Business Owner

Angie, the shop owner & mastermind behind Jekyll and Hyde, is a highly talented stylist who has been practicing for over 8 years. She is true Artist in her world. Everything she does becomes a part of her life’s purpose, her «art project» Her educational background is extensive and growing. She has trained with some of the industry’s top professionals at the Aveda Institute Columbus, The Paul Mitchell Academy and is currently training to become educator herself for the Davines brand she loves. A favorite specialty she loves is razor cutting. It is one of the most modern and challenging forms of cutting in the industry. Her hair areas of expertise include long layering techniques, short cuts, customized highlights, texturizing services and formal styles. Most recently she also is certified in the Cezanne Smooth Keratin Treatment to smooth & reduce frizz for manageable and undamaged locks. I’m bummed that Megan doesn’t have any reviews on here yet. I’ve been living with my new cut for over a month and it’s high time I gave her a shout-out.
Based on Jaina’s glowing reviews, I was looking forward to having her do something with my thick, frizzy, inconsistently wavy mop. I went to book in-person, but since Jaina was busy, Megan sat me down for a quick consultation, and I made an appointment with her instead.
My asymmetrical lob was way past its prime (also, out of boredom I gave myself a regrettable set of bluntish bangs). As much as I love geometric cuts and statement styles, I’m too lazy to style my hair regularly, so I was mostly looking to get some low-maintenance layers and symmetry. This is pretty much the only direction I gave Megan, and the end result is fantastic.
SHE FIXED MY HAIR. Really, this is the first time in my life I’ve gotten a cut that takes advantage of my natural curl pattern, where I can literally do nothing but run my fingers through my hair after letting it air-dry, bobby-pin my bangs up, and it looks styled. No hair dryer, no product – it’s a new high in low-maintenance. Pretty ridiculous to have hair that looks this good given how lazy I am, even with rain. I thought this was impossible for people with hair like mine. Even my ponytails look way better!
Looking for another reason to revisit this salon. Also, as another reviewer mentioned, it’s totally like getting your hair cut at Anthropologie.

Jaina is AMAZING. It was my first time getting my hair cut so short. She immediately saw my vision and made it come to life, easing my worries about getting such a short cut when I’m a «big» girl (everyone says big girls can’t do pixies!). She was excited and energetic and I could tell she truly enjoys transforming people.
She did what most salons typically do, and tried to sell me a product. But what made me actually buy it instead of politely declining like I usually do, is instead of just telling me the benefits, she showed me, and the results are what had me sold. She also explained how to dry and brush my hair for optimum, low-maintenance styling, and I really appreciate that, since I have zero experience with such short hair. I will definitely be booking a maintenance appointment with her in 6 – 8 weeks!

I went here on a whim after moving to Columbus because it was close to home. I saw Arielle twice with nothing but utter satisfaction. She moved away so I took a friend’s recommendation and went to Phia for my next cut. I had an overall bleh experience at Phia so figured I’d give Jekyll and Hyde another go around. I couldn’t be happier with my latest cut (thanks Jania!). Two different stylists at Jekyll and Hyde have provided such outstanding results. I think you can’t go wrong with this place.

All I have to say is wow!!! I stumbled across this place (through Unilocal,obviously) and checked out their website. There, I discovered they have weekly specials. One of these specials is on Tuesdays and is a $ 25 express mani and pedi combo. I scheduled my appointment with Bridgette immediately. Unfortunately, Bridgette was not in that day, so she promised she would honor the deal the next day!
First off, the salon is beautiful. They use all Davines products, which smell and work amazingly. Their spa area is downstairs and is very quiet and private. They don’t have typical pedicure chairs, but that doesn’t really bother me. I was still able to soak my feet, get a scrub and do all that fun stuff without one. Bridgette did a wonderful job on both my feet and hands.
As for customer service, Bridgette was personable, knowledgeable and just downright hilarious! I feel like Bridgette could be my therapist because she’s so understanding and genuine. After my services, Bridgette informed me that she is also a massage therapist and does facials and waxing. She showed me her room where she does those services and told me about how they can do couples massages as well! I had no clue about any of that stuff, so I’m so glad she told me!
I seriously can’t wait to go back and see Bridgette for a facial, massage or manicure. I left the salon feeling very relaxed, which is always a positive.

I have spent the last year trying to find a great salon and one that carries Davines products. Between a friend’s recommendation («They have that one shampoo you’ve been raving about.») and a search on Davines’ website, I found Jekyll and Hyde.
I scheduled a consultation appointment for a cut and color in September for a time that worked well for me. I didn’t have a preference on who the appointment was with and just selected based on the time I needed. My appointment was with Rob who was spectacular. We chatted a bit about my hair and past coloring (I normally do most of my color myself between boxed and professional colors) and what I was looking for. The actual color appointment was made for late October.
Rob had scheduled out a couple hours for the appointment which was necessary. Never did I feel neglected. The end result was impressive. The subtle color is perfect for my corporate job. Rob worked with the color that was already in my hair, to reduce damage, and still was able to give me what I wanted.
I have found my salon, it may be a little bit of a drive for me, but it is well worth it. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a full service salon.

There’s a reason this place has 5 stars and Jaina is a big part of that (#jainahair). I am extremely picky about stylists/level of service provided and she has met those expectations 100% from the first time we met for a consultation. Maybe ladies and gents with average and «normal» hair don’t need to be picky about who does their hair but for the rest of us with «problems» like me, it matters. The level of trust involved is on par with your BFF or significant other. Almost a year into our beauty squad relationship and it’s still true love.
Jaina will take them time to asses your hairs history, your hopes and dreams for it, what you want for its future, what is achievable realistically. She listened to me when I assured her that my hair would shrink at least an inch once dry and didn’t over cut. She promised me my color would not be a warm tone and magically it was indeed a cool brown (not an easy feat). With her guidance I remained patient, on track with my goal for long hair and avoided the yearly chop. She always keeps me informed if she’s running late which to me is an invaluable courtesy to anyone, especially a full time working mom.
I cannot recommend her enough. There is never a dull moment, only the perfect blend of talking and relaxation that everyone seeks in the solace of treat yo self salon time. The location is awesomely placed on High street and the inside is aesthetically pleasing. Do yourself a favor and stop the search here. If you’re not happy with your current stylist, make the move.

I forced myself to be patient and book 2 weeks out and I was rewarded. As I suspected Jaina in fact a rockstar. Effortless conversation, she listens and isn’t afraid to ask questions to make sure the vision is clear. You can’t teach good taste… She just has an eye for hair. I told her I was between two completely different haircuts… Either a superheavy long new-wave bang short in the back or short in the front mullet… She seemed to light up at the mullet idea so we went for it. How nice to work with the stylist who sees hair as art.

Based on her Unilocal reviews I booked an appointment with Jaina and what everyone says is true. She totally gets what you want and she does an amazing job.
The salon is lovely and the products they carry are quality. I never thought I’d pay $ 24 for a hair product but it’s so worth it. The whole experience surpassed my expectations. Needless to say I will be back!

The ladies at Jekyll and Hyde have always been very sweet and efficient in getting me in and out, but also taking care to make sure the lay is right and I’m 100% happy with my standard relayer trim. My hair is probably the easiest to cut — long, straight, basic, no color, etc. I think it’s crazy to pay over $ 30 for something I could probably do myself — and most trustworthy salons are well over that. There is no pricing pyramind for service from a junior stylelist vs. assistant stylelist vs. senior stylelist bullsh** etc. Everyone here is welcoming, non-judgemental, and QUALIFIED. I have trouble maintaining volume bc my hair is so fine, and they’ve each given me suggestions and/or samples of product to try — no pressure to buy! The online scheduling is SO great, and they’re flexible — never have an issue getting in when I need to. I’ve had cuts with pretty much each of the ladies at the salon and it’s been a great experience each time. I checked today to schedule and it looks like the prices increased slightly, but I’m still going back. This time for quite a few inches off!

I have been going to Angie for my hair for more than 2 years now and recently got a signature facial from her. I had never gotten a facial before so I wasn’t quite sure what to expect but it was just heavenly. You’re in this cute little room with soft music and it was one of the most relaxing experiences I’ve had.
She steams your face and your whole body warms up while you relax on the massage table with blankets, and then she does a cleanser and a scrub using LUSH products. You get the mask and while the mask is doing its magic, she gives you arm and hand massages. Then the mask comes off and she gives you a shoulder and head massage. I almost fell asleep when she was giving me the shoulder massage, and the entire experience was just heavenly.
I have really sensitive and dry skin and almost a week later it still feels soft and great. Her products are all natural (she calls them «farm-to-face» which I love) and they didn’t irritate my skin at all. I’m probably going to go out and buy some from LUSH because of how good they felt on my skin.
I will definitely be getting more facials from here!

I’ve been seeing Jaina for about seven months now for haircuts, highlights and eyebrow waxing and she is THE BEST! I have lots of curly hair and I never do anything to style it, but since Jaina started doing it, I get compliments on my hair ALL THE TIME now, even way in between salon visits…
Jaina herself is a consummate professional. She’s always on schedule, she really listens to what you want (and helps you figure out what you want if you’re not sure), her prices are consistent and reasonable and she works amazingly fast. She’s a lovely person too– really warm, creative, down-to-earth and a lot of fun to talk to– and the products that she uses work well, smell amazing and are adorably packaged too.
PLUS, Jekyll and Hyde’s new salon is just beautiful. I’m blown away that they designed everything in there and pretty much made it all themselves! Sitting on their couch while my color processes, taking advantage of their «phone charging corner,» drinking fresh coffee, reading their really good magazines and getting inspired by their awesome décor is all so satisfying that I’ve started jokingly calling it my salon «staycation.» I’ve heard that there’s a whole full-service salon downstairs too, but I haven’t been able to tear myself away from the first floor long enough to check it out…

Book with Jaina. Whether it’s something new, different or just a cut, Jaina is your stylist. She is seriously the best stylist I have ever had. Styling my thick wavy hair is not my forte, and she understands how to style my hair into cute cuts every time. I’ve been going to see her since Fall 2012, and have received so many awesome, different styles. She listens to what I’m thinking, she provides her professional advice, and I trust her. You can see the excitement and passion in her eyes when you decide on the style, and it shows at the end. She’s a great conversationalist, and you feel comfortable and relaxed. I walk out feeling awesome with my new style, and I receive so many compliments. Her base price is very comparable to other salons, and I’ve always been more than satisfied. I moved out of Ohio, and travel back to Columbus so Jaina can cut my hair. When you have found someone as talented as Jaina, you keep coming back.
The photo is of my latest haircut from Jaina. I told her that I liked the asymmetrical cut she gave me, attracted to short on the sides, long hair on the top, and was thinking of an undercut. She added highlights of blonde, pink, green and blue. I could not have been happier with the end result. I have received so many compliments on this cut alone. I look into the mirror and see a strong, independent woman. It’s exactly what I needed in my life at the moment. Jaina understood and delivered.

When I moved to Columbus last year I found this little gem of a hair place. Jaina is by far the most talented hair stylist I have ever had. I started going to her last April and I have never looked back.
She transformed my hair! I get SO many compliments no matter what she does to it. When I first came to her my hair was long, brown, and basically dead. It went to a beautiful burgundy /red color, then chopped off 8 inches, then a really rich chocolate brown, now a beautiful subtle ombré… this from the girl who dreaded getting her hair even trimmed!
Jaina is a visionary. She truly sees what will look best on YOU and has never ever steered me wrong. She really listens to what you want and gives great advice on how to get the end result that would look best on you. And to top it all off she has such a great personality– super nice and funny.
The prices are so reasonable, the salon is immaculately clean and decorated like a Pinterest dream (seriously, it feels like getting your hair done at an Anthropologie).
Getting my hair done is something I now look forward to every few months– this place is THE BEST!

Jaina is fantastic. Period. I started going to her about 2 years ago when I couldn’t get an appointment at my old stylist and I’ve never looked back. When I first started going to Jaina, my hair was longer and over the course of time, I’ve gradually cut my hair shorter and shorter into an adorable pixie. I’ve received so many compliments on my hair. Jaina has a really good eye for the current trends but has a way of making it work with my simple style. Right now, I am in the process of growing the pixie out and the transition from awkward pixie grow-out has been virtually painless (besides for my impatience). Also, the Divines products they have are wonderful. They smell dreamy and every time I leave the salon, I just want to buy something new…
Seriously, if you are looking for a great stylist, do yourself a favor and go to Jaina.

Jaina is an amazing stylist. She listened to what I wanted and then gave me several options to achieve my desired look. She was efficient without rushing me. My color looks absolutely amazing.
She was on time and talkative without being too chatty. Because the haircut I wanted wasn’t possible with my current style, she gave me a great cut that I could grow into before our next visit.

I love this salon. I had ~12 inches cut off back in September and Angie did a great job calming my nerves and creating a great new look for me. A long time ago, I chopped off 14 inches and knew right away what a terrible job was done on my hair. With an optimist outlook, I showed my sister my new do and she immediately started crying and saying «it’s so bad». Clearly, scarred for life, I was probably reflecting a lot of my nerves when I was getting it cut at Jekyll and Hyde the first time.
I returned today to get my hair reshaped after it had grown out a bit and I am still super pleased with how it looks. I have never returned to the same salon before this and I’m hoping I don’t have to go through the nightmare of trying to find someone as talented as Angie again.

I’ve had the pleasure of getting a few massages from Dana at this location and couldn’t be happier with the experience. The salon is so cute and decorated so well! I want them to decorate my house!
Aside from that, the salon is clean, professional and friendly. Everyone feels like a friend and treats you accordingly. Dana is a wizard, relieving my lower back pain in just two visits. She’s chatty when she needs to be and a calm, relaxing presence when it really matters. She pays attention to what pain you need relieved while not ignoring the rest of your body. (Or just gives an amazing, relaxing experience if that’s all you’re looking for).
I highly recommend a massage with her. the price is very reasonable. Especially for such personal service and attention.
