History

Established in 1982.

GLA (Gerlach, Lear, & Associates) Employee Assistance Provider was born more than 30 years ago when John Lear, MA and Chuck Gerlach, PhD created a counseling practice and employee assistance program. At that point, employee assistance programs were a relatively new idea, but they quickly became a vital part of many human resources departments. By providing short-​term mental health services to employees of various organizations, work performance and lives in general were dramatically improved, and that remains true to this day at GLA EAP.
