Ever since the change this pizza hasn’t been the same! Customer service isn’t worth the drive and the pizza has lost that special quality it use to have! Not worth the drive anymore! Was a loyal customer for over 20 years and I’ve had it never returning

Just as good as I remember from my youth. I was pleasantly surprised about that! It’s really just amazing. The sauce on top of the cheese is great… You don’t have to worry about the cheese sliding off of the dough because of the sauce. The taste is great!

Sauce is placed on top of the cheese here, and there is too much sauce over too little cheese. Sicilian is the only style they serve here. A full pie is $ 18.00 Pie was ok, but nothing special. The indoor/outdoor flea market it is in is a real turnoff. Be nice if they had a sign that said line forms here. We waited 30 minutes for our takeout pie to be ready.

In the Columbus farmer’s market. Had a plain slice of «Sicilian» style pizza which was a little more than an inch thick. Outer layer of the of the dough was perfectly crisp. Dough was delish. All and all a great slice. Nothing fancy here though. As simple as it gets. No frills, not for a date night but for a quick and cheap bite on the go or for take out. I liked it better than Kate & Al’s on the other end of the flea market even though most say their pizza is identical.

mmmnnn mnnnnn good(sorry Campbell’s soup). My all time favorite food. You wouldn’t believe the slice of heaven that comes out of a flea market. I can pretty much ignore any shortcomings of this place. The pizza is that good. For all the people giving Josie a negative review, you are all wrong. She does a fine job and if you are at the counter looking for happy happy joy joy conversation maybe you should go to a diner. She always gives me my order in a timely manner or tells me when it will be ready and is usually right on. Beware though on days the outside market is running(nice weather permitting) it will be crowded and very busy. If you want a pie to go call ahead of time, or order walk around the whole market and come back for pick up. You won’t be sorry if you like pizza.

I want to start off by saying I typically hate these kind of pizzas with lots of sauce. But recently my sister in law started working at Petes and brought home a pie. Well both my sister and sister in law pushed me to try a slice and I did. I’m telling you this pizza is magic!!! I am in love with it!!! There is a lot of sauce on the pizza but it is fantastic sauce!!! I’m so mad I didn’t try it sooner! I just picked up a couple slices and now that I’m done I wish I had two more!!! I will continue to support this place and their amazing pizza for a long time!!!

Best pizza in the area but their customer service is TERRIBLE. Those two old ladies that take orders are SOSLOWWWWWW!!!. They need someone taking orders that is under the age of 45. They dont even take your order until youve been standing there for 10 minutes. Then another ten minutes for the pizza to cook. Petes pizza could be making a ton of money if they were able to take more orders.

Without a doubt the best pizza in the tri-state area if not in the nation. Consistent, inexpensive and DELICIOUS. Remember, this establishment is in a «Farmers/Flea Market» and they serve a LOT of people daily. You’re not going to get Michelin 5 star service. That said, I’ve been going here since I was a kid, All of the staff have been cordial enough to get the job done. Amy has always been nice to my family and I. I would consider their service«efficient» not rude. But the star attraction is indeed the pizza. Even moving three plus hours away, I would occasional drive all the way to Columbus JUST for Pete’s. That’s how awesome it is!

I file this place under«hidden gem». I’ve been coming here since I was a little girl for pizza here and as an adult who’s usually not really into pizza, this place still pulls at my heartstrings. The pizza here is so fresh it actually comes form the oven to your plate(which, depending on the day could be Cinderella themed, Thomas the tank themed, checkered, or dollar-store floral). Josie, the lady behind the counter, has been there as long as i can remember and she not exactly warm apple pie. But, she is quick, mostly polite, and brings you your pizza and fountain soda. It is cash only, but this is a flea market so you should really do yourself a solid and hit the ATM anyway. You never know what you’re going to find here. The pizza itself is served piping hot, crusty on the outside with a yeasty soft deliciousness on the inside. The sauce on top is a sweeter tomato sauce and has only a small amount of cheese, but the combination of all the flavors and textures really make the traditional pizza components unnecessary. This pizza is in a world of its own. I usually throw some garlic powder on it and eat hunched over the plate, since it can get a little messy. My typical«meal» here is rounded out by getting a fountain birch or root beer. Yum.

All time favorite pizza place. HANDSDOWN! Now forget Josie the not so nice woman who works behind the counter. Forget that it is cash only. Forget they have strange hours. Forget that is a little bit more than you normally spend on a pie. Focus on the fact that pizza is delicious. They do Sicilian slices/pies(the square slices). The pizza is so good it doesn’t even need toppings. They have a perfectly balanced sauce that has a sweet hint of sugar with all the flavor of tomato. The cheese is drizzled on heavy so it stretches when you bit into it, but doesn’t create that film of grease you get on other slices. I have a long time love of this place. my mother used their crust to help me teeth as a child. I went to their«mobile» location when the truck used to travel to Robeling. I have bought their pizzas frozen and driven them across country. i love this place and you will too!

This Sicilian pie is delicious, and having grown up in an Italian food mecca in NJ, I’m VERY picky with any Italian food. In fact, this is some of the best that I’ve eaten period. However, last time I was in our server was sick(lots of nose blowing) and to me that’s just unacceptable in food service. Also, the other woman working behind the counter was very rude. I’d probably go back eventually. But, those two things are MAJOR turn-offs.

For those of you(like myself) that werent sure exactly where this is, Pete’s is the pizza place inside the Columbus Market that is located directly next to the Amish store. I believe they are only open Thursday, Friday & Saturday as those are the days the market is open. Maybe Sunday too but not sure there. Anyway, having lived in the area for a long time I must admit I never gave this a try. This is probably because appearance wise, I was actually turned off by it. But I always noticed people at the counter whenever I was at the market. Well, long and behold I finally gave it a shot based on the few other Unilocal reviews I saw. I must admit it was VERY, VERY good. Now, dont expect a round pizza like you get from a pizza store. The crust is soft(not crispy) and thick(since its sicilian). Its almost like something you could make on your own at home — but much, much better. The cheese is minimal since its a tomatoe pie, not pizza. But the sauce… oh my… the sauce. This stuff is phenomenal. I don’t get how they do it… but it is AMAZING! If this stuff came in a jar, I would buy it and eat it straight. ITSTHATGOOD. Price wise, the slices as of last I lookd were $ 2/slice and a whole pizza of 10 sicilan slices(rectacngle shape) is like $ 17. Its a «tab pricey» but given they are only open 3 days a week and the rush they get on the day the market is open… it worth the premium. Plus you have to remember sicilian pies at your local pizza place are often more than the regular pizza anyway. All in all, if you are tempted to try this, its definitely, DEFINITELY worth trying if you are a tomatoe pie fan. Keep up the good pizza making Pete’s. See you soon.

Thanked my friend for directing me to this place. It doesn’t look like much But the pizza here is awesome and find myself going regularly. You can get either a whole or half sicilian pie, Defiantly try it out you won’t be disappointed.

My family and I have been eating this pizza for(I hate to admit it) decades! We love it — the taste and texture can’t be beat! Like the other review said — don’t bother with the round pizza. I like it plain with just a touch of garlic powder while my brother has to add some red pepper flakes. Plain is just plain delicious. While this is in a u-shaped counter, there are also very long picnic tables inside right next to it, for a family to be able to sit and enjoy their pizza. This is not about ambiance — just good pizza.

Pete’s Pizza is truly a diamond in the rough. It’s nestled in an indoor farmers market in the MiddleOfNowhere, NJ. Pete’s makes the most appetizing ‘tomato pies’ in NJ. It’s a far cry in comparison to authentic Italian thin crust pizza but it hits the spot when you’re in the mood for it. Their main attraction is their Sicilian pizza, don’t bother getting the round pizza, it doesn’t have the same effect. Although the cheese on their pizza is almost non existent, it’s compensated by the exceptionally seasoned tomato sauce. The crust is somewhat soft but it’s sufficient. The drinks are super small so you’ll have to order two sizes up. As for seating, it’s a single u-shaped bar counter and more likely than not you’ll be sitting next to a stranger. If you’re not from the south jersey area you might feel a bit out of place. But nonetheless, it’s worth the drive. There’s also a huge outdoor market with tons of vendors adjacent to the the indoor market. It’s open on Thurs. Sat and Sun. so I suggest going on those days just to make the most of your time.
