Established in 2002.

In 1983 Fred Portman co-​founded Cloppert, Portman & Sauter, and then added current partner, Mark Foley, in 1984 to form Cloppert, Portman, Sauter, Latanick & Foley in 1985. They continued practicing in the areas of of workers’ compensation and personal injury. They left the Cloppert firm in April 2002 to start Portman, Foley & Flint, which is now Portman & Foley, LLP. The firm focuses on practice the areas of Ohio Workers’ Compensation, Personal Injury, and Social Security Disability.

Business Owner

Fred earned his BA from Ohio State in 1969, and Juris Doctor from Ohio State Law School in 1973

Fred Portman began his legal career working at the Attorney General’s Office for 1 year. Then after gaining trial experience he became a sole practitioner from 1974 to 1976.

Mark Graduated from Xavier University with a B.S. in Math and Physics, and then from Ohio State University College of Law in 1969.

Mark Foley had an active trial practice in Jackson, Ohio & the several surrounding counties and in Federal Court in Columbus and Cincinnati. Most of his work involved insurance litigation, labor and employment issues, and real property matters.

In 1983 Fred co-​founded Cloppert, Portman & Sauter, and then Mark joined 1985 to form Cloppert, Portman, Sauter, Latanick & Foley. They left Cloppert firm in April 2002 to start Portman & Foley, LLP focusing on the areas of Ohio Workers’ Compensation, Personal Injury, and Social Security Disability.
