Room Escape Adventures

We went as part of a team-​building event for work. I was really surprised at how quickly the time runs out (plan accordingly!) while solving puzzles.
Stacey and Nat were awesome! They stayed in character and kept us actively working puzzles, even when we would get caught up in an especially challenging riddle.
Great fun and I can’t wait to see what future events are in the works!

Went there with a work group for a team-​building type of outing. There were 10 of us – all men and all software developers. Great time! The guy playing the Professor did a great job of getting us up to speed and understanding what to expect. He helped us out a little bit when some of the equipment wasn’t working properly. The zombie showed great restraint yet occasionally showed great bursts of speed. He worked the crowd well. Some of the puzzles were pretty tough – however, we escaped with just 5 minutes left of 60 minutes. Would definitely recommend and would definitely do it again.

Simply the best room escape in Columbus Ohio. Incredible, novel puzzles, a friendly staff with great customer service, and a pretty fair price. This is the one I recommend friends go to first so they understand the quality of what a room escape game can be before moving to the other places in Columbus.

STILL HUNGRY is a fantastic escape room! Congrats on upping the game from the previous room! The puzzles require thought, listening and definitely cooperation. Can’t wait to come back when more rooms open. Stan was a fantastic and funny zombie. Stan loves to dance! Stacy was very helpful and thoughtful with her assessment of our progress at the end! Stacy likes wasabi pants! We escaped with lots of sweat and 4:19 remaining!

This was so much FUN! It was challenging and exciting. There were many moments of pure panic. I personally screamed bloody murder more than once. If you like puzzles and riddles then try this room out!

I took my family today as a surprise Christmas present. In general the premise is good. Mike the Zombie was a great actor. The girl in the room with us was not well informed, she did not recognize that their equipment was broken and did not know how some of the games worked. We were in the second room and I do NOT recommend that room. TWO of the major pieces of the story/​puzzle broke down. I don’t want to give away the game but one of the safe batteries died so there was no possible way to open it. Also the middle of the room game died and so its puzzle pieces could not be won either. There was no possible way to win these 2 puzzles. With one malfunction I can see just an apology, but with 2 malfunctions we should have gotten at least a partial refund or an offer to repeat in a different room. This place has potential but I would not go back until they pay more attention to their set.

Taste like chicken lives another day! Great time and fun clues. Excellent work Prof. Michael and Zombie Stan. We’ll be back for the second room soon! UHHH OOOOO!

I was expecting a cheesy team building event, but NOPE. It was really great — a lot of fun, occasionally tense and puzzling, and we even got a detailed team evaluation at the end that highlighted skills our team members actually demonstrate in the office. It was uncanny. We’re talking about going back to try the other puzzle room.
Special thanks to Michael and Tabi, our hosts (the good doctor and the zombie), who made it challenging and exciting.
Highly recommended for corporate team-​building (up to 12 people in a group), and it would make a fantastic get-​out-​of-​the-​house family activity, too.

Never did anything like this before so was pretty excited and didn’t really know what to expect. There was 9 of us total in the room. I think it may have actually been a little easier with less people because everyone was all over the place. We did not finish in time but it was a lot of fun and I definitely want to go again since I know what to expect now. The actors did a wonderful job

So much fun! The staff stayed in character the entire time and the puzzles and riddles were hard but not too hard. We didn’t make it out in time, if we had 30 more seconds we could have cracked the last lock but working together with strangers is difficult! It adds to the experience though, it’s unusual to really step outside of your usual group of people to have an experience together and it’s definitely a valuable part of the experience. We will be going back to do the second room, I only hope it’s not too long before they change things up so we can go a couple times a year. Also, I can’t imagine it would be nearly as fun without the zombie nipping at your heels. He did a great job!

This was such a great time. We had a small group of 12 for a birthday celebration.
I had no clue what to expect, you pretty much get put in a room, a small room at that, with an actor portraying a zombie, and puzzles/​clues you need to figure out to escape.
This was a great experience and would love to do this again. The puzzles are fun and well thought out. If you can’t figure something out, try something else, and come back to the one that is stumping you.
The people that work here are great, funny and do such a wonderful job.

For our friend Fred’s birthday, he wanted to get eaten by a zombie.
Well, not eaten, per se… rather, just chased by one for an hour! As such, a gaggle of us headed out to Columbus to indulge in a scenario by Room Escape Adventures.
Truth be told, I didn’t really know what to think, going in. I had seen something similar on an episode of «The Big Bang Theory», but aside from that? No real foreknowledge.
Going in, the building was fairly non-​descript, with only a block exterior showing. We were greeted cordially by the hosts – our «Professor» and his «assistant», as the fellow who was about get zombified for our amusement. All three provided a great, immersive role-​play experience with tons of great quips being thrown about. Special props go to the zombie himself, who really threw himself into the role!
Inside, room escape challenge involved answering a series of puzzles that, when solved, would provide a piece of a combination to a combination lock. Within that combination-​locked box lay the key we needed for our escape.
I won’t spoil any of the puzzles here, as it’s something that you really need to experience for yourself, I will provide a few hints.
1) Look *everywhere*. There are a bunch of clues and puzzle components hidden in very unlikely places.
2) The zombie is attracted to noise. You can effectively «tank» the zombie by attracting him to people clapping or making noise.
3) Share your information! If you know something, make sure that others know it. That’s hard to do, in among all the noise, but make sure you direct your comments to people who need the information.
4) For a while, you can limit the zombie’s movement by getting him to wrap his chain around the central desk. After a while, that just doesn’t work, though!
5) Don’t give up! Just keep piecing things together and you can make it through!
All told, we had a blast. We didn’t survive, mind you – we only got 3 pieces of the combination together before our time ran out – but we all had fun.
If you do try a Room Escape Adventure sometime soon, I’d recommend doing it with 6 – 8 people. Any less and finding clues could become difficult. Any more and it gets really crowded, especially in such a small area. If you’re in the area and want to try something new, give it a whirl!

Such an amazing date night! The Zombie Escape was a great challenge, a ton of fun and something out of the ordinary. Five stars for the performance of the Zombie alone!

Wanted to go with 3.5 stars since the staff members were so great. I participated in two other non-​zombie escape rooms and enjoyed them much more. I, personally, didn’t like the zombie concept because it added a level of creep factor and completely distracted you from game play. I know this is all part of the game design and concept, but I prefer concentrating and playing the game without the zombie. I didn’t enjoy pausing the game and teeter tottering around the set for the zombie to do its part. The room was too small and there were too many people– again… IMO. I think the 30−32% survival rate is too low!
Is it great for team building? Yes!
Could you do it with family (older kids)? Yes!
Did we win? No!
Would I do it again? No, not with a zombie.
Kudos to the great game design & execution. We solved everything but needed another 30 seconds.

I want to give this 4.5 stars. My friends and I did this event twice. One was back in March, and one today (Nov 12^th). The second time was very similar to the first, but still different enough that we got stuck.
I think the puzzles were very well thought out. When the clock starts you really have no idea what’s going on. There’s just a bunch of random things placed in front of you. As long as everyone can work together, all the pieces will come together. The reason why I knocked half a star off is because of their props. Many of the puzzles that needs to be solved include manipulating certain «toys» and devices… but these things are all 90’s tech that seemed to have been abused by a kid. Even when we figured out what to do, it takes forever to get the damn thing to work. Which is super frustrating, especially since we’re fighting the clock.
Unfortunately my friends and I have not successfully made it out of the room either time. We would have been successful if we had another 30 seconds or so. I think if some of the devices worked properly, we would have been successful. I heard there’s a second version of the game coming soon. I can’t wait! I will definitely sign up. I just hope they update their props!

We were a little unsure if we had the right building at first, then we saw a sign saying, «ZOMBIE». This must be it, we thought. Ten minutes before it was time to enter the room, the zombie on the other side of the wall hit it with his chains and howled. I literally jumped three feet in the air. Needless to say, I was a little nervous.
It was three of us that went together, and we ended up having 9 strangers in our group. We worked together though, and got out with 16 seconds to spare! I would recommend buying all 12 tickets and going with a large group of friends or family. There are so many clues to find and puzzles to solve, but I won’t give anything away. The instructor was in the room with us and, if you pay attention and are stuck, he or she may give you subtle clues to get you moving in the right direction.
Also, there is another room opening up with another zombie scenario, if you went once and want to do it again with different obstacles!

We escaped with 14 minutes to spare! We didn’t know what to expect, since they keep much info about this secretive on purpose, but I’m glad they do because it made it more exciting. A large group of us went, and had a great time.
There is only 1 scenario, so you wouldn’t want to do this twice, but we were told the room will be changing in August, and I’m sure we will go again after the change.
This is a very unique experience and I highly recommend going with a group of your friends. (I randomly tried the coupon code «Zombie» and it took $ 15 off of our ticket order).
