Ate here with 2 of my kids and two other families. This restaurant wasn’t really ready for a group of twelve… Not sure why they would have done if my wife and other two kids had been with us. Despite the wait the food was good. I chose to build my own burger because I was intrigued by the selections they had available. I got mine with Pepperjack Cheese, Mozzarella, Bacon and Fritos. It was Delicious! It was prepared well and the fries that came with it were good as well. Service was pretty good too.

Requested a reservation the night before we intended to go… the woman who answered said that the restaurant does not take reservations. Upon arrival the next day with family in tow they were unable to sit us unless we waited at least 45 minutes. Big mistake! We went somewhere else. Couldn’t tell you how the food was and don’t really care. When an establishment that caters to the public can’t hack it… I go somewhere else.

Ate here with my meat eating friends thinking they would for sure have a vegetarian option. Did not try portobello mushroom, but probably should have. Got the spicy black bean burger which is the same kind you buy in the freezer section of any grocery store. Black bean burgers are so easy to make(and freeze FYI) can’t believe they would serve it with burger in their name. Expected quality. As usual in southern Indiana vegetarians are not cared about.

Decent burgers, nothing out of the world, but decent. Great craft beer selection for such a small place. I go there mostly for the great beers. Sit at the bar for great service!

Took the wife to Joe Willy’s for lunch today. Our first time there. It will also be our last time there. Right from the start, the service and customer care was horrible, read non-existent. Since we are both in questionable health, we came in the handicapped entrance in the rear and walked thru the dining room to where we assumed the hostess stand was located. It was. During our walk, not one employee said hello, can I help you, go screw yourself… nothing. Not a single word. At the hostess stand was a young woman using a ball point pen to fill in a box on an order pad. Not business, just doodling. We stood in front of her for 2 minutes before she acknowledged that we were even there. Instead of saying«welcome to…» or «thanks for coming by, how many…,» she simply looked at us and said«two?» We confirmed that and she led us to a two-top in one of the rooms, set the menus on the table and walked away without another word. The noise in that room was quite loud, not a lot of folks but they were having a good time, so we asked if there was an area that was a bit quieter. One of the waitresses led us to another two-top in an adjoining room. Sadly, this table was right next to the pop/soda/ice machine. Since we had already asked to be relocated, we didn’t want to cause any problems in the dining room by where we were sitting, so we sat. We spent our entire time there trying to hear each other over ice being loaded into plastic glasses. Ah, well. We waited over 10 minutes for any waitress to stop by the table and take a drink order. We should have just reached over and filled our own soda glasses. After another 10 minutes or so, our drinks came. So far, we were at the table over 20 minutes and hadn’t even been asked if we’d like to order. These are actual times. My wife glanced at her watch when we came in, so by this point, getting a little frustrated, we knew what the time-frame was. Finally, our order was taken. 30 minutes went by, no food. No waitress either. No one checking on us. The place was not nearly busy inside, although most tables outside were in use and that seemed to be where all the waitresses were spending their time. That is, when they weren’t filling glasses at the ice/soda machine, making conversation for us impossible. My wife noticed what appeared to be our order placed on the pick-up counter at the kitchen window. And there it sat. Again, no waitress in sight. However, 3 waitresses, at different intervals, walked by the kitchen pick-up window, looked at the ticket, looked at our table and just walked away. Not one of them took the responsibility to bring our orders to us. Finally, some young man, who does who knows what except stand around, strolled by the window, yawned, picked up a tray, and loaded the by-now 4 orders on it. Then, he stood there looking at tickets, trying to figure out what went where. That went on for about 5 minutes. Finally, we had had enough. Fortunately, our waitress walked by, I flagged her down, asked for our bill for the drinks, explained that we had been there for over an hour by this point with minimal, if any service or concern, so we were just going to leave. Being the fine waitress that she was… she actually asked if we wanted our order to go. Having sat in the window as long as it did, we doubted our burgers or fries would be anywhere near warm, and if we wanted an order to go we would have ordered that up front. We paid our bill and left. We won’t be going back. Now, just a word. My wife and I don’t get out often due to our respective serious illnesses. When we do, we don’t expect to be treated differently than any other paying customer. We just expect service as it is normally given. We went into Joe Willy’s, we were kind and pleasant in our questions, our ordering, and, even when being ignored, we kept our humanity and said please and thank you. We even tipped our waitress. Granted, it wasn’t much, she didn’t deserve much, but we did tip her. So, in over an hour, we got to order a soft drink and a margarita(which my wife thinks they forgot to put any tequila in,) we did get to order a meal for each of us… and we were mostly ignored. We were not alone in this. Other tables were suffering the same fate. We got there very shortly after opening, before the big lunch rush, assuming they have one, and still couldn’t get served. Then, as we were leaving, 6 guys who appeared to be businessmen got seated and seemed to have servers all over them, taking orders, fetching drinks, whatever. Funny how that works. In any event, all we did was show up looking for a nice lunch and a pleasant experience for our first time at a relatively new restaurant, the kind that, from appearances, we’d love to frequent, only to be ignored, short-changed in whatever service we did get, and left with a feeling that they had no interest whatsoever in taking care of just an average older couple.

Wow… 17 different burger toppings! The cheeseburger queso was amazing. The environment is different as it is an old house converted to the restaurant. Definitely stop by if you have the chance, it’s worth the time to stop and have a meal!

This is a great burger joint. My kids love to come eat here. Good selection of burgers plus a build your own burger. Decent salad selection plus appetizers are always good. The bbq pork nachos are one of our favorite dishes. Also has a good selection of local beers on draft.

Want a great burger and great beer? Look no further than Joe Willy’s because they’ve got them. The Rodeo Joe burger is the BESTBURGER in town. The craft beer selection is just great. And the staff is always awesome. What more do you need to know? Go to Joe’s!

I like and respect Joe Willy’s. It’s a great local bar. Decent bar food and a fantastic rotating craft beer selection. Love that the bar is in an old Victorian house. If your looking for a simple burger and a good craft beer with a non-pretentious atmosphere, check out Joe Willy’s.

Cute old house converted into a house. Great place to grab a beer and what a game. Good beer selection. Food is average with not so many healthy options.

Honestly, to call yourself a burger bar your burgers have to be pretty damn good. And these aren’t. They’re bland. Seriously, a little salt & pepper would help a lot. I would rather have a burger from Wendy’s. BUT it’s one of the few places in Columbus that has ample outdoor seating. And they have good beer on tap. Burger Bar? No. Outdoor Beer Bar? Yes.

This was a takeout order, so it will be brief. I hadn’t been in this place since the first year they opened and today I noticed that they have made some renovations that really help the layout at the front of the restaurant. As I was waiting for my food, there was a waitress who flirted with me a little bit after I opened the door for her. That was fun. I ordered the portobello mushroom burger with sweet potato fries and it was delicious! The food was still warm when I got home too. That’s a plus. I give them a 4 rating because it was really good, but not great. Get you some!

This is my third trip to Joe Willy’s and the best one yet. My waitress recommended a combination of the«Shroom» and«A1» burgers and it was awesome! The burger was hot and the bacon crisp, the fries were hot and crispy as well. Joe Willy’s is located in a neat old house with wooden details and neat architecture. With this being my first visit in the winter, I did notice it was a bit drafty. They have a decent beer selection, but most importantly the soda from the fountain tastes like it should and that is a rare feat. A definite place to stop in the Columbus/Edinburgh area.

The food here is great, and there’s a decent beer selection. The atmosphere is neat in the old house. It can take a little while to get in and out, but we always left satisfied.

Great burgers and sides. Decent beer offerings. SLOW. Go here for dinner, not lunch. Your lunch time will be over before you get your food.

This place was not good. The burgers were bland and not seasoned at all! The«premium toppings were a nice variety but not 10 to 12 dollars worth. They came over cooked on a stale bun. The waitress said they were ¼ pound. I highly doubt it. The staff was very nice but they took the first table and we had to listen to them talking the entire time. On a positive note, the coleslaw was pretty awesome!

Stopped in for a mid-afternoon lunch. Excellent beer selection with lots of crafts. I had the black and blue burger and it was excellent as were the fries. A little slaw as sort of a palette cleanser was a nice touch. I will certainly go back to try other burgers and beers.

When I arrived, I was also waiting for another person so the staff offered for me to take a seat at the bar. Here is where we start off with a 4 star rating: I am a fairly recent IU alum and have had a bit of «homesickness» for Bloomington so I ask the bartender if they have Upland. Not only does the bartender happily say yes, but it’s a 2.00 bottle. :) I rarely find that price outside Bloomington if they have it as an option at all! I was also tended to and offered a menu shortly after seating at the bar. Very kind service The meal was pleasant and we were lucky to have a good seat during a less busy dinner rush than expected. The sampler-appetizer was giant. We couldn’t finish it. Nachos and potato skins were the least favorite and I didn’t expect the fried carrot slices so it achieved a so-so rating. Unfortunately, the potatoes skins were over cooked and the nachos soggy. My date had the bacon burger and he liked it a lot. I had the grilled chicken sandwich, which tasted as described so I wasn’t disappointed. French fries could use some seasoning improvement, pretty bland for fries. I think the service was great. Our waiter did a wonderful job and was considerate. I think that the kitchen could definitely improve their menu options.
