My husband and I have always used Golden Needle, and ave recommended them to several of our friends. Great customer service, he is very friendly… she seems to hing a bad day, because she was snapping at clients. HOWEVER, it seems as though their prices have increased tremendously. This last trip, it cost me a tad shy of $ 90 to have two pairs of unlined pants shortened and narrowed. UGH! Fortunately, I had gotten an awesome deal at Nordstrom’s, and really liked the pants, or would have nixed the deal and done it myself… and of course they don’t tell you the cost until after they have taken the measurements. NOTETOME… go to Alteration Station next time… they are in my neighborhood and I don’t have to deal with that horrid parking situation over at GN.

Let me make this short and sweet: The only reason I go to the Golden Needle is because they can keep the original hem on jeans. GN is kinda in the middle of nowhere, and it’s a haul from anywhere in the city. But I can get same-day alterations on my jeans for about $ 20. And that just can’t be beat!

Fantastic alterations and very quick and friendly service at the Golden Needle. The only thing keeping my rating from 5 stars is that they have very limited hours and in the summer they close for over 30 days for vacation. They have hemmed over 40 pairs of pants(very well, I might add), tailored shirts and even replaced a lining on my favorite winter coat during the last 5 years and I’ve always beeen very pleased with the quality, the timeliness and the cost. I tried a few other alterations places in town(during the summer vacation of the Golden Needle) and was not nearly as happy. Take all of your sewing stuff here and encourage them to extend their hours!
