Earned International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) designation in 2014, Master of Physical Therapy degree from Northwestern University in 1999, and Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Ohio University in 1997. With 15 years of healthcare experience as a physical therapist and 6 years experience as a La Leche League leader, I now offer a unique perspective while providing specialized breastfeeding care as an IBCLC. The benefits of breastfeeding are well known; approaches to overcoming difficulties are sometimes less well known. I provide thorough assessment to help accurately identify underlying causes to difficulties, followed by a care plan reflective of current evidence based practice and sensitive to individual needs and goals. Other services include educational presentations emphasizing current information on breastfeeding support for healthcare professionals, primary care providers and related degree programs.
