La Glory’s Cafe

This was my first time at La Glory Café and I have to say it definitely won’t be my last. The breakfast special was both delicious and economical, but what stood out was the hospitality. I ordered two eggs over easy and was given an additional egg because the chef broke my yolk. I would have eaten the eggs whether or not they were broken, but I appreciate the kind gesture. I’m going to come back to try the chicken dinner!

My goodness. I feel like I went to this place for lunch everyday since I’ve been here. I love the friend chicken. I get it all the time. BUT THE GREENS!!! Place is a little heavy on the salt but the food is great and everyone is so nice here.

Wow!!! dinner was amazing. I had the fried chicken, mashed potatoes, and greens, with fried green tomatoes and corn bread. I can hardly move I took a before picture of our food I won’t show you the after dinner plates. If you haven’t been here for dinner hurry in before 7:00 pm.

I wanted some Soul Food so I went searching on Unilocal and I came across this place. After reading the reviews and looking over the menu online I decided on the «Chicken & Waffles»…The staff were friendly and greeted me as soon as I came in the door. Once I ordered I was informed that on Sundays they do not serve Chicken & Waffles, but instead serve a «Sunday Dinner» with a large variety of options to choose from. I told the staff member who was waiting on me that I was unaware of this, as it was my first time visiting. The staff member then turned to the kitchen window and had some words with the cook, then turned back around and told me that they were going to make me my chicken and waffles. *gasps* How awesome is that?! I hadn’t even tasted the food yet but that gesture alone instantly turned me into a customer who was going to return very soon. While waiting for my food I was told that they were out of waffles, but they still has kid sized waffles and could use multiples equal to a regular waffle. I happily agreed, as not only do they not even serve waffles on Sundays but they also ran out of waffle mix as well and they STILL found a way to accommodate me and make me a happy customer. The food was AMAZING! The chicken was very moist and seasoned perfectly. They gave me such a generous portion that I was only able to eat half of it. «La Glory’s» will definitely get a loyal customer out of me for sure. And the icing on the cake is that I recently moved to the Bexley area and this place was literally just 4 minutes from my apartment. Score!

My favorite soul food place, Gussies in the Fillmore of San Francisco is now closed. (Plus I am now in Columbus).La Glory is nearly as good. LaGlory is 4.5 stars because they were out of greens at 1pm. Boo hoo. I really really wanted greens. Fried chicken is great as is the mac and cheese. Sweet potatoes nearly as good as Gussies. I am a fan. Next time I am going to get my greens! The fried chicken meal also comes with a piece of cornbread. Both hubby and I were very happy with our meal.

Incredible food and comfortable atmosphere. The fried chicken was tender and moist without being greasy, the greens were spicy and flavorful.
Marc, the owner, personally greeted every patron that walked through the door, and made sure that everyone had what they needed.
This was my first time eating there, I plan on returning.

I find no fault in this establishment. Excellent food. Very reasonably priced. Clean facility. Friendly staff. I will be returning soon.

This morning was the first time me and my boyfriend went and had the breakfast everything was great and fresh. Nice clean cozy place I wish we would have been know about this place for are family we will be back

The food is AWESOME! We had the smothered pork chop, fried chicken, greens, mashed potatoes and baked mac and cheese. My daughter cleared her plate in a minute and asked for seconds. They laughed and I got her another side of Mac and cheese and mashed potatoes.
My husband said, «This has got to be the best kept secret in Columbus!» I think I agree!
So glad we found this place!

This is a great soul food with down home flavor in every meal. They have a great selection of tasty dishes to select from on a daily basis. I’ve had everything on the menu and it’s all been good… even the liver and onions.
On Sunday’s they have Chitterlings on the menu.
