Just received my household goods from Mcconnell Brothers and I have to say that even though the movers were nice, they did not take care of my stuff. My daughter’s new bedroom set was completely destroyed along with my TV stand, and two book shelves. Very disappointed in them. Things were not labeled right on the inventory sheet. It was just a sloppy job overall.

Bob Sweeney helped up arrange our move(almost 900 miles away), and they did an excellent job. I can’t say that it was cheap, but it was worth it to me to not be stressed and exhausted during our move. The movers were very careful with our items, and they packed up all of our furniture in special wrapping to prevent dings and scratches. One thing that we were impressed by is that MSU uses Mayflower for all of their moves, including when the president’s office moved from Allen to Lee. As an institution, that’s a big vote of confidence with their wallet. Bob was very thorough in walking us through all the forms, including the insurance forms in the event anything was damaged. I would say the only piece of advice I have from the move is make sure you find out who will be delivering your things when you get to your destination. The folks who met us with our stuff were surly and unprofessional. Our friends who also used Mayflower for their move also had really big problems with their delivery in New York. If you are moving across town, it’s a non-issue, but if you are moving out of state then this is an item of concern.

Moved 3 hours from Jackson to Columbus with the military. Hardworking guys packed us up and moved us, however they threw expensive items(digital picture frame and record player) in a box with no packing, then denied our claim because the damage to the items was«internal» and no exterior damage was visible. I’m already letting all my buddies moving here know to make sure and use another company. If you do use McConnell, save yourself some trouble and DONOT let them carry anything that could break internally, be it a computer or a coffee pot. They WILLNOT pay you for it if it breaks!!!

I used this mover when we left Columbus, MS and they have the worst customer service. I bought an insurance to cover any damage of our household goods and true enough the mover broke my 32″ Sony TV and they denied my claim. Do not use them!!!
