Schodorf Truck Body & Equipment

We’ve been using these guys for almost 30 years and they have always done great work and we get our equipment back pretty quickly. I find that their prices are great and they are very helpful over the phone if have some questions about things.

We bought and paid for a new chip box to be installed on our brand new truck, and the work done was shockingly shoddy. Rust, sub-​standard welds, and peeling paint were ubiquitous on the chip box, and Schodorf had installed a manual PTO instead of the automatic PTO, as ordered.
It’s been a total nightmare since then as we tried for months to get them to correct the mistakes. We’re in Seattle, so we couldn’t just drive it back to them. We emailed them photos galore, we paid for a professional inspection of the welds, and we sent them inspection reports of the paint.
They responded by sending us two spray cans of black paint that we were supposed to spray onto the rusted undercarriage, and they offered to pay for ONE weld to be re-​done. We spent $ 7,000 of our own money to repair all the problems (we still haven’t replaced the PTO – that’s an additional $ 2,000 cost to us), and we were without the use of our truck for 3 months.

Schodorf used to be a reputable company with a quality product, but no longer. We are currently seeking help from the Better Business Bureau and the Attorney General of Ohio to seek full recompense for our costs.
