Specialties
We are an old fashioned made from scratch bakery. Everything is made here. We bake breads from pepperoni rolls and rye to turtles and alligators. Lots of puff paste pastries, turnovers, crème horns, twists and crispies. Pies as well, apple, cherry, blueberry, dutch apple and lemon meringue are always there. Other flavors can be ordered. We make 32 kinds of doughnuts, a fry by night kind of place! Birthday cakes, shower cakes, wedding cakes, proposal cakes and any other occasion you can think of cakes are also constructed. We bake cookies, chocolate chip, peanut butter, pie dough, sugar, oatmeal and a huge variety for Christmas.
Bierburg Bakery is not operating this year but we make all the traditional cookies. No marzipan however. Fruitcakes are a favorite this time of year, the date on our recipe is 1937.
History
Established in 1981.
That 1977 is a guess! There has been a bakery at this location since the late 70′ but I really am not sure. I am the 4th owner and have owned it for 11 years. I worked at The French Loaf for almost 20 years before buying it, so I have an idea of what I am doing.

As an owner I pretty much do it all but fry the doughnuts and I have a tall person to do that! I learned everything at the French Loaf where they kept hiring pastry chefs from France, Germany, Belgum, Mexico and one trained in England that were very generous in sharing almost anything I wanted to learn.
