. They also carry all kinds of stuff for«old’ houses that the big box guys don’t, including the faucets for claw foot cast iron tubs. They also cut glass for wood frame windows and do screen window repair. They also have some of the best deals in town on hot water heaters of all things. A great old fashioned neighborhood hardware store.

Excellent helpful staff here. I found a storage rack of 60 small bins that I wanted to use for small crafts on their website. I called to ask and the guy insisted to look it up and see if it was in stock, it was so I dropped by. To my dismay, the one on the shelf was unwrapped and broken, the guy really apologized to me. I did however find a good one with a different bin setup right next to it on the shelf, so I bought that. As I was leavning, much to my surprise, he ended up giving me the broken one gratis!(it was functional, but some support was broken). That was a kind gesture that will indeed go a long way in keeping me coming back for more. The only thing I wish they would do is tie in their inventory system online, so we didn’t have to call to check stock. With how friendly they are though, I know I can trust them to let me know quickly what’s there!
