Definitely DONOT recommend this place. Columbus is full of way cooler bars with much friendlier staff. The people working here were incredibly rude because we came in 45 minutes before closing time. I get it, as a bartender you’re tired and wanna go home– but guess what? Staying up late and pouring drinks late is part of the gig. I’m also a bartender in Columbus and I promise I would be fired in a second if I acted the way these people treated us. I’ve never seen a bartender physically rip drinks out of patrons hands, mid-sip, but it happened here and it happened to a lot of us. The bar was still full when this girl came around screaming at everyone to get out, whining about this being her job and us being assholes for staying just minutes after 2 am, when they sold us a round of beers less than five minutes earlier. I’ve lived in Columbus my entire life and I’ve never seen such poor customer service, anywhere. Maybe it’s the trendy new thing? …to treat customers like crap? This was truly shocking experience and we will absolutely not be going back.

Great atmosphere, friendly bartenders. However, while here I ordered two Long Islands, and they tasted nothing like each other even though they were made by the same bartender. Overall, great bar, will definitely be back.

Just happened to be walking by on a Saturday morning headed to another place for brunch. When we noticed the staff setting up the brunch(saw the bacon) and saw the $ 6 price — hey, why not? Good call. Wonderful egg dishes, waffles, biscuits and gravy. Other tasty offerings also. Tasty beer too. Maybe not the biggest brunch ever but well worth it. Very nice staff also. See you next time.

This place is great why have I not come here before?! I love that this is just a good bar. They have drinks and popcorn. But for the win they have Mikey’s Late Night right outside! I adore Mikey’s. But the for the price the drinks here are amazing. They have a good number of local beers on tap and during the week happy hour prices are great. I found a good hangout spot for some beers. now no one else go here!

Excellent bloody Mary’s but the service and décor leaves something to be desired. I got the El Scorcho!!! bloody with ghost peppers and hellfire bitters. Knock your socks off! Not for the weak. I really liked the cheese on the garnish as well. I have a flare for cheese and that one is a fancy gouda I would guess. my husband and I commented that the décor confused us. Kitsch might be what they’re going for. We came for brunch on a whim. There is a buffet with waffles, French toast, sausage, bacon, biscuits, gravy, and tofu scrambled eggs. The price was right at $ 10 with a bloody Mary. You might as well get the bloody with the buffet. Is a fantastic deal. They give you a disposable plate, just one. If you want seconds you’re using it again. Disposable silverware is at the end if the buffet. The food is forgettable but a deal you can’t beat. The syrup and bacon were both out when I went up. You don’t have a server per say so everything is do it yourself(refilling water, go to the bar to get another drink). It’s OK but not my favorite bar.

They have a huge patio space, clever Tuesday trivia night, ½ off drafts for happy hour and Late Night Slice right outside. Can’t go wrong.

This place was introduced as a «Cheers» like place where everyone knows your name. It had a fun vibe to it and tasty, creative drinks, although it was unduly chilly in there.

Stumbled in here on a Sunday hunting brunch, which was great and hit the spot. Had to try the Painkiller, tasty tiki goodness and then enjoyed the side conversation on how to make marshmallow infused vodka and other crazy ideas which is fun on a Sunday morning. Bartender Kyle quickly sparked conversation with me and shared a few select random and rare liquors behind the bar. Place is laid back and comfy. Décor is great love the eyes. Didn’t use patio but love the vibe. Drinks were top quality and affordable. Great cocktail bar!

Had read about their Sunday Brunch in a few places and wanted to check it out. For 6 bucks(if you buy a drink) and 10 bucks without how could you miss? I looked at the price differences from all angles and, for the life of me, couldn’t find any scenario that it would be smart to do the 10 bucks without a drink. So I ordered the hot bloody mary. If you’re into spice I would go to the next level with Ghost Peppers as mine wasn’t spicy at all. It was delicious though. Now for the buffet. There isn’t a huge selection but what do you expect for 6 bucks? And everything that is offered is really delicious. Lots of carbs… eggs, waffles, biscuits and gravy, french toast. My eating companion brought up the point that it would be nice if they had something a little lighter like fruit.

What a weird little place… I like to call this area of the Short North the hipster zone, and Oddfellows is right in the middle of it! The crowd varies throughout the day from hipster-y to older folks looking for a bar where they can actually sit down to a younger yo-pro crowd on the weekends. I have even seen a baby shower held here on a Sunday afternoon, so the demographic definitely varies throughout the week. The drinks are unique and they are decently priced; I find it especially interesting that they have alcoholic slushy drinks like you would find in New Orleans. And let me tell you, those things are STRONG! They will give you a sample if you ask, but just trust me when I say that things will get crazy if you drink one. Another interesting thing about Oddfellows is their take on providing food. They have made it clear that they’re more of a bar than a restaurant, but they do serve Katalina’s brunch on the weekends, which is more amazing than any of their own food you could ask for. They have also recently been doing small«kitchen takeovers» with startup food vendors like Hai Poke Tuna who serves their Poke on Thursday and Friday nights at Oddfellows. And if that wasn’t enough, they also share their patio with Late Night Slice, so pizza is always an option! Overall, I think this place is a perfect fit for the Short North and it is here to stay for a while. I love that they support other local businesses and that alone will keep me coming back. That and their blueberry sours because they straight up taste like Fruit Roll-ups! :)

I had brunch here on a Saturday morning. It’s $ 10, but the price comes down to $ 6 if you buy a drink, so… obviously that’s the right choice. The outside seating area is perfect for summer mornings. The slushee-style beach drinks are a nice change from bloody marys and mimosas. The brunch is a small buffet, but it hits all the necessary notes — egg bakes, waffles, breakfast meats, etc. I wish there had been coffee and juice included, but it was available for an upcharge. Service is scant for brunch — you gotta go get your drinks inside.

Oddfellows will remind you that they«are not a dive bar,» but they have all the fun of one. Despite the hip vibe that the found-object décor portrays, this place doesn’t have one hint of pretension. For instance, they won’t judge me for ordering one of their fantastic dark and stormy slushies. Oddfellows has a solid draft list for a place that describes itself as a liquor bar, but their cocktails are more than worth checking out. Their ginger mule is great and you’ll get an entire bottle of Crabbie’s ginger beer to go along with it. And their aforementioned slushies are not to be missed. Between Mikey’s on the patio and Katalina visits, they also have some great food options. They also started up a brunch that I have yet to check out. All in all, this is my favorite bar for relaxing in a casual atmosphere.

All you really need to know is that they have happy hour M-F from 4−8pm featuring half off their drafts… I’m talking about 2−3bucks for a solid craft brew. And it gets better; grab a pint and then head outside to the patio where you can get some Mikey’s Late Night Slice. I’ve found a little bit of solace in the busy short north. PS there are a variety of other odd specials – be sure to check out the website before you head over~

I’m a big fan of this bar, and all of the crazy, funky décor lining the walls. My girlfriend absolutely loves this place. It’s listed as a «dive bar», but honestly, it’s not. It’s brand new with all kinds of different people, most of which are dressed up nicely for going out on a Friday or Saturday. It’s pretty much impossible to be divey anymore in the Short North unless you’re Mike’s Grill. Does that matter to me? Not at all. With the addition of the patio where Mikey’s new container spot is going to be, it’s surprisingly roomy. The only qualms I have is that the bar itself is a bit small, so it can be hard to get a drink if it’s really packed. It’d be really awesome if they could get something going outside. They definitely seem to have enough space, especially once Mikey’s food truck leaves. The other issue is that I haven’t found the bartenders to be very friendly the times I’ve been in there. I don’t expect you to have a conversation with me, but you can at least smile. This is definitely a pretty trendy spot and a fun one at that. I believe they have a trimmed down version of Katalina’s menu Thursday through Saturday which is pretty awesome, considering how popular Katalina’s is. I usually don’t have an issue getting a seat at Oddfellow’s despite it’s rising popularity, so that’s pretty nice. Overall, if you’re in the area, check out this cool spot right next to Bodega, and I’m sure you’ll have a pretty great time.

I’ve been here a few times after constantly giving it «another chance.» First, its always been so crowded. Of the three times I’ve gone, we only were actually seated once, and that was after a wait. While that attests to the popularity of this place, I also say it says something about the fact that their just isn’t enough seating. And thanks to my odd life, I’m not really a peak times kind of guy so I don’t know… We ordered food off the Katalina’s menu(which is good) but it took forever. Like forever and ever. And nobody came and explained or checked on us or anything while we waited. The drinks are always good too and reasonably priced but I just like to relax when I have a nice cocktail. I hate standing and drinking my nice drink, especially at a divey place like this. So… if I could sit every time I’d probably like this place a lot better.

I really wanted to like this bar and, knowing what I do about the people who own it, I’d be more than willing to give it another shot down the road. We just had an… odd experience that was backed up by mediocre drinks. We rolled up to Mikey’s one evening to find that the shack had been DEMOLISHED(le gasp) to make way for a shipping container and that, while they were serving out of the truck in the interim, the outside seating wasn’t set up. Could we go into Oddfellows and eat? Sure, she said, so we did. After eating our pizza, we were sufficiently into the drink menu and stoked enough about a happy hour on a SUNDAY that we decided to order drinks. My brother-in-law went first while my husband and I pored over the menu for a few minutes more. Hubs and I were standing at that magical spot where you order stuff at the bar, waiting our turn while the bartender made my BIL’s drink. And we kept waiting while he checked up on other bar patrons. I mean, fair enough – we didn’t SEE that anybody had signaled him but it’s not like we were watching like hawks. We’re not so precious that we can’t wait if other people were trying to get his attention first. And we kept waiting while he came around the bar and out into the dining area and started collecting dirty glasses. And we kept waiting while he stopped and had a conversation with a very attractive lady sitting at the bar. It wasn’t a touch-and-go kind of conversation, either – it was a «hey, let’s settle in and talk for a few minutes because I don’t have anything else to do right now!» kind of chat. While we are standing awkwardly at the bar, not talking to anybody, waiting for service. He finally came over to us and probably I had a real bitchface on(I mean. It’s in the name, people.) because he said«whoa, what’s up? you guys have like, a LOOK on your face.» So I said, «Well, we were beginning to wonder if you wanted our money?» «Oh, I thought you guys were just like hanging out.» Right. Hanging out… with no drinks and not talking to anybody but each other even though we could have done that at our table. We finally got our drinks. I ordered a well Moscow Mule, probably paid too much for it, and got something that tasted like weak lime juice. Welp. The service wasn’t SO bad(despite the total lack of apology or anything for our wait) that a good cocktail couldn’t have saved it, but even if he’d literally kissed my ass*, I wouldn’t go back for the mixing skills. That said, I *really* wanted to like Oddfellows and I hope the owners take service/quality concerns as seriously here as they do at Mikey’s LNS. If so, I would gladly give it another go. *actually, if anybody ever literally kissed my ass, it would not be a very good time for anybody involved. I can’t imagine I’d react well to that.

My new favorite«not a dive bar» Oddfellows has made an amazing transition from a cold vacant building with picnic tables next to Mikey’s Late Night Slice. I was sufficiently surprised/shocked on my first visit. The bar is completely redone with tables, a full bar, and lots of unique decorations. The bar offers a variety of beer, cocktails, and frozen liquor slushies. I’ve had the Mai Tai a few times and it was delicious — a real taste of summer with an umbrella included. It really brought me back to childhood enjoying a summery treat(minus the alcohol). Best of all, Late Night Slice is next door so you don’t have to go far for yummy food after you’ve had a few drinks. It would be awesome if they delivered to tables(especially in winter) — maybe one day?

This is a pretty neat places. You can grab some mikey’s pizza next door, order a drink and spend an evening here with friends. They also have a food menu here. Their restroom décor is interesting too, which is a plus.

I’ve been here a couple times, and it never gets old. The atmosphere is laid back, look around and you’ll see plenty of odd pieces of artwork, couple jokes written on the wall, plenty of conversation starters if you’re on a date. Next door is a Late Night Slice stand which is always playing some funny movie on the wall in the parking lot. Drinks, they have a nice selection to choose from. Your usual craft beers and liquors to keep your night flowing. If you’re hungry, grab a couple slices from the Late Night Stand and bring it in. I suggest the spicy pepperoni and then make it rain slut sauce all over that delicious slice, you won’t regret it.

This place has its own unique vibe that sets it apart from other Short North bars. I love the eclectic, eccentric interior– from a moose head on the wall in the front to chandeliers in the bathrooms. They also serve Katalina’s and of course Late Night Slice is right outside, what more could you ask for?!
