Laredo Steak: Asked for medium and got well done and cold. Broccoli was so over cooked it was mushy. Breadstick was good though. Tomato Mozzarella Chicken: was only warm in the center. Tortilla soup was good. Service: never came back to finalize drink order. Bartender asked when he realized only one of us got a beer.

The food is really good. Staying next in Crown Plaza, makes it very convenient to just walk next door. There are a lot bars in downtown Columbus to choose from, but I found only this place gives you healthy portion. I’m absolutely going back for more.

Their tortilla soup and 3rd street salad are a great combo. Stay at the Crown Plaza often for work so Max & Erma“s is a regular lunch stop. Good food, fast service, give it a try.

I was staying at the Crowne Plaza next door for business. The hotel used Max and Erma’s for room service. I ordered and placing the order upset the girl that answered, I could tell she didn’t want to take my order. She kept letting me know it would be at least 45 mins to an hour because it was the lunch rush. Yes, I understand it was lunch, that’s why I was ordering food to eat. Anyhoo… lunch arrives after I call over to remind them and it was completely wrong. I called back over to let them know my order was wrong and I was not given a replacement or even am «I’m sorry» they literally did not care. My co workers wanted to eat dinner there later that night. I dreaded it but thought«ok, second chance». We were left sitting for about 15 mins before drink orders were taken and then after ordering we were given the one drink, when we asked for refills with our meals we were never given any refills. I will not give this place any more of money, hope this spares you bad service as well.

I had the Tasty Twosome with tortilla soup and Caesar salad. The salad was standard but the soup was amazing! Instead of tortilla chips on top, I think it had some kind of cheese chips? I’m not sure what they were but they were great!

Short walk from our hotel and convention center(seriously, you just cross the street), no midday crowd(Wednesday at 1pm), quick. Nothing stands out as terribly bad or exceptionally good. It’s fine. :)

The day was March 6. I was having one of the worst days of my existence, and all that would soothe my fragile interior was a piece of chocolate cake, after the Laredo steak. I get back home after a very cold walk, open up my bag, no cake. I called. They«wrote my name down in a book», and told me I could get it later. Fast forward to today, and I call in an order and ask about my dessert in the«book» — I can finally get my hands on it. Suddenly, the miraculous book no longer exists. My whole review however isn’t hinging on this one experience. In the four times I’ve eaten there, I’ve had all subpar experiences; cold soup, overcooked steaks, and the worst, no cake. The people that work there are very nice, but not helpful. My favorite answer is «it all depends on what manager is here». It shouldn’t. I probably won’t eat there anymore, but knowing my luck, I’ll have a work lunch there tomorrow.. Sincerely, Cakeless in Columbus.

So their system is down and they have a limited menu, which I don’t understand why. However the kicker is this, the food is tasteless! Salt and pepper goes a long way. I’d suggest eating from the connecting hotel. Maybe the drinks are good. Ehhh. Staff is nice.

This place is about what you’d expect from chain food. We went here as a last choice on Easter because everyone else was closed. But honestly– I don’t know why it gets bad reviews. Great service– friendly and efficient. Average chain food. Good portions and fair prices. Would never be my first choice because I like local food– but would definitely do in a pinch!

Walked up to the door at 11:04pm. Despite AND Max and Erma’s website saying they closed at midnight, the manager met us at the door, asked if we were picking up a to go order, and said they had closed already. Kind of annoying. Was going to have after drinks and snacks.

Not really sure why there are so many negative reviews for this place. I met my family here and we had a blast. I believe our servers name was Jeff and he was one of the best servers we have ever had. So much so that my cousin took a picture with him. Unreal. The food was exactly what I would expect for entrees under $ 15. The feel of the restaurant is a cross between a family restaurant and a sports bar. It’s also nice that it is within walking distance from the Hyatt. I also appreciated that they had some local beers on tap and that the men’s bathroom was spotless.

BAD. It took much longer than they told us to get a table, and even then they had to split up our group. I understand sometimes things don’t go as planned so timing changes, but their communication was terrible and then the hostess bordered on rude when walking us to the table. Our server seemed like she was angry to have to be there when she arrived at our table. Food arrived pretty timely, although they had no idea what each person had ordered. Everything tasted okay, but I wouldn’t say it was really worth the money. Overall not a great experience in any area. If anyone in our group suggests going here again I will strongly recommend we go somewhere else.

It’s true that the food here is not the most earth shattering or amazing, but it is consistent every time. The service has also always been consistently good, so I always return when I stay in the Crowne Plaza Hotel next door. They have a pretty large bar with huge TV’s in easy view and they offer a couple of local/craft beers on tap and in the bottle. I really love the asparagus with almonds and balsalmic. Good stuff. The desserts are also quite satisfying. I got the banana cream pie here once and I was fat and happy!

I hate posting negative reviews as I much prefer finding great places. However, as it is across from the convention center, I sure would have appreciated a note that this wasn’t a good place for larger groups. They have the room — just not the kitchen capacity or wait staff. This was a surprise as the seem to provide room service to nearby hotels. 1) they don’t take same day reservations 2) you need to all show up before they seat you 3) It was over 1 hr wait from order taken till food arrived. Yikes. We had some younger ones with us and that was not good. When I relayed this to colleagues, they say this is common on fri/sat. 4) we had to remind the waitress several times about drinks and sides etc. perhaps with so much lag in time it’s easy to forget. Price is about right for the mediocre food. Long wait for the type of food(fixed menu limited variances) was ridiculous. There are many better options very nearby. Overall a disappointment when expectations were low to start.

Solid breakfast buffet. I was staying right next door at The Loft and wanted to grab breakfast before heading off to my meetings. The restaurant was fairly empty when I got in around 8:30AM and at first I was confused about why I wasn’t brought a menu. When I asked the waitress, she said that the buffett has everything on the menu and is probably the best option so away to the buffet I went. You won’t find eggs benedict or lox or fancier brunch foods at the buffet, but there’s something for everyone. There’s scrambled eggs, oatmeal, yogurt with granola, potatoes, meats, pancakes, cereal, fruit, pastries, and best of all, a topping-filled customize your own omelette station. The guy making the omelettes was such a sweetheart! I had an egg white omelette with heaps of vegetables and enjoyed it. The whole meal was only around $ 15, such a steal, and a great way to fill up before the day. After eating the omelette, I wasn’t hungry until 7PM! There isn’t anything spectacular about Max & Erma’s breakfast, but it was a great breakfast option and I would definitely come back.

Worst Airport Food Ever: If you are so inclined to dine here. Do yourself a favor & rummage through the nearest trash can instead. I had their burger & it was possibly the greasiest, worst tasting burger Ive ever tried. I attempted to muscle through but I had to put it down after 3 bites. Meanwhile the poor bun was so filled with the grease it absorbed that it had swelled to twice its normal size as will you if you eat this garbage. I dare Man Vs Food to finish one of these greasetrap burgers. Poor! With a capital POO!

Very unfortunate that this restaurant is associated with the lofts. Everything about our stay at the Lofts was amazing… EXCEPTBREAKFAST! WOOF. Room service is handled by Max and Ermas. It’s almost impossible to screw up a Bacon, Egg, and Cheese but they did. RAWBACON!!! They quoted us 30 minutes if they brought it to us and 10 if we came and got it. I went down to get it and everyone was standing around. They had ZERO customers. Reason #52 why I never eat at a Max and Ermas

So… I’ve been to this Max and Erma’s location several times and was a bit surprised to see all the negative reviews. I will confirm that the service is typically a bit slow, but that’s my only complaint. My first time ever in Columbus, I was staying in the adjoining hotel and had dinner here. I’ve since moved to Columbus, and in the past year I’ve been working nearby downtown, so have been here several times. Particularly a good place when I’m in the mood for a burger. I’ve had some of their pasta too, and a couple other things, but there burgers are the main thing for me. They come in «Max» size and«Erma» size. Erma is plenty for most normal people. And I like big burgers… I’m not one of those girls who eats half a salad and then claims to be full =).

I was super exhausted after a long day, with an early wake up to follow, but the hotel bar/restaurant was jam packed and loud. About 100 feet away was a restaurant so I poked my head in… There were people waiting(it was about 9:30) but because I was a 1, I was seated right away in a quiet corner. My server Allison was sweet and helpful, though she must have been KNOCKEDOUT after that long day(it’s direcly across the Columbus Conference Center and it was jammed — Right across the street from the Hyatt regency, next door to the Crowne plaza. Had the onion soup to tide me over, until my entrée arrived. The menu was mainly fried and burgers… Choice between chicken and tilapia so I leaned towards the tilapia which was blackened, which I can’t handle so they accommodates it and non blackened it. Potatoes are tricky…(you know sometimes they’re crispy, then you got the«limpys»…) Yum yum and then oops it’s a regular tator! The über yum ones were sweet potato! Not pretentious and super price friendly for this prime piece of real estate Sauce was way spicy for the tilapia so I just slathered it in ketchup. No biggie, try being raised by an awesome nanny from Barbados, she believed the best condiment for American kids would be ketchup.(yea, to this day I can eat spaghetti with ketchup). So, although the Tilapia was super healthy(no fancy bling) it was under 550 calories and $ 18… My experience was great. They were accomodating and quick — I’m glad I didnt peek at the reviews in advance…
